Sorry to hear about your day @NikkiL123 I also had the drama of belly sticking out my tshirt today but luckily I am just at home and DP just laughs at me 😂

I am feeling hot and sick today it's crazy I'm dreading 7 more weeks of work in this! The countdown is on though, 37 more working days until mat leave!

Also I am so disorganised with babies things, there's stuff all over my house, MIL's house, my dad's house etc and her room is still a building site 😂 hopefully get it done this month.

You've all panicked me into getting my arse into gear! Nursery has been done for a while but I just shoved all his clothes in the draws so pulled everything out this afternoon and put into size order - I'm massively short on newborn vests but apart from that I think we're getting there now. I'm going for washable nappies (and wipes 😬) and the pile in 'nappy corner' is ridiculous haha. I've got a couple of bags of disposables to get me through the first days, and I've also bought a few packs of biodegradable nappies and wipes for ease which I need to get down from the loft. Pics attached!

@WaitingforToto Ikea wardrobe and chest of drawers by any chance? I think we've gone for an identical wardrobe and similar chest of drawers (and the same knobs). We got two rails plus two pull out shelves for the wardrobe as we figured that as he gets bigger we can just remove a rail/drawer.

WaitingforToto · 03/06/2018 20:21

Yes @FoxtrotSkarloey and @Gizzymum it's from Ikea - the chest of drawers is called Hemnes but annoyingly they don't do a wardrobe in that range in the same white finish so had to choose something similar. The quality isn't the best, the draws are ok but I doubt the wardrobe will last very long!

BertieBotts · 03/06/2018 20:34

More stuff today :) Big box of toys from a FB friend including about five things off my amazon wishlist except I paid her €3.50 for them - bargainous. And she threw in a load of extras as she is moving house and needs to get rid.

Plus I sorted out the buggy properly - brushed all of the hidden biscuit crumbs from the nooks and crannies, rerouted the harness into the smallest slots, downloaded and read the manual, put the harness pads back on, checked all of the poppers (damn poppers drove me insane by the end)

I am sorry if I'm making anyone feel unprepared 🙈 I don't think it's at all urgent to be doing these things right now but it's a lovely displacement activity so that I'm not constantly thinking about FIL and the funeral next week and all of the money we spent getting there and back. I think a little bit of nesting is probably kicking in as well.

BertieBotts · 03/06/2018 20:35

That sea theme is sooo cute and I love the little whale bodysuit - and the stars, awwwww :)

@FoxtrotSkarloey the wardrobe is from the PAX range where you can pick from a selection of doors, I can't remember the name of the door I went for but I'm pretty sure it started with a 'B'. The cotbed is from Mamas and Papas.

WaitingforToto · 03/06/2018 21:52

Just looked online @FoxtrotSkarloey - the wardrobe doors are called Bergsbo!

You're all so organised and tidy! I definitely need to kick my butt into gear.

Got more or less all the stuff set up, but the room still looks a tad untidy because of the travel system and cotbed taking up a lot of space at the moment. Can't wait to get them out closer to the due date! Also need to start washing clothes, thanks for reminding me!

Do any of you have anymore scans coming up? I've a 34 week scan on the 28th this month, first pregnancy so I am assuming this is normal!

couchgriffon · 03/06/2018 22:54

Forgot to add my pics!

couchgriffon · 03/06/2018 22:56

Not sure why they are not showing up, can anyone else see them? Ah well, if not, I'll try again later!

Nurseries are looking fab everyone!

couchgriffon depends where you are, in the uk it’s only usual to have scans at 12 and 20 weeks unless there’s a reason for a later scan ie growth scan or check placenta location etc. I have one coming up at 32 weeks because my placenta was low at 20 week scan.

DD is awake and I’m tired! Thankfully DH is in with her but I can’t sleep until I know she’s settled!

Gem173 · 04/06/2018 06:33

I’ve got only a private scan left on Father’s Day (17th June) where il be 29/30 weeks xx
Nurseries are fab everyone! Some lucky babies out there! Xx

SpriteGirl · 04/06/2018 08:25

I have growth scans at 32 (next week), 36 and 40 weeks (assuming i’m still in this predicament at 40 weeks, I’m trying to talk the baby into coming at 39 weeks). This is because my BMI was low at the start of my pregnancy.

WaitingforToto · 04/06/2018 08:52

No more scans for me as far as I know. Question for anyone who already has children - any recommendations for formula? Which brand I mean really, or does it not matter? I'm planning on breastfeeding but have been told to have a tub of formula ready just in case things don't go to plan.

BertieBotts · 04/06/2018 08:59

I have another one at 30 weeks but I'm not in the UK.

If you're getting formula in just in case I'd have thought a carton or three would be better than a tub, a tub goes off after a week of being opened (I think?), so if you only need to give an occasional bottle at first you'll waste most of it.

BertieBotts · 04/06/2018 09:04

And there are two schools of thought on whether having it there is a helpful reassurance or an unhelpful temptation. I'd personally recommend bookmarking the MN BF page and Kellymom, and putting the BF helplines on your fridge (I think NCT do a magnet) because I think there are better emergency measures to take than formula, but certainly one or two bottles is not going to spell the end and if you want to have that option in the middle of the night many people like to, and put the more BF-supportive plans into place in the morning when they have had some sleep.

Brands are comparable :) v highly regulated in the UK and they are not really supposed to market them so choose whichever you like. I think Hipp is the only organic one.

WaitingforToto · 04/06/2018 09:13

Thanks @BertieBotts - I think this was what I needed to hear! Two of my friends recommended getting formula 'just in case' but both did end up giving up with trying to BF and I can't help but think that because they had an option they maybe gave up too soon (easy to say I know as I've no experience, I don't want to offend anyone!) I'm determined to give it my best shot so I think I'll try your ideas of getting help with feeding instead of having formula on hand to fall back on. I also didn't know that the tubs went off quickly, and I hate waste so I want to avoid this! Thank you ☺️

YouCantBeSirius · 04/06/2018 09:19

I've got a growth scan booked for the 5th of July when I'll be 36 weeks. My consultant said it's not really necessary because I'm having a planned cesarean anyway but I'm having it.

My mum has been beside herself with excitement for the new baby, she's crocheted 13 blankets of varying sizes Grin brings my total up to 21. She's also had a friend knit some beautiful cardigans for the winter.

Your nurseries and baby clothes are all so gorgeous!! I'm feeling a bit behind with the baby stuff if I'm honest. We've got most of the tings we need, I just need to get it all organised and put away.

I had to redecorate the nursery.. we originally did it like a pale mint green on one wall and white for the others and was going to have neon and coral accents... like the attached.
But when it was done I just wasn't in love with it.. plus it was quite hard to get nice accessories and stuff for that theme that weren't all about £50 a pop off Etsy. So I went with pale grey and blush pink. You can get things in that theme anywhere at the moment. Its not finished yet, I need some stuff for the walls. But attached was my pic I went off for inspiration. Don't think I'll be going for a gold cot though!!!

So far I've made my downstairs loo and upstairs bathroom, and the living room and DD's room look nice.. we'd not really done a lot since we moved in (4 years ago.. ooops) so its looking loads more homely now! I'll get round to the babies room eventually haha. Still need to do do the kitchen and back room though but I am enjoying getting it all sorted.
