Hello all! I got my BFP this morning at 10dpo and am apparently due 1st March with my third baby. Now feeling that familiar paranoia about what might go wrong, but hopeful all will be well. Is anyone else due in March yet? 😬

Hi can I join you? Due number 2 19th march. Been feeling sick most of the week which is soo much earlier than I was with dc1.

KneesupGaston · 06/07/2018 10:05

Woke up at 5am feeling like my ribs were being peeled apart. I forgot about that particularly lovely symptom Sad

Murphyrocks · 06/07/2018 10:25

@KneesupGaston that sounds awful!

Hi @Bluebelltulip and congratulations! I had some nausea really early with this one but it then subsided and only really came back this morning. Strange how much pregnancies vary. Whereabouts in the country are you?

HidCat · 06/07/2018 11:58

@KneesupGaston ouch, thought that didn't come til later. Hope you're ok.

I'm feeling ok today. Had a good chat with the midwife who confirmed that care after one Mc is no different to someone without but also recommended a private scan clinic if I wanted to go for one. Got my proper booking in appointment on 3rd August then scan will be early September.

WildFlower2018 · 06/07/2018 14:37

I'm exactly 5w today. I visited the Drs this morning for an unrelated issue (UTI) and mentioned the pregnancy.

She told me to wait until I was 6w along and then sort out a booking appt for two weeks after (8w).

I went back to the drs this afternoon to drop off a urine sample & while I was there, I enquired about how I'd make my booking in appt (as I saw some people on here had to phone up the midwifes directly). She said she could sort it now and booked me in for next week!!!???

I feel like that's far too early and the midwife might not be happy....

I did explain to the receptionist but she didn't seem to think it was an issue that it was early 🤷‍♀️

Question for all the ladies who've been to booking in appts before, can you and do you take DPs? I'd like my DH to come so he feels involved and I gather they ask medical history on both sides, right? Or is that weird and should I go alone? Haha

RedRobin7 · 06/07/2018 14:44

@WildFlower2018 Early is fine, it doesn't matter so much how early it is. Should mean you'll get your 12 week scan date in advance. It's quite a boring appointment really so your DH probably won't want to be there. They also like to make sure you're not in a violent relationship or anything so if he's not there they can ask you those questions. I just take my DH to scans so he doesn't have to take extra time off work.

Murphyrocks · 06/07/2018 15:02

@WildFlower2018 they pretty much insist on booking in by 6 weeks here! Personally I'm taking my DH, he came to all the appointments last time and probably will do this time, but yes it is pretty long and boring (about an hour) so your call! We had about a million questions so was glad he was there to hear all the answers, helped him feel more involved I think.

WildFlower2018 · 06/07/2018 15:15

Thank you @RedRobin7 I feel better now about the early appt!

I'll leave it up to him if he wants to come or not. Work isn't an issue, as he's a university lecturer and it's pretty quiet this time of year. He works from home on Fridays & can easily slip away for an hour.

(Update: I just asked him and he said he'd like to come if he's allowed in.)

Another thing I'm worried about: all my Drs details are in my maiden name but I got married last month. I really ought to get that sorted!

WildFlower2018 · 06/07/2018 15:16

@Murphyrocks thank you - that does make me feel a lot better x

Wineandchoccy · 06/07/2018 15:18

WildFlower2018 DH didn’t come with me except for scans but no reason why he can’t. It’s a long appointment filling in the notes, peeing in pots and having blood taken be prepared they will probably ask him to leave to ask you questions about domestic violence.

RedRobin7 · 06/07/2018 15:20

@WildFlower2018 Ah if it's that easy for him to come along with you then why not 😊

I was asked last time for my maiden name so both names were on my file and it shouldn't matter too much as they will also use your NHS / hospital number!

Murphyrocks · 06/07/2018 15:24

@WildFlower2018 no worries, if he wants to go knowing it's going to be mostly boring I say let him come! Pretty sure they can't stop you, like I said my DH went to everything with me last time and not once did they try and stop him! He works for a uni too so as you say not a problem this time of year.

They should be able to tell you how to go about getting your name changed too.

WildFlower2018 · 06/07/2018 15:26

Ahh thanks again @RedRobin7 and good point about NHS number!!

@Wineandchoccy Thank you. I told him it's long and boring but he knows I get anxious with medical stuff so is happy to come & I think he wants to come and listen to what nurse says & feel part of stuff too. I'll prewarn him that he might have to leave the room but it won't be a problem.

I do love this forum I already feel less stressed 😄😁. I worry when things are new and I don't know what's going to happen haha. Well I suppose I better chill out a bit as there'll be a lot of that from now on!!!!

WildFlower2018 · 06/07/2018 15:28

@Murphyrocks ahh brilliant again thank you 😊

nervousnelly8 · 06/07/2018 15:36

Hi everyone, missing a day on this thread takes hours to catch up on! Fortunately Friday is working from home day again, so much easier to get in a few MN breaks!

I'm keen to join the FB group - how do I go about doing that @frankiefumbles?

Sarahandduckarehigh · 06/07/2018 15:48

@nervousnelly8 if you PM me your real name and a description of your Facebook profile picture I will add you on Facebook and then add you to the group (don't worry, I will remove you as a friend straight after)

sejohn · 06/07/2018 16:32

Hey @RedRobin7 I'm still pretty symptom free too, although I think I'm having symptoms and feeling a bit queazy, tired and yuk taste in my mouth but then convince myself I'm imagining it just to try and feel pregnant! Argh, I don't even know my own mind or body anymore!!!

I think I might bother the bullet and join the fb group if you'll have me too pls??

frankiefumbles · 06/07/2018 16:41

Ill send you a message @sejohn

sejohn · 06/07/2018 16:44

Thank you @frankiefumbles although I have no idea where the messages are on this app 🙈

frankiefumbles · 06/07/2018 16:45

Re the name change, I'm still in my maiden name but I'd really like my scans to come up as ...ahem... Baby Fumbles

frankiefumbles · 06/07/2018 16:45

@sejohn you may have to go on to the website. I can't see where you can get PMs in the app

sejohn · 06/07/2018 16:47

@frankiefumbles I think I've done it! 😀

frankiefumbles · 06/07/2018 17:05

You're in. I suppose whilst we are on this topic, if anyone does want to join, tag me here in a comment and I'll send you a link to my FB so we can get you on the group. Obviously totally understand people not wanting to jinx things. I feel I've made a massive potential jinx by setting up the group...! Onwards and upwards!

frankiefumbles · 06/07/2018 17:07

Ps welcome over @pushit and welcome @Bluebelltulip

Velcro88 · 06/07/2018 17:13

@frankiefumbles @WildFlower2018 I'm in the same position re:maiden name having also tied the knot only last month. Need to get that sorted! We're also making it harder as we've double barrelled them... I guess I might have to get my passport sorted first as ID. Sigh, no energy for that!
