@WhatAnAbsolutePenis I've been reading that thread and thought I recognised the username. Hope things are getting better?

balalalala · 27/07/2018 10:28

@sunshine goodness me! Yes, that needs addressing ASAP! Good luck!

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 27/07/2018 12:09

Not getting better. I’m hoping they improve though.

AGirlinLondon · 27/07/2018 17:48

@Sunshine I have some brilliant MIL stories. Mine is mostly sweet but does enjoy the horror stories - ie you’ll be fat for the rest of your life and you’ll miss your old body etc etc. One my girl friends agreed with her husband to lie about her due date by four weeks to keep them away. Extreme but clearly necessary move. My mother was convinced she was going to be at the birth and I had to tell her VERY early on that wasn’t happening. Our baby also won’t be christened but magically has a christening outfit waiting for them...🤷‍♀️

kaytees · 27/07/2018 18:35

Hi girls! First of all.., ITS RAINING AND I AM VERY EXCITED!! @Cakelaur this means hopefully poor pup will be more comfy tonight.

Hope you're all doing okay, some tough things happening on this thread of late. Hope you had a sleep @Gemsie1984, was thinking of you today.

I received scan results of my private scan in the post today (how retro) and it says I have an anterior placenta, which I didn't know... this just means I won't feel as much movement generally right?

ND348 · 27/07/2018 19:03

Catching up from yesterday @Gemsie1984 that sounds scary, I hope remaining scans and tests go your way x

RomPom · 27/07/2018 19:37

@kaytees from what I was told when I was pregnant with DD, anterior placenta shouldn't cause any issues at all. As you said, it just takes longer to feel movements. It'll probably move upwards as you progress.

My MIL likes to steal things from my home when she comes to stay. Nothing is ever said about it. She takes stuff and then when I visit her, I take it back!

SavanahXx · 27/07/2018 20:11

hope you're ok @Gemsie1984 sounds so scary.. thinking of you and bubs Flowers
thought this pregnancy was going without any problems, and was chuffed considering the past 2 MMC's, then just as I'm enjoying a day with my dad, sister and OH, midwife rings to say "go to your gp, get some iron tablets, you're anaemic" now its re panicked me all over again, anxiety is going so strong now, wish it would go away Sad

MagicalCreatures · 27/07/2018 20:42

Don’t even get me started on mother in laws. Argh!!!
We had a full on thunderstorm in brighton. Was bloody lovely.
@kaytees I have an anterior placenta too but was certain I felt a kick on Wednesday night at 17+5. And another one today.
@RomPom that thing with your MIL sounds quite funny. I shouldn’t be laughing but I actually can’t believe she does that. What’s wrong with people!!!!

@SavanahXx I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. Some people (like my mother) have spend the majority of their lives aneamic. It’s very easy to rectify with some simple medication or a healthy diet. Try eating some more red meat and green leafy vegetables aswell. Please don’t worry yourself about it. The anxiety is more likely to cause you harm. X

Ahh the MIL stories... I love to hear others as they make mine seem less... odd....

@MagicalCreatures yeah I've been feeling things for ages which is why I was surprised! Will see what it's doing at 20 week scan I suppose.

@SavanahXx iron supplements and anaemia are pretty normal in pregnancy, I have rubbish iron levels generally and they were very low through my first pregnancy. Baby was huge and healthy so it didn't impact him at all! As magical said, try not to let the anxiety get the better of you x

SavanahXx · 27/07/2018 21:03

@MagicalCreatures I hope so, hope I'm just being overly paranoid, I become anaemic every time I'm pregnant, then things seem to go bad, I thought id dodged it this time, but nope. and you wouldn't believe how much greens I eat!! green veggies and oranges are pretty much the only thing the baby enjoys!! been off steak and meat since finding out I'm pregnant, the smell and taste knocks me sick x

SavanahXx · 27/07/2018 21:07

@kaytees I know, wish I wasn't as anxious, since feeling the baby kick everyday ive been pretty relaxed, and haven't been nervous, but now its just kicked it in again, hope it passes, got my 20 weeks scan Tuesday so hopefully that will sort my worrying out, OH thinks I need to stop being nervous, he cant stop running around for me, just wants me to be all relaxed, he's too good Smile

MagicalCreatures · 27/07/2018 23:08

@SavanahXx after 2 MMC it’s not suprising your anxious. You have every right to be but don’t let it ruin this pregnancy for you. Everything could be absolutely fine and normal. You don’t want to regret not enjoying the pregnancy. Easier said then done as I have anxiety too so know to some extent how you feel.
But I just keep telling myself that this baby is meant to be in our lives, and he will be.
So you can’t eat red meat. Maybe your having a girl!!!! Are you going to find out?

Hey, sorry I've been missing off this thread for a bit! Have been on the Christmas cake one (for pregnancy after loss) but lost my place with this one for a bit. Hope you're all doing well. Is there anyone that can add me to the FB group? I think I'll keep up better on there. I messaged Olga (as I seemed to remember it was her that stated it) but it's saying she can't accept direct messages right now.

