Glad all is ok @BeesKnees9 x

I had my next ante natal class today it was really informative so I am glad I went! Had a shit afternoon at work and cried all the way home on the phone to OH. He is now cooking me dinner and being generally lovely so I feel better but I am so done with work!! 4 weeks today until I finish :(
how will I do it?! I am so busy and so stressed and my commute is stressing me out :(

@peterpanwendy - I know exactly how you feel! 18 more mornings of having to wake up and drag myself in seems like too much!

I seem to be very big and cumbersome at the minute, and find myself spending more time in my chair than I am comfortable with, and the heat doesn't help Sad

Anyway, here is 33 week bump pic :)

@peterpanwendy I know exactly how you feel, I felt like that last week. Just hang in there you haven’t got long to go and if anything I’m sure your mood will pick up towards the end because you will have anticipation of meeting your baby girl!

@MamofFrankie your bump looks amazing! I still have 6 weeks 2 days left at work! So you guys got it good compared to me haha

I just had my 31 week midwife appointment and bump is still measuring 3cm behind at 28cm. So she’s referring me for another growth scan again! She did say that instead she might just get me back in in a week or two just to measure bump to make sure it’s grown. But tbh it’s been three weeks since I last saw her and it’s growth but not to the size she hopes! Think she needs to just give up and realise I’m carrying small and stop giving me this talk of ‘some women can have abnormally small babies’. He’s not abnormally small he’s the correct size! I’m the one whose small 🙄

MamOfFrankie · 27/06/2018 11:01

My SIL ended up going for three growth scans because they couldn't believe how small her bump was - turns out she just had really strong stomach muscles because my nephew was 8lb 9oz when he was born! Still to this day can't figure out where he fitted Confused

Gizzymum · 27/06/2018 11:51

@Gem173 your midwife sounds completely tactless. At least last time when I was measuring similar they just said they wanted the scans to double check, and no mention of "abnormally small" babies. I think after my second growth scan they realised my bump was just setting its own growth line so as long as it stayed on that they left me be. Hopefully yours will do the same.

Gem173 · 27/06/2018 14:10

Yeah I hope they will understand my bump is growing just not like other people’s haha. Although I get the time to go to scans, it’s still a pain having to tell my boss etc and actually walk up the giant hill to get there!
@MamofFrankie I’ve always wondered where smaller women hide baby’s as heavy as 8/9 pounds !
We will have to see how heavy my little man is when he’s here.

Emmasmum2013 · 27/06/2018 15:43

I'm finally back from holiday! Got back late yesterday. It was such a lovely break. I'd have stayed there if I could have! There was a lovely posh hospital a stones throw from our hotel and we kept joking that if I ended up going into labour we can go there and extend the holiday 😂

No pregnancy issue while away, however I have developed an addiction to lemon iced tea. All you seem to be able to get here is peach, so I've ordered a job lot of the lemon flavour off amazon. It seems to be my latest pregnancy craving!

It's hot isn't it?! I'm sure it's hotter than Majorca here. Back to work tomorrow as well. I hope my boss is as understanding as yours @Gem173 but they'll probably just say something like "there's water in the tap if you get hot" haha

Glad we're all getting along nicely despite the odd hospital trip and growth scans.

@MamOfFrankie your bump and your figure are amazing! I just look like a bloated fat blob. Even my upper arms have gone all lumpy. And cellulite has appeared where there was never any before! Can't wait to be able to exercise properly again and burn it off.

MamOfFrankie · 27/06/2018 20:09

Thank you @Emmasmum2013 and @Gem173 - enjoying it for now as last time I started retaining fluid quite badly at around 36 weeks and ended up swelling like a balloon!

Work is killing me atm - sore back / hips / feet, you name it. Patience is in very low supply, which isn't ideal when dealing with stroppy teens who just want to be outside in the sunshine - might have to create an outdoor classroom from now until the end of term.

Emmasmum2013 · 28/06/2018 09:31

@Beesknees9

How are you getting on? Is everything ok now?

BeesKnees9 · 28/06/2018 10:26

@peterpanwendy oh you poor thing, I hope work was better yesterday and at least it's only one more day to the weekend Flowers

@MamofFrankie you look so well! Love your dress too

@Emmasmum2013 your holiday sounded lush, I am unashamedly jealous :D Also feeling like a bit of a blob at the moment, I think I am developing a fat back?! Very attractive. And thank you  Baby was quiet yesterday morning but was mega active by the evening which was lovely, and seems to be very active this morning too so who knows what all that was about! I have a midwife appointment on Friday so will see what she says, but I’m hoping it was just an off day.

NikkiL123 · 28/06/2018 12:51

Having such a shit day today, i am hot i feel humungous and also work didnt pay me my bonus this month because of something that was totally not my fault 😔.

Got 5 weeks and 1 day left until maternity leave but just want to finish now after them being so unfair, if i ever needed my bonus its 7 weeks before my baby is due 😢
Sorry for the rant ladies hope you are all ok and bumps are doing well xx

Emmasmum2013 · 28/06/2018 13:13

@NikkiL123 that's really shit. Is there nothing you can do about the bonus?

I feel massive too :( And the air con at work isn't working. 4 weeks to go.

