New thread for those ladies due in February 2019. As there is so many of us though we could do with a roll call. If I start hopefully the next can cut and paste and we can have a list of everyone!

That last post was to @PeggyO, sorry, I haven't got the hang of this forum yet!

emoji · 04/07/2018 15:15

@buthaina absolutely... just get there early or it's a 2 hour wait 😭 Where in London are you? I had DD at St Georges but we've since moved and Chelsea and Westminster is now our closest hospital. And due to the nature of where I live, a private scan now costs me £165 😳 But I can't face a 2hr+ wait with baby DD at St Georges so I have to cough up the money.

Alicejj8x · 04/07/2018 15:17

I am with the fertility clinic and they like to scan every 2 weeks till your about 8/9 weeks

I have another scan next week
Looks like a few of us do have early scans I think after week 9 I would be ok to go on till the 12 week scan

buthaina · 04/07/2018 15:29

@emoji I know it's a long wait sometimes. I went there around 9am and waited for an hour which wasn't too bad. I live in northwest London so it's a bit of travel to me to get there but I like them. I have referred myself for the Queen Charlottes hospital and got an mw appointment with them in 3 weeks. I heard that Westminster and Chelsea is a good hospital too

Notquiteagandt · 04/07/2018 15:54

@Eden32 I had the same was 6w by my dates. Sonogrammer put me at 4w nearly 5w. And the gyno dr put me at 5-6w by my HCG levels.

But they said before 8/9 weeks it is very very hard to date accurately. So they wont. They will just check all is well, in right place and seen growth.

They will date properly and correctly at your dating scan further on.

Unsure if this is common practise or not. But they didnt seem concerned my dates where so differant. Bid me a merry fair well and said "see you at your 12w scan."

Those of you who are also struggling to keep anything down. I have found the elixor which seems to be working for me. Foxes glaciar mints 😍 helping loads with the constant nausea.

MrsY87 · 04/07/2018 15:58

@emoji I freaked out a bit when we found out, but now I've come round to the idea and will be devastated if there is only one there at my 12w scan. It's going to be mental though, 3 under 18m and a 4.5yr old! 🙈 they are in two separate sacs so likely to be non identical although could still be identical apparently, all depends on when the egg splits. That's good your dates have caught up a bit. So pleased you've had a positive follow up scan. I'm just waiting to see what happens at my 12w scan now but given how terrible I'm feeling I'm reassured things must be progressing!

@booxox At my scan last week per my dates I was exactly 7w but per the scan I was 5w +5 days but we saw the heartbeats and I'm feeling progressively worse so no reason to believe there's a problem. My cycles have been pretty irregular, longest 32 days, shortest 24days and I know my LP is about 10days so even though the dates mean I would have got my bfp at like 3w I think it's probably possible. Try not to worry as early scans can be so inaccurate as baby is so tiny at this stage, I know it's hard though.

FrowningFlamingo · 04/07/2018 15:58

I was thinking that we are having a lot of early scans between us but then wondered whether we are quite a self selecting group - the fact we've bothered to join mumsnet and find a group to talk to about it suggests we might be more involved (?obsessed Grin) than average!

FrowningFlamingo · 04/07/2018 16:00

Also mumsnet is often criticised for being mostly affluent, middle class women - so maybe more able to afford a scan?!

AliceRR · 04/07/2018 16:29

FrowningFlamingo I was thinking about a couple of days ago (ie that a lot of us seem to be getting an early scan but that’s probably not representative of the general pregnant population) and I think that’s true.

I have decided to wait until my 12-14wk scan unless I have real reason to think something is wrong before then.

MakeLemonade · 04/07/2018 16:41

Just jumping in here to say hello! 👋🏻

I joined the other Feb thread not realising there were two and it absolutely makes sense to consolidate.

I’m 7+3 today by early scan date which the NHS have now adopted as it means they can fit my 12 week scan in before I go away for the whole of August.

This will be DC3 for me, I’ve got two girls, 10yo and 2.5yo. I live in Surrey/SW London borders - had an early scan for £79 which seems a bargain compared to some of these. I’m super impatient, only reason I wanted one early! That and I’m crap at keeping secrets so wanted to check early signs were good as I’ve told a few people.

thismeansnothing · 04/07/2018 16:51

@Mrssnootypants2018 I'm not paying for a private scan. I don't really have the money for it plus My MC was at 9/10 weeks and baby measured exactly to dates so for me a scan won't bring me much reassurance tbh but I've been told I should be getting an early NHS one due to previous ectopic but only self referred yday so don't know how and when that happens......

