@PopTheRainbowdrops I'm the same! Constantly seam to be cold but with random hot flushes!!

Kit17 · 29/04/2018 20:36

I'm hoping I've lost some weight this week to make up for feeling so rubbish! I'm not being sick (fingers crossed that lasts!) but constantly feel like I might be at any moment. I'm also really lethargic and on and off dizzy. Bleargh! Confused

The last couple of days I have been really cold as well. I'm 6+2

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 29/04/2018 21:21

Hi everyone, @Kit17 I totally feel your pain. I'm hunched over a bowl at all times right now but nothing is actually happening.

Does anyone else feel nervous about the rest of pregnancy? I might be being stupid and it's probably because this is my first time, but this weekend I've felt quite overwhelmed by the unknown. Being this sick is making it worse I think. If the next 8 months are like this it's going to be awful!

Sorry to put a downer on the evening!

PopTheRainbowdrops · 29/04/2018 21:33

I feel horrible now, but I know with my first it did get better and I was able to cope with the world. That's what I'm clinging on to now!
Loulou I'm also getting twinges and cramps. I assume it's everything stretching!

nisyrios · 29/04/2018 21:42

Hello!
I'm an expectant first-time dad at 6+6 and a due date in mid-December.

This is the third time we've gone through IVF (third time lucky!) and we had a miscarriage in 2014. Due to this, my wife is generally negative in the prospect of getting even the least excited for our long-awaited pregnancy, because she's afraid that she will be terribly disappointed if something goes wrong.

On the other hand, I think that I will be able to keep myself together in case we have another miscarriage, so I try to read and learn as much as I can in these early stages of pregnancy, before being consumed in the practicalities of the coming months.

Our midwife and two early ultrasounds show that everything is alright so far, and I guess that if something is to go wrong, it will go wrong irrespective if we worry or not. Does any of you mums feel scared to be happy about the pregnancy? I'm afraid that my wife will regret it later.

balalalala · 29/04/2018 21:52

Nice to have a dad on board @nisyrios! I won't pretend to understand what you have been through, but fingers crossed everything works out for you this time round. I do get feeling scared to be happy though; it's just the way some people prepare themselves. By not allowing themselves or at least not verbalising it, you can protect yourself from an element of pain should the worst happen. Hopefully with every milestone you pass your wife will be able to get a little bit more excited as she feels a bit safer in the journey.

PopTheRainbowdrops · 29/04/2018 21:54

You are right, what will go wrong will go wrong if you worry about it or don't. Personally I haven't had a miscarriage, but I can definitely understand your wife wanting to protect herself from potential pain, it must be heartbreaking to have to go through two failed cycles, and still have the strength to try a third. She might regret it, but honestly, I'm on my second pregnancy, and a lot of my first I've forgotten. If it gets really bad then she might have prenatal depression, but 6/7 weeks is very early in the journey (I'm still in denial!)

MagicalCreatures · 29/04/2018 23:01

@nisyrios it’s lovely to hear how supportive you are being. And doing your own research into pregnancy etc. Welcome aboard and fingers crossed your dreams finally come true.

Loulou I’m having a lot of stretching pains at the moment. I’m 5+3.

Also had a small amount of brown spotting today so really hoping everything is ok. I’ve got a private scan booked for next Monday x

Rachie1986 · 30/04/2018 07:17

I'm only 9w but clothes have started not fitting :-(. It's my 2nd if that makes a difference?

Don't want to dig out the maternity clothes yet but getting a bit desperate and rather uncomfortable :-(

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 11:27

Can I very tentatively hop on?

I'm 6 weeks today (I think) after 3 miscarriages (5 weeks, 5 weeks and MMC at 9 weeks but baby died around 5). Had D+C mid February, bled for 3 weeks after and had a peculiar stop/start period in March (only a week after miscarriage bleeding stopped) which is why my dates might be a little off.

Was waiting for surgery (supposed to be this Friday) but somehow conceived through a condom!

I've been a nervous wreck, had an early private scan on Saturday morning after some bleeding and saw a tiny bean with a just visible heartbeat flicker. Measured 5+4.

Hoping this is my lucky time! Will need a cervical stitch placed at 12 weeks if I get that far as have a short cervix so I don't think I'll be able to relax at any point but I'm doing my best as I can't do anything to avoid it going wrong really!

emwithme · 30/04/2018 11:27

I've had to get my fat clothes out (I lost 7 stone before getting pregnant so kept clothes a couple of sizes bigger with this in mind) too. Have bought new leggings and jeans (just supermarket) though as my old ones were a bit knackered.

Had a call from the doctors this morning. My urine sample taken at booking showed a UTI so there's a script for antibiotics waiting at the pharmacy for me. Yay Hmm

Still feeling super-nauseous despite being prescribed prochlorperazine and I'm not sure how I'll cope with being back at work tomorrow (had last 10 days off).

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 11:29

@Rachie1986 during my MMC I got really bloated and found some "treggings" in M+S which are basically trousers with a wide soft stretchy waistband- found them really comfortable if that helps.

I have a 4 year old so it's been ages since I've had a successful pregnancy.

Stephisaur · 30/04/2018 11:40

Welcome newbies!

emwithme · 30/04/2018 11:58

And there starts the puking. 8+4 today. Just went to get a drink and had to sprint to bathroom. Never actually been sick during pregnancy before (first got to 7+5, second was MMC detected at 12w but bean was 9+5). Am taking this as a good but awful sign.

December2018 · 30/04/2018 13:15

Im having some pink/red spotting today and backache and cramps im absolutely petrified!!! 😢😢😢

orangekitkat13 · 30/04/2018 13:28

@December2018 me too. Just been to the loo and had a small amount of pale Pom blood, had period pain type cramps on and off all morning.

What do I do?

orangekitkat13 · 30/04/2018 13:29

Pale pink blood that was meant to say

December2018 · 30/04/2018 13:31

Yeah mine is pale pink too I rang the hospital and they said as long as it's not bright red or with clots it's completely normal, but if it does get any worse I'll have to go in, she said get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids .... I refuse to move from my sofa now! X

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 13:34

I’ve had some spotting since Saturday morning, I was sure it was miscarriage 4 starting but an ultrasound showed a little subchorionic haematoma. The sonographer said it’s very common and not usually a cause for problems. Still waiting to hear back from my EPU about a scan at 7 weeks.

orangekitkat13 · 30/04/2018 13:35

@December2018 ok thanks, I'm so on edge now! Was going to tell my work this afternoon (need to tell them early) but not sure now!

orangekitkat13 · 30/04/2018 13:36

@Paranormalbouquet glad to hear your little bean is doing ok still.

December2018 · 30/04/2018 13:36

I've just rang work and they have given me the night off so I can rest... I would tell them I'm sure they will understand xx

orangekitkat13 · 30/04/2018 13:45

@December2018 I just do know, want to be excited with them when I tell them and I think I'm too on edge now!