RomPom · 28/07/2018 09:00

I was going to ask if there was a FB group...please could I be added to it too? I'm in one already but it's so big and I'm really not getting anything out of it.

SavanahXx · 28/07/2018 21:48

@MagicalCreatures think I just had a bad day yesterday, feel much better today, little ones been moving about most of the day, so its definitely reassuring, and we're keeping it a surprise!! team yellow Smile x

MrsTeaPlease · 28/07/2018 22:08

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a better day and enjoyed the cooler weather. @gemsie so sorry to hear of all the issues you are having, stay strong. I had my 20 week scan in Tuesday which all seemed fine, got my first consultant appointment for requesting elective cs on Friday. Pretty anxious about it as worried I'm going to have to fight for it even after my last traumatic birth. I've been trying not to think about it as even though I know I want/need one to avoid another bad birth I'm shit scared of having one! So my idea was not think about it until the week it's going to happen! But obviously with this appointment looming it's being forced to the front of my mind!
Also, can I just moan about anterior placenta. It really sucks to feel loads of movement for a couple of days and then barely any some days when baby is obviously right behind it or curled up more! Cue constant worrying!
Xx

MagicalCreatures · 28/07/2018 22:49

@SavanahXx glad your feeling better today. Sometimes it really does help to have a good sleep on it.
Team yellow? Your so patient. I don’t know how some of you keep it that way. If I ‘can’ know something, then I have to know it 😂
@MrsTeaPlease I feel your pain with the anterior placenta business. Had loads of movements a couple of days ago. Now nothing. X

Gemsie1984 · 29/07/2018 00:24

@MrsTeaPlease - I find my anterior placenta annoying too! Yesterday I felt him move so much, pretty constant with good hefty kicks too.. then today I've felt him twice, that's it! He likes to curl on the left hand side of my stomach and it makes my stomach stick out at a funny angle so when he does that I stroke him or give him a prod to get movement - mean mummy! I've got my anomaly scan on Wednesday and I'm really nervous about it.. I just want his weight to be good to give him a fighting chance in the weeks ahead. Hopefully he is as when I feel the top of my uterus it's quite a bit above my belly button and I'm 21 weeks exactly.. fingers crossed 🤞🏻

MrsTeaPlease · 29/07/2018 08:25

Fingers crossed for a healthy, chunky boy at your scan @gemsie xx

kaytees · 29/07/2018 08:42

Glad to hear you're feeling better @SavanahXx . It's totally normal to feel up and down (I keep having to tell myself this!).

@MrsTeaPlease I'll be interested to hear how your consultant appointment goes as I have mine at 24 weeks (am 18 now). Really not looking forward to it as I met a girl who has the same consultant as me and she said to prepare myself for a serious questioning... sigh! Still trying to get over that there's no documentation from my first birth to explain why it was so awful.

@MagicalCreatures I didn't know it was a thing with anterior placentas that the movement could be felt differently every day... hoping this will decrease my worrying.

0lgaDaPolga · 29/07/2018 11:35

Hi all, I’ve been awol from this thread for a bit. I’m struggling with a back injury at the moment. I lifted my 14 month old on Monday and felt something really painful. I’ve basically been having to lie down ever since and have real trouble walking and even sitting. My husband has had to be off work all week as I can’t do anything with my son Sad I’ve been to an osteopath and it’s going to take some time to heal.

You have my sympathy sunshinesnowflakes my mil is an absolute lunatic and unfortunately she has become worse since I had my son. She has some weird sense of entitlement to him and is generally just awful. Dh and I have fallen out about it this morning as she has offered to come down and ‘help’ while I’m struggling with my back. Only I know it’s not to help. It’s so she can come round and take over and play mum to my son whilst ignoring everything i say and doing it all her own way. Dh can’t see that and thinks I’m being horrible to her. So fed up.

So sorry to hear about your health problems Gemsie. Fingers crossed everything is ok and and you can keep that little bub in as long as possible Flowers

December2018 · 29/07/2018 19:19

Anyone else feeling incredibly achey alllllll the time!
Trying to get comfortable at any time of day is hard work... specially at night 😖

MrsTeaPlease · 29/07/2018 20:49

@kaytees I will let you know how it goes. I have also heard to expect to fight for it which seems ridiculous when we have already been through birth once! I'm also expecting my notes to be a load of bollocks as I remember at my 6 week check they'd written less days overdue than he was when he was born and much less time in active labour! Like we won't remember these things ourselves! Every single thing is etched in your brain forever when you've had a traumatic birth. I've been told to just stay strong, put your foot down and not be pushed into anything. But it is so intimidating the thought of sitting in front of everyone and going through it all to try and convince them!

@olgadapolga that sounds awful, I hope you have a speedy recovery and aren't in too much pain.xx

MrsTeaPlease · 29/07/2018 20:50

@December2018 I have been so much more achey this pregnancy!
