As we enter month 5 of our pregnancies we need a 5th thread!

Good luck to everyone having their 20 week scan this/next week :)

Going to look at the Mutsy Evo tomorrow and hopefully we like it - I haven't read a single bad review and everyone seems to rave about it. Prams have got soooo expensive even since DS I swear the high end ones were about £4-500 and I thought that was a lot then - how can it have doubled in 10 years?? And DH's sister is horrified we're considering paying €200 for a second hand one - but her children are all teenagers so things were even cheaper then! The hilarious thing is I know if she was having a baby now she'd absolutely settle for nothing less than the latest iCandy or bugaboo!

Baby has definitely started to react in the last two days to cold drinks and ice cream! Poor thing I said to DS it's a bit like being asleep and someone puts ice down your back. He said he would kick too :o

nikkil123 · 09/05/2018 21:27

bertiebotts hadnt heard of that one just googled it, it's lovely! I know the prices are outrageous, i work for a high end car dealership so always seeing the icandys etc thinking jheez they spent silly money.
I've ordered a carrycot, pushchair seat unit, car seat with isofix base, footmuff and rain cover from Ickle Bubba all for £500 x

Gem173 · 09/05/2018 21:52

Feeling better now just sat feeling baby love :) although I do have a nasty red gash on my head from the cupboard! I just got my pram from mothercare, £300 for the pram, carrycot and car seat. We also bought an joie isofix base+ car seat for £500 for our car as my family will use the prams car seat for smaller trips !

Move *

SpriteGirl · 09/05/2018 22:08

@nikkil123 I am in Hertfordshire also, where abouts are you? Smile

Yep my arm was really sort after whooping cough too. Just turning over in bed really hurt!

@Gem173 are you feeling your baby move now? I have an anterior placenta too and remember at my 24 week appointment saying I think what I’m feeling is the baby moving... fast forward three weeks and I get movement everyday throughout the day.

nikkil123 · 09/05/2018 22:10

spritegirl hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm in Knebworth, where abouts are you? How far along are you? X

BertieBotts · 09/05/2018 22:21

Yes I think they are more common in Germany than the UK, it's a Dutch company apparently, but even on MN they have been talked about so I'm sure they must sell them there as well. Anyway really pleased to find one at such a good price and apparently it's only been used for 18 months so we'll see!

SpriteGirl · 09/05/2018 22:38

nikkil123 I’m in Kings Langley and 27weeks 😊

CumbrianExile · 09/05/2018 22:48

Sprite I totally read that as Kings Landing. As in game of thrones Grin

SpriteGirl · 09/05/2018 23:12

Lol yes. It did actually change its name temporarily to Kings Landing a few years back in honour of game of thrones but that was before we moved here. Not nearly as exciting as Kings Landing!

Gem173 · 10/05/2018 06:29

@Spritegirl yes last week I felt movement for one whole night and since then hasn’t done it till yesterday. Like the midwife said to me it’s probably because I’m so busy rushing around I don’t usually stay sat down for long to notice him. I sat down from 7-10pm last night and he only started moving at 9:30pm!

Emmasmum2013 · 10/05/2018 08:52

Gem are you happy with your pram? We built ours a couple of weeks ago to see how it was and make sure everything was there.
I absolutely love it.. its so easy to put the car seat on the frame and change it from pram to buggy when they're older. I'm gonna love going for walks with that :)

Also, was I meant to have a midwife appt at 24 weeks? Midwife is only at the practice on Friday mornings and she was fully booked for tomorrow, so had to book in on the 18th. Hope I've not missed anything Blush

SpriteGirl · 10/05/2018 09:10

24 week is only with your first baby I think, so depends if it's your first or not. It's just urine and blood pressure etc. My midwife told me they don't start measuring bump until 28 weeks. Bloods at 28 weeks too.

Emmasmum2013 · 10/05/2018 10:10

Ah right I see!! Cool, I can re-arrange it for a couple of weeks then. Thanks! All the advice online is if its your first baby, not subsequent babies!!

Emmasmum2013 · 10/05/2018 10:11

To be honest I think I want to see her anyway as I've been really dizzy and tired lately. So not sure if I'm maybe a bit anaemic.

nikkil123 · 10/05/2018 10:32

emmasmum2013 i had bump measured last week (25 weeks) not sure if its because its my first though? And just did urine test no bloods

BertieBotts · 10/05/2018 10:39

Just picked up pram and it's gorgeous!! The people who were selling it couldn't find the adapters for the car seat so they reduced the price and if they find them later (they are moving house before we are due) then they'll get in touch and we can buy them separately. Brill! It only JUST fits in our teeny car - lol - but it does fit. We've done a quick trial run round the block through the woods at the back.

The colour is fab - a really vibrant, slightly metallic kind of teal. I'm excited to get the baby in there now :)

BertieBotts · 10/05/2018 11:53

Excuse my messy room! But loooook :o

Gem173 · 10/05/2018 16:13

Looks like a lovely pram @nikkil123! And I’m not sure about the frame, my grandparents bought it for me, il ask them later when I see it. I keep the baby photo next to my bed on the bedside table :)

BertieBotts · 10/05/2018 17:45

Not too scary. More exciting! :) Previous loss has meant it's been harder to get excited but now it feels like we are properly preparing rather than just thinking about it maybe happening in the future.
