Sorry to hear that @toasterstrudle

I had my scan today. My early scan gave me an EDD of 10th Nov but this one said EDD 5th Nov (and should be more accurate) so I've jumped ahead a bit and will apparently be 12 weeks on Monday! I have just stopped feeling nauseous all the time which is a huge plus. Like a lot of you guys I'm now in leggings/maternity jeans and feel as though I look quite pregnant 😳

Scan showed all normal and baby was moving around loads! Just so relieved everything seems to be fine... Long may it continue 😊

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer seems like that product has been withdrawn from some retailers. please work

BunBunMum · 20/04/2018 21:24

So sorry @toasterstrudel xx

BunBunMum · 20/04/2018 21:27

So lovely to see some scan pictures. I’m only 8+2 and feeling pretty rough (I never felt like this with DS). My last pregnancy ended at 8+3 so I will be glad to get this weekend out of the way mentally at least

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 20/04/2018 21:48

Thanks @TinyPawz and @dointhedo ; maybe not then.

GreenMeerkat · 20/04/2018 22:10

I'm so sorry @toasterstrudle xxx

MamaGarl · 20/04/2018 23:02

We told DD today and her reaction was adorable, wish we had thought to record it!

TinyPawz · 20/04/2018 23:16

What age is your Dd?

Shrimpi · 20/04/2018 23:16

@toasterstrudle so sorry, please look after yourself and good luck in your future x

Congratulations to those who have had good scan results! Very exciting. I am now 10+3, assuming things are okay but feels like anything could happen in there and I just wouldn't know. I can't wait for scan in about 2 weeks (hoping for a good result). Then it might feel real.

Cluelessmamma · 21/04/2018 06:44

Sorry to everyone else having sleepless nights, I keep waking up so early, yesterday it was 4.20, hoping this passes as really need the sleep with DD being so active and having recently decided she’s done with napping!
@windy I’ve got lower back pain, it’s been aching on and off and I was worried but we had our scan since then and she said it’s just uterus putting pressure on the lower spine and muscles as it’s growing. I get so jumpy with all these new feelings and twinges

MeredithShepherd · 21/04/2018 06:48

TMI but... Has anyone else been having very vivid sex dreams? Blush I actually woke myself up having an orgasm last night and DP was away!!! Up until now I’ve growled at him if he’s so much as looked at me never mind touched me but I think I probably need some action tonight!!

sarahhh1984 · 21/04/2018 07:04

@Fireba11 Congratulations on the lovely scan!

@MeredithShepherd Sounds like you're well moving into the second trimester! I got so randy last time after feeling too ill/tired for sex for about two months. DH didn't know what hit him. 😂 Not has sex dreams yet this time and still feel too yucky for sex, but looking forward to hitting that stage!

MeredithShepherd · 21/04/2018 07:15

@Sarahhh1984 I hope they come soon for you Wink I don’t remember them from my last pregnancy at all! I’m 12 weeks on Monday so that’s a positive sign that’s all well with baby I suppose!

LastNightsMakeUp · 21/04/2018 07:19

@MeredithShepherd Yes, I had exactly this last week! OH was also away... and the dream wasn't about him! 😱
We're on a self enforced sex ban til after the 12 week scan, after the spotting I had at 7-8 weeks I don't want to shake things up down there!

MamaGarl · 21/04/2018 07:43

@TinyPawz She is 4

@MeredithShepherd yes! I had a particularly vivid dream about Ronan Keating the other night lol!

olderthanyouthink · 21/04/2018 07:47

@toasterstrudle I'm so sorry to hear your newsThanksWine

@Cluelessmamma yes, I keep waking up at 4 something and can't go back to sleep, it's making my days very long.

Exciting to see all the new scan pictures. I'm looking forward to to seeing mine on Thursday (though I'm still struggling with the idea that s/he is in there). I should be 10+3 then.

After all my problems with getting hold of St Thomas' they actually picked up the phone yesterday. I explained about missing the booking appointment I had no warning for and the other problems I'd had and the man there said the appointment had been rearranged but then he had a look and found me an earlier appointment, which is today.

Also I had a hospital appointment for a nut allergy and they keep asking me to have a blood test but I don't do people sticking needles in me. I said I might have a blood test at St Thomas' (if my bf can pin me down and the midwife is nice) and the dr suggested I ask they add the allergy to the list of tests. The idea of needles stresses me out so much that I ended up with a migraine Sad

@olderthanyouthink so glad you got your appointment finally. It sounds like an utter nightmare at your hospital but hope it's now going to go smoothly for you! I have to ask to lie down when they're taking blood as I am a fainter but it's been fine since I worked that out. Hope the blood taking goes well.

@mamagirl aww great news! Haha at Ronan Keating

sarahhh1984 · 21/04/2018 09:01

Ooh, Ronan Keating... Now there's an old boy band crush! 😂

@olderthanyouthink So happy you got your appointment sorted. Have you tried anything to help get over your fear of needles? I've heard things like hypnosis can be very effective. Sorry if I'm being nosey. I hate the thought of you going through your pregnancy getting stressed because of injections. x

olderthanyouthink · 21/04/2018 09:10

@TheUbercornMum I'm hoping for distraction, numbing cream and a small needle etc. I don't think I'll faint but apparently I nearly did when I had a skin prick allergy test

@sarahhh1984 nope, I've only had one blood test when I was 11 (excluding any I had as a baby) it wasn't a horror story but I was scared then and it's worse now. I have declined blood tests for a few more things since that one but I've had 4 injections since that blood test, none of them went well and included screaming and crying in front of a lot of my classmates.
I can sew so there are pins and seeing needles all I've and inevitably stick my self - only really freaks me out if I go deep. I'll happily use a needle to dig out a splinter but someone sticking a needle in me, no no no no no no no!

@olderthanyouthink That sounds awful to live with. I'm sure your mw will be sympathetic though - you can't be the first person with this phobia to have had a baby so I'm sure they'll have ways of helping you through. A friend of mine actually found having a baby cured her needle aversion. Her exact words were "needles kind of pale in comparison to pushing an entire human being out of your vag". 😂 Hopefully it will be the same for you. Fingers crossed.