Struggling today. This heat is driving me round the bend. I've had 2 outdoor exercise groups to deliver, been in the sun watching DDs sports day and got to go out in ten mins and deliver another exercise class in a room that normally resembles a greenhouse....I could cry

Babybeany · 04/07/2018 17:02

I am suffering dreadful wind!! I am literally doubled up in cramp pain until I ahem.. fart! I’ve not eaten particularly farty food? No eggs or beans etc. Is anyone else suffering like this? Today is the first time it has happened. At first when I started cramping I was really concerned. Then I let out the air and I had instant relief! Sorry! TMI! X

MakeLemonade · 04/07/2018 17:04

I had this a couple of days ago Babybeany - peppermint tea and some gentle yoga helped!

I’m so bloated at the moment despite not eating very much, a v.odd combo.

Babybeany · 04/07/2018 17:11

That’s quite reassuring @MakeLemonade Thank you. Since my post (which was only minutes ago) I have had diahreah. I’ve not eaten anything to give me an upset tummy! 😢

Leonora94 · 04/07/2018 17:16

If I’m honest I didn’t even realise early scans were a thing until I joined this group when it first started. I’m the most impatient person ever so anything to feel like I’m moving forward is exciting for me! It’s at 7pm and I’m now wishing I wasn’t doing it as I’m so scared 😬 if all goes well I’m going to tell my parents as it’s been so hard keeping it from them!

jeanzbeanz · 04/07/2018 17:17

I think it's quite normal to have lots of gas! I also am full of wind and bloated. So glamorous!

Eden32 · 04/07/2018 17:35

@Notquiteagandt same with me they didnt seem concerned, They assured me that everything was in the right place and we seen the little heartbeat so im gna have to try and relax until my next scan lol Thanks for ur reply.

UndercoverLauren · 04/07/2018 17:52

Speaking of middle class my sister pointed out some of my current food aversions are very middle class - basil, pine nuts, salmon, and humus XD

ronniemipperton · 04/07/2018 17:59

I also had no idea early scans were a thing. I agree there are probably more people on here who’ve had previous issues with mc or ttc (I had a few years of no periods) so perhaps we’re generally more anxious. Thanks for the tip about St George’s, if I can get a morning off work I may well do that...

Think a colleague saw me looking at this thread on my phone earlier. Oops 🙊

twiglet · 04/07/2018 19:01

@undercoverlauren haha I know the feeling I have a massive aversion to all fish which I love, passion fruit and fudge for some strange reason!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 04/07/2018 19:10

I have my second scan on Friday... I should be 7+5 then. They’re NHS scans but I am seriously considering booking a NIPT scan.. depending on whether Fridays scan still shows a viable pregnancy 🤞

Littleonek · 04/07/2018 20:10

Just had the scan! Had an internal one as they couldnt see much on the external one.

All ok and the right size. We got to see the heart beat, they wouldnt let us hear it as they dont do that there but we could see it beating!

One baby and in the right place. A massive relief!

She said the size is correct for 7 weeks and five days, you can even see the arm buds forming.

Due February 2019 part 2
gingerlou84 · 04/07/2018 20:27

I’m not going for an early scan. DH and I discussed it and it’s just a bit too expensive. Plus patience isn’t either of our strongest qualities so here’s an opportunity to work on it! I’m only 6+6 so still a long wait. For now, just pouring lots of love into our little bean and hoping and praying for good news at the 12 week scan.

BammyK · 04/07/2018 20:45

Hi ladies!
30, first baby and EDD 12 Feb. Anyone else having indigestion? Not as tired as the first few weeks but tired of the nausea and vomiting 😭

booxox · 04/07/2018 21:01

@jeanzbeanz awww same boat then! I'm just glad everything is ok! Hope the next 6 weeks fly by! I don't see my midwife for another couple of weeks then I will have to wait for an appointment so could be a while until my next scan.:( when's yours? xx

@MrsY87 I feel exactly the same, I seem to be getting worse and worse. I'm so glad I paid for the scan! I may be eating beans on toast for the rest of the month but it was so worth it! I'm exactly the same with irregular periods, my longest for 45 days and shortest 14 so I'm all over normally so trying to pinpoint when I would have ovulated is a bit of a challenge. It's so hard not to worry isn't it! I'm so attached to the little thing already, I'll be so upset if it isn't meant to be. xx
