As we enter month 5 of our pregnancies we need a 5th thread!

Good luck to everyone having their 20 week scan this/next week :)

Aww @Gem173 I'm so glad he started moving. He must have been tucked behind the placenta or something all day!!

I swear it's easier after they are born and you can just have a look at them to make sure they are ok!
None of this kick counting and foetal monitoring.

Hope he's being good for his mum now!!

Gem173 · 10/06/2018 09:37

Thanks girls, he’s moved some this morning which is odd as he doesn’t usually but was nice to feel him :) just gunna relax today and see if he moves more!
@Nikkil123 I have a growth scan because my bump measures smaller than my weeks. They are doing it just to check baby is the right size or if he’s behind too xx

K8Higgy · 10/06/2018 22:10

Hi I’m new to mumsnet, due 25th Aug with #2. Not organised at all at the moment but suddenly feels like it is getting close!

Emmasmum2013 · 11/06/2018 08:47

Hi @K8Higgy! Glad to have you with us.

You're right it is getting close now! Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

TheMildManneredMilitant · 11/06/2018 09:31

Morning all. Glad everything was ok Gem that must have been really worrying.

Hi K8Higggy Smile

32+2 and just exhausted and so out of sorts. Only 4 weeks left at work but not sure if I'll make it that long. When's everyone else planning to finish?

NikkiL123 · 11/06/2018 09:46

@TheMildManneredMilitant i said i would go until 3rd August (due on 14th) but not convinced i will make it that far, feeling huge and uncomfortable since Friday and still 7 weeks to go 😫

Emmasmum2013 · 11/06/2018 10:01

I'm literally counting down the days until I finish work. The only issue at the moment is that I still don't have a final date yet. My annual leave is incorrect on the system and I need someone to tell me exactly how much I have got left, minus the bank holidays, so I know how much leave I can take before my official mat leave starts. I'm assuming it will be on or around the 26th July. Which seems like a lifetime away!!

I told DH this weekend that I am not doing any more shopping at the weekends. The shops are just a nightmare, always packed and I just want to sit down all the time. I'll start going to the shops again when I'm off work.

Gem173 · 11/06/2018 10:46

I finish work at 38 weeks! So 13th Aug. Long time for me yet. I’m not massive and think that I actually could make it that far!

somersetsinger · 11/06/2018 11:39

I'm finishing at the start of the school summer holidays, when I will be 38 weeks. Realistically, I won't be doing much for the last two weeks as everything winds down. So it should be do-able.

NikkiL123 · 11/06/2018 14:24

Is anyone else sick of being told how they must be feeling?!? People at work are driving me insane
"oh you must be so tired"
"oh you must not be sleeping at night"
"oh you must be struggling in this heat"
"Oh you must be finding it tough still at work"
Why assume just because i am pregnant i must be feeling like that?! Urghhh its seriously annoying me!

Gizzymum · 11/06/2018 15:51

@NikkiL123 I'm fed up of everyone asking "how are YOU feeling" with the obligatory glance at the bump. I feel fine, as always (sorry to those of you who are suffering😳) and I probably don't even know the person asking that well so if I felt like death I doubt I'd tell them.

I'm on annual leave between maternity leaves so at least I don't have to worry about my finishing date etc. DS1 starts settling in sessions at nursery at the end of June so that's my count down...

Gem173 · 11/06/2018 16:49

Omg... I cannot cope with this heat😩I’m sweating in all places! I hope it cools down, I’m not made for 20 degrees +. Really hope it’s not like this in August!

NikkiL123 · 11/06/2018 17:22

@Gizzymum exactly!! I feel fine too, there are some genuine people that have really suffered during pregnancy but thankfully i am not one of them! So whilst yes i do get tired sometimes and yes my sleep isnt as great as it used to be I FEEL FINE! Its just the assuming that i am going to feel awful thats winding me up!

@Gem173 #ThighRub #Killer!!

TheMildManneredMilitant · 11/06/2018 17:42

NikkiL123 that must be annoying if you feel fine. I'm the opposite - tick all of those boxes and wouldn't mind a bit of wallowing but because I don't want to make too much fuss think everyone assumes I'm fine.

NikkiL123 · 11/06/2018 17:51

@TheMildManneredMilitant sorry to hear you have had a rough time with it 😢 i know I've been lucky. We are on the home straight now and i hope it gets easier for you xx

K8Higgy · 11/06/2018 19:13

Hi @Emmasmum2013 and @TheMildManneredMilitant sorry for the late reply I’m having my second girl which is handy as even though I am unorganised I have plenty of things which I can reuse from the first time!

TheMildManneredMilitant · 11/06/2018 22:17

Ahh thanks NikkiL123 but really I'm just being a whinge bag - could be a lot worse :)

Gem173 · 12/06/2018 06:53

I so can’t wait for the first baby to come, out of us lot ! Will be so exciting! Really think I should pack hospital bag soon but I’m so bad for delaying it because I just can’t be bothered 😂 sorry some of you are feeling like shite, like @Nikkil123 said, we are so close to the end! For me I have 11 weeks left and that in itself seems unreal!

Emmasmum2013 · 12/06/2018 07:19

@K8Higgy snap!! Second girl for me too!

@Gem173 just think how fast the first 12 weeks went. We've got less than that to go now!

Gizzymum · 12/06/2018 07:35

@K8Higgy I'm on my second boy and am equally unorganised. I remember pretty much having everything ready by now with DS1, now I've pretty much everything still to do. 🤣😱

BertieBotts · 12/06/2018 07:53

I know, it's pretty exciting! I think we're all doing well to have got them so far though. Everyone must have passed 28 weeks by now? That s excellent in terms of the babies' health and chances.

SpriteGirl · 12/06/2018 08:19

32 weeks today. Off to visit a nursery this morning. Seems surreal when baby isn’t even here yet but if I don’t I might not get my preferred choice.

YouCantBeSirius · 12/06/2018 08:47

32+6 here now. The days just seem to be flying in and I'm finally feeling organised. The only thing I need to buy now is a rain cover for the pram.

WaitingforToto · 12/06/2018 09:14

28+3 for me 😀 it's gone weirdly fast and slow at the same time. Feels like forever since I got the positive line a week before Christmas but at the same time it feels like the time has flown by. @SpriteGirl I was considering a nursery visit too, I've found one I like the look of and know when I'll be going back to work so do you think it's worth getting a place sorted now?

NikkiL123 · 12/06/2018 09:17

This has reassured me, hopefully will be applied by August!
