Hey guys new thread!
(i stole the title )

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yeah, he's got a little acoustic guitar as well and jumps around the house pretending that he's Johnny Cash....and he's just discovered The Clash...Should I Stay or Should I Go? being his fave rave!

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:04

How old is your DS Ria?.....we're still having soggy night pull-ups (got fed up changing the bed three times a night so put him back in them) and I'm feeling a bit paranoid about it as DS is nearly 5!

Don't worry about reactions to posting on that other thread....jump right in, I have!!!

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:06

I've just realised I'm going to have to take a supply of gluten free bread and cereal in with me in my hospital bag (so I can have my post natal tea and toast and a safe breakfast).....strangely hospitals aren't the best places to get gluten free food!!

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 19:10

Hospitals are a bit rubbish sometimes.

My DS is 3 (we have been trying for a while but maybe I left it a bit late anyway, although DS1 only had 1 term at playgroup before he started nursery because he couldn't get being dry at daytime and in those days our playgroup wouldn't do nappies). The dry at night was a fluke - he was wet this morning, but (touching wood) he seems to have cracked the daytime thing almost overnight. It's a big moment .
My nephew still wets sometimes at night and he's 6. But they make drynights up to age 10 don't they, so it must be fairly common. (DS2 will be wet at night for a while longer 'cos I can't lift him out of bed for a sleepy wee).

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 19:11

I took 3 hosp bags in with me and no-one said anything. One for me, one for the baby and a carrier bag full of food. I am keeping it down to one very large holdall this time as hopefully I won't need it.

Well done to your dry ds ria!!

Mystic red ranger is so cool! The clash? That's brilliant!

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:11

evening all, we have a v-tech toy that can say "wanker" it is actually saying "one" then "car" but if you press the buttons quickly the awful american accent comes accross in a whole other level - how mature am i!!!!
thinking of dipping into that thread and tellin the nasties that as i live in Scotland my children live off an irn bru and deep fried mars bar diet!!!! and asking WTF is wrong with that???!?!?!?!?!?

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 19:13

I love deep fried mars bars !

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:13

oh sorry - meant to say congrats to your DS Ria - clever boy

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 19:14

I have never had a deep fried mars bar.

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 19:15

My bro used to get them and I'd always have a bite! I could never eat a whole one though!

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:17

have to admit i've never actually had one either - sounds minging - i don't like mars bars - deep fried drifter though i could be swayed!!!

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:21

change of subject but i bought these cause i thought they were cute and 2 for £25 - not bad. Anyway have them on and DH just told me i look like an easter chicken!!!!!!!!!!!

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 19:23

Men are so lovely! At least chicks are cute!! Nice pjs though, I need some, might just get some from la redoute with discount!

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 19:25

DH is winding the boys up to manic proportions of silliness. MEN!
(am ignoring them and virtual window shopping. Hopefully he will put them to bed...)

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:27

...I feel like doing that with most V-Tech toys as well, so maybe I should let that one slide....he's been a right wee horror today and has been cheeking both DH and I all day, and doing all the things he's not meant to do. We've been doing "getting house ready for bubba most of the day as well so he's been a bit bored. I'm sure it's all just a reaction to the impending birth, but I don't think I've got the patience or emotional strength to deal with him at the moment. Thankfully DH will be back on Tuesday for the hospital appointment on Wednesday, so this week won't be too bad.

Don't know about your lot Foxy, but he does seem to behave worse after an hour of the evil Jetix

Coming from the East Coast and having formerly lived in "one of the nicer parts of Edinburgh" to quote Xenia...I thought deep fried mars bars were another urban myth. I've never seen a scottish chippy selling them. Deep fried pizzas on the other hand....

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:28

How very gallant of your DH Derlor......you have the hormonally challenged right to throw things at him because of that remark!!

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:35

i'm taking the comment as a term of endearment whether meant that way or not!
he is now bathing and hairwashing both children so i'll just sit here and chirp!
think deep fried mars bars are mostly found in ayrshire (wierdos!!!) - you wouldn't get them in the town where i live - WAY TOO POSH!!!!!!

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 19:37

Is that a generalisation of a stereotype?

I'm still bored.

DH has just asked DS2 "who's your favourite Daddy?" he said "mummy". Bless.

hollyandalice · 13/05/2007 19:40

Lol ria! I love it when my dd says she loves me and doesn't love daddy! It is hilarious!

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:41

oh Ria that is so cute - how fab is your wee DS!

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:41

Is that the town that's posh or the mars bars . I got the horrible pink nighties fron Next which DH says make me look like a granny from the 1950s.....nice!

However today he has(oh how quickly they redeem themselves) planted up my herb garden, hoovered the whole house, swept and washed the kitchen floor and done all the washing up all weekend as well as cooking a lovely lemon garlic and thyme chicken for tea and plans on a bit of ironing before he sits down. All I've done is made lunch and a few cups of tea and buggered about on here. It's nice to be pampered for a bit

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 19:45

swap you daisy - DH asleep on sofa with mouth open and kids still watching TV.

OK, I get your point. Not very tempting is it?

derlor · 13/05/2007 19:45

maybe you should change your name to grannybump!!!!! you deserve to be pampered - enjoy

daisybump · 13/05/2007 19:49

Hoi...I'm only 38...I know that makes me a geriatric mother, but I'm not that old....cheeky

riabutterflew · 13/05/2007 20:01

That obviously makes you middle class too, not like me. (We have sex younger up north too, us working classes, cos we aren't educated enough for worthwhile pasttimes! It's got something to do with the hay...)