NikkiL123 · 28/06/2018 13:30

@Emmasmum2013 nothing i can do as bonus is discretionary so they can do what they like with it 😔. I would rather just leave earlier than fall out with them before i go as i know that will have a bigger impact! going to talk to OH tonight see if financially we will be ok for me to leave earlier. Xx

Gem173 · 28/06/2018 14:33

@Emmasmum2013 your holiday sounds lush! Wish I was on holiday!
I have booked my first holiday away with baby for may next year so he will be 9 months old. Only going caravanning in Cornwall but feels right just to get out the house after being at home all that time.
@Beesknees9 I’m glad your baby’s moving again :) mine has quiet days too. But it always panics me because I can never remember the last time he was quiet!

@Nikkil123 I really hope your work allows you the time to leave earlier. Bit shit not getting your bonus especially when you feel shit and were looking forward to it.

I got an email from my new manager saying my maternity eform got rejected for not supplying the maternity documents. Which I did!! I think my new manager may have lost them, I’m seriously hoping this is the case. I cannot cope without maternity pay for someone else’s mistake

peterpanwendy · 28/06/2018 19:17

Another one feeling massive. I'm so uncomfortable as well, my back is in so much pain and I can't bend. Been getting some pains today as well under the bump, think I'm overdoing it at work.

Sorry to hear about your bonus @NikkiL123 :(

@Gem173 how useless I hope you get the mat pay sorted! Nice that you've booked your first holiday I want to go on one similar next year

Gizzymum · 28/06/2018 19:44

@Gem173 if it's your MAtB1 they've lost the midwife may be able to give another. Or did you photocopy the original? If work lost it they should make do with a copy surely 🤷🏻‍♀️

somersetsinger · 28/06/2018 20:31

Peterpanwendy (and anyone else with aches and pains) have you got a birthing ball? I sit on mine and move around gently and find it good for stretching everything out. Have to wait until DD is asleep though, as she just wants to bounce on it, which is not relaxing!

Gem173 · 29/06/2018 06:46

@Gizzymum I’m hoping a copy will do as that is all I have. If not then another trip to the midwife is in store! Will give them copies today and just hope for the best. It’s silly really, nothing with hr goes smoothly!

Peregrane · 29/06/2018 07:34

Has anyone looked at co-sleepers? This time I would like something that sits flush with my mattress/bed with its side permanently down, and I can’t tell from the reviews if the Snuzpod, the Chicco Next2Me or any of the others would provide that.

DC1’s cot bed is currently side-carred to mine, but there is a gap that I fill with a rolled-up towel, which would not be safe with a newborn. (My bed frame is less than an inch thick but the headboard of the cotbed sticks out so together they make for quite a gap.)

I don’t have any shops near me and have been ordered on bed rest...

BeesKnees9 · 29/06/2018 08:58

sorry to hear work messed up your bonus @NikkiL123, so annoying I hope they will put it into your next months pay or something?

@Gem173 that's weird, i agree they probably lost them or something. Hope you get it sorted!!

@Peregrane I have the Chicco Next2Me, as this is my first baby I haven't used it yet but its all set up! The Next2Me would sit flush with the mattress and I think there is a little fabric "lip" about 1-2 inches high when the side is rolled down to stop the baby wriggling directly onto your mattress. I can take a picture of mine next to the bed if that would help?

somersetsinger · 29/06/2018 08:59

I have the next to me from last time and will be using it again. It was a life saver - got it when DD was a few days old and my aching tummy just couldn't cope with lifting her in and out to feed in the night.

It does sit right next to the bed and you can strap it to the bed frame. You can alter the height so that it is just right. As the side zips down, there is still a little piece of material (one side of the zip, only a few mm high) between the baby's mattress and the bed mattress, which made sliding a sleeping baby from one to the other tricky. In retrospect, DD was a really difficult newborn (reflux and colic made her sick and angry for the first six months) so it could be even more effective with a calmer baby!

Emmasmum2013 · 29/06/2018 09:25

I think I might have a look into a co-sleeper type thing this time. I seem to remember the baby slept much better the closer she was to us, so I'd try and get the moses basket as close to the bed as possible.

I finally took a bump pic!!
From the front... I don't look very pregnant.. but from the side.... MEGA PREGGERS
Ignore my messy bathroom, the "cleaner" hasn't been in yet this week (i.e. I haven't got round to it haha)

Peregrane, push the mattress across and put the towel at the back instead rather than between the two mattresses. That's perfectly safe for a newborn if you plug ALL the gaps and the towel is an old scratchy one, not fluffy. That's how I had DS's cot from newborn last time.

Gem173 · 29/06/2018 15:50

My maternity pay should be sorted now. I have re handed it all back in and hopefully there’s no issues.
@emmasmum you have such a nice round bump! So jealous!

I’m just using a second hand Moses basket. Can’t really afford cribs that sit plush to the bed! Xx

peterpanwendy · 30/06/2018 10:32

@somersetsinger yes I do have one and have been sitting on it of an evening but half the time I'm so busy and get in so late I just eat dinner and go to bed!

I have a Moses basket too @Gem173 I hope this baby likes it as I know some don't! Mines a case of just not having the room for a next2me crib
