New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

@wames90 Sorry you're feeling so horrible! I've not heard or experienced painful hair, but it could well be the change and mixture of hormones making themselves known on your scalp. Doctors say that paracetamol is ok when pregnant, but if you'd rather not then try some lavender oil, it won't tackle the pain perse, but it should help relax and calm the muscles.

clairehr · 03/07/2018 21:15

@Emma A happy and healthy pregnancy to you to lovely 😊

MrsY87 · 03/07/2018 21:20

Congrats on the good scan news!

@sunflower197443 I also saw the heartbeats on a scan at 5+5 (although by dates I was 7w) so you should be able to see one. Good luck!

I've also been getting random hip pain which feels like it's in my bones, I vaguely remember it from my last pregnancy so I'm not too worried.

I've felt so so bloated today, is anyone else having problems with bloating? I look like I'm well into the 2nd trimester but I'm only around 7w now, I know there are 2 in there but surely I can't be showing already!

I keep having to look back at my scan photo to show myself my scan really did show 2 babies, is still not fully sunk in!

I've felt exhausted and nauseous all day today, whereas yesterday I wouldn't have even known I'm pregnant, strange how it can vary day to day isn't it,

chocpop · 03/07/2018 21:32

Hi everyone, new to mumsnet :)

I'm 24 y/o and 9w 4days (I think!) along. EDD of 1st Feb. First DC for me. Have my first midwife appointment next week which is exciting but terrifying at the same time. I don't think I'll fully settle down until the scan, though.
My situation is a little stressful but I'm hoping once I know that everything's going well I'll be able to relax!

Leonora94 · 03/07/2018 21:40

Hi @chocpop I’m going to be 24 in a few weeks and we have the same EDD, it’s my first too! 😊 Wishing you all the best, I had my appointment last week it’s nothing to be terrified about although it did feel very real when they gave me my notes to take home! x

thismeansnothing · 03/07/2018 22:32

@sunflower197443 fingers crossed that these are our sticky ones :)

Rung drs but couldn't get an appointment for weeks. They weren't even interested in me wanting an epu referral due to previous ectopic. Sat and fumed for a bit and found that the hospital have just started online self referral so put it on there so hope I get a call soon.

Also having a wobble about work. Don't want to tell them just yet but I've got quite a physically demanding job. And I do a walking football session where I'm normally right in the thick of it and itching to play. Don't want to tell work yet so think I'm going to have to fake a hamstring injury to get out of (begrudgingly) playing for a while 🤣

Wames90 · 04/07/2018 07:46

Thank you @clairehr

I’ll definitely give lavender a try to relax myself! I’ve also googled sore scalp in pregnancy and it sounds like it’s provably the hormones making it dry and that tea tree oil is good to use so I think I might go and buy some of that as well. Thank you 😊

ronniemipperton · 04/07/2018 07:57

Congrats on the scan @clairehr, lovely news!

Anyone else slightly freaked out by the vast expanse of time between early scan (if you had one) and 12 week scan? I keep thinking maybe I should have another one at 10 weeks though I know it’s madness/I can’t afford it.

I still don’t really have any symptoms which I am thankful for but at the same time it is a bit concerning!

FrowningFlamingo · 04/07/2018 08:50

Haha ronnie I'm desperate to have another scan. But I know it's ridiculous so I won't. I think...
I'm 8wks today. Feels like a milestone in some way so I'm pleased with that!
We've had our living room replastered and in the evening it's fine but in the mornings the smell 🤢

Littleonek · 04/07/2018 10:09

Ive got my private early scan tonight at 7pm, many many hours of the day to get through. Im terrified and excited.

My first midwife appointment is next Friday and first nhs scan when im 13 weeks. So have a five week wait between my private scan and the offical 12 week one. A super long wait.

hayleyfx · 04/07/2018 10:27

@ronniemipperton haha I said I wouldn’t have another scan but I’ve gone and booked one 🙈 haven’t vomited in a couple days so I’m nervous 🤞

@Littleonek good luck for tonight. Hope it all goes perfectly!

My scan is booked for Friday at 4.40pm, I’m just as scared this time as I was at my 7 week one! Fingers crossed bub is still okay 🤞

LookingAtTheStars89 · 04/07/2018 10:39

I have to admit Blush we are paying for a 9 week scan after we already paid for a 6 week scan. I will feel just as sick as I did for the first one!

MamaSarai · 04/07/2018 10:43

@AliceRR - hear you on the irritability - this morning someone dived into a parking space right in front of me that I was clearly waiting for - managed to park elsewhere but gave her such a stinkeye as I was walking past and she was getting out of her car 🙊

@Babybeany I was so nervous about telling my line management - similar story to @twiglet not very PC here - but actually they were really great about it. Other senior management still not aware but had to tell them to get the time off for MW appointment.

Thanks for the advice @Bluebeee! My MW on the phone did say that could be a side effect 🤷🏻‍♀️- she mentioned trying the orange juice as well @hayley013

Great news on your scan @clairhr and welcome and congrats @emma911030 and @chocpop

So tempted to go in for another early scan @LookingAtTheStars89 - not sure I'll be able to convince DH to spend the money again as it was £89 though 😕

powkin · 04/07/2018 10:51

Hi everyone. 32, living in East London, EDD 25/02 so 6w+2d Had a MMC 4 years ago at 6 weeks so quick nervous. Went to the GP yesterday to get everything moving and she referred me for an early scan as I have a few health issues. Nervously waiting for the phone to ring to get an appointment. Trying to keep as much of a level head as I can. We were lucky that it happened relatively quickly (3-4 months) but at the same time I wasn't expecting it so it is a bit of a shock. Was hoping to lose a bit more weight and get more into shape.
Have had moderate cramps, generally feeling uncomfortable all over, RIDICULOUSLY bloated and nausea/wretching but no actual vomiting yet!
If anyone is in their 30's and lives/works in Hackney/Tower Hamlets/Newham area then it would be interested in making some new friends as none of my friends in London have kids and so would be good to make some new friends who are experiencing the same thing!

booxox · 04/07/2018 10:52

Hello everyone,

Sorry I've gone a bit quiet. Sadly my dad was taken really ill again so I went home and haven't had time to catch up on everything.

How is everyone doing?? Congratulations on everyone who's joined the thread! It's so lovely to be able to share this experience with such lovely people!

Nausea and sickness has officially set in for me. Had a very classy moment last night... I had to pull the car over on the A40 on the way home. Pregnancy is so lovely isn't it 🤮😂

I have my scan today and I'm freaking out... Just 58 mins to go... 👀 xxx

powkin · 04/07/2018 10:54

@MrsY87 I'm super bloated. Wake up every morning at 6am with super sore tummy and needing the bathroom (tmi sorry!). Generally gassy and very unsexy right now!

bubblybrit · 04/07/2018 11:15

@booxox. Good luck with your scan. Hope you Dad is ok xx

bubblybrit · 04/07/2018 11:17

I am so jealous of all your early scans....I am booked for NIPT on 21st July which is sooo expensive. Therefore we decided not to book an early scan due to cost. I’ll be 10 weeks by the time NIPT comes around so feeling a bit anxious at present in case something is wrong and I’m not aware of it

MamaSarai · 04/07/2018 11:19

Sorry to hear about your dad @booxox hope he’s ok and good luck for your scan xx!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 04/07/2018 11:24

Just curious to know if anyone else isn't bothering with an early scan and just waiting till the NHS one comes?

Our local place didn't have times my DH could come but also didn't see the need. I know people have them done as they've suffered losses before which I think is a good idea.

petitfilous1 · 04/07/2018 11:34

Hi MrsSnootyPants2018, I've booked a private early scan (I'll be 10+2) as my NHS scan isn't until 13 weeks so I just couldn't wait. It's costing £89 but I've told myself that I would spend that on ASOS so I should spend it on a scan! I also think it will be easier to initiate the conversation with my boss once I've had it - not looking forward to it and empathising with you guys with the non-pc bosses out there!

MamaSarai · 04/07/2018 11:38

Non PC bosses - it's ridiculous isn't it - in this day and age it really shouldn't be a concern and yet it still is 😤

@MrsSnootyPants I haven't really had many symptoms at all, not compared to some of the ladies on here, so I really felt like we had to have a scan just to prove it to myself that the sticks weren't lying! I couldn't bear the idea of waiting 10 weeks for the NHS one - we found out really early. I guess it's just each to their own 🤷🏻‍♀️.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 04/07/2018 11:39

I told mine a week ago 🙈 had to to go to my booking appointment.

Leonora94 · 04/07/2018 11:40

@Littleonek @booxox my scans also today at 7pm am terrified!

DryIce · 04/07/2018 12:05

I had an early scan (and did with my last pregnancy) as I find I just can't take it seriously until I've seen there's something in there! Then I will get the harmony test again, which comes with a scan at 10 and 12 weeks, so I end up having loads.

Which is quite comforting, really, as I tend not to have any symptoms. I'm very grateful for it, but it is reassuring to see it's all progressing as it should

@powkin welcome! I'm 33 and in East London as well, it's so good for having kids around here - there's loads of stuff on, and so many young families.
