One day i WILL spell your name right T!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 20:03

Evening!

Feeling better now, a nice bath sorted me out! I am now sorting out baby clothes into size piles! They are sooooo cute! I wish june would hurry up, I want to meet him and put him in a teeny vest!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 20:08

how lovely! I nearly got mine out yesterday but decided it was too soon. Am a bit but I won't be when you all start birthing!

daisybump · 10/05/2007 20:15

LOL Foxy..they'll probably just end up arguing over the cost and leave you destitute.

I'm expecting nothing less than a granny flat in DSs back garden. Although he has said he's going to stay here with DH and I forever, and if he gets married than his wife and children can live here too.....no amount of persuading him that he really won't want to live with his decrepit old parents...

Spoke to my lovely husband earlier and explained to him how I've been feeling and how farking scared I am about being here on my own with DS and a baby to look after, when I'm barely doing the job at the moment and there's only us two. I told him that I was missing my family and felt like going back up there as at least I would have someone around I could rely on (DHs parents are supposed to be looking after DS when I'm in labour, but they've booked their holidays for the two weeks prior to my EDD). My mum is ill as well and it's difficult when I can't be there for her...I was a little bit tearful to say the least and hung up cos I was starting to sob and DS needed attending to and he hasn't bothered ringing back.....mind you he might have been trying as I've been on the phone to my sis for nearly an hour.

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 20:21

aw Daisy (((((hugs)))) poor you.

You will cope with the two lo's - but honestly? it isn't easy at first. All I can say is take it easy and try not to do everything all at the same time. It takes a while for us to balance things out and find our way through it, but then it comes good. The first 6 weeks are the hardest I think. In some ways the older one's needs come first IMO because they demand and are more emotional. The newborns needs are much more basic.

Lots of cuddling in, watching CBeebies under a blanket and biscuits are my prescription for the early weeks!

That's shocking about his parents holiday! Dur!

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 20:22

oh, this is good: why sterilisers aren't necessary

I always hated mine anyway so I've literally just stuck it in the bin outside, and it will be gone with the collection tomorrow morning! I feel so free!!!! Hoo-ray!!!

Now if I could only decide the very best way to make up a bottle of formula, I'd be set. All this nonsense about having to use boiling water then cooling it before use. FFS.

Daisy is it poss that your DH now just doesn't know what to say? Sounds like you want to leave now to spend time with your parents, is that what you're thinking?

derlor · 10/05/2007 20:38

evening girlies,

have to say we never steralised anything for DD - she was BF but i expressed A LOT and just fed her through well cleaned bottles - she is still alive by the way!!!!

Natty - for you i agree about a sit in or claiming single mother in distress!

Daisy (((((hugs))))) i'm sure DH will call you soon and all will be well - funny my IL's are off on holiday the week before my EDD as well - WTF is that about?????

Sputnik - cervix yippee!!!!!!

spent a lot of last night up with DD who was hot and vomiting - we slept till lunchtime today and she is back to normal again tonight - phew

i need chocolate back soon x

Thats a great thread about the sterilising.

Hope DD is better tonight Derlor. There's always something, isn't there? Hows DS? Does he actually have Glandular Fever?

derlor · 10/05/2007 20:56

Hi Foxy - yeah DS is back to normal after a week of antibiotics and lots of rest - don't know what was actually up with him - never will!!
hopefully a night of sleep for DD and full recovery tomorrow.
we were at his parens night earlier and i simply have to gloat - he is polite, kind and extreemly clever -(gets it all from me ) teachers have put him and 2 others in a separate group cause normal class work is not challenging him enough!!!! how proud are we???
OK proud parent moment over i'll shut up now.

notsolilKel · 10/05/2007 20:57

derlor · 10/05/2007 20:57

OP posts:
foxybrown · 10/05/2007 20:58

That's lovely Derlor! Obviously takes after you

derlor · 10/05/2007 20:58

their dad is really clever!!!! - and my sister

OP posts:
foxybrown · 10/05/2007 20:58

LOL

Its Ok, you can't be clever and pg at the same time IME!

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 21:02

Daisy (((hugs)))! I'm sure you will cope brilliantly with two and I'm sure mystic red ranger will help you out. Your dh is probably not sure of what to say or do atm. I bet he is feeling a bit upset about being away from you all the time, I know my dp would be. When he is away it makes him tired and a bit angry and he misses being at home with us. That is prob how your dh feels.

Glad your dd is better derlor!

I have lots of teeny vests, sleepsuits and socks, they are great. Dd was helping me sort the out and she was telling me all about "baby Will Will" and how he is in my tummy and he is going to wear little clothes! She has even taken one of the little sleepsuits to bed with her!

derlor · 10/05/2007 21:05

i agree Foxy - great excuse
i've just managed to lose the top of the page somehow, don't know what i pressed
oh hustle is starting - i like this programme i've got such an exciting life huh!!!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 21:06

Bless little Alice - that's so sweet!

I think we have to remember that men have a wobble when they are going to be a dad, either first time or again. I've found that amongst my friends it tends to mean they go out on a bender until 5 am!

derlor · 10/05/2007 21:10

oh Holly how cute is your LO!
my DD runs through to the nursery every morning now and checks to see if the baby is in the cot yet - I wish!!!!
Daisy when i had DD my DH at that time worked away from home 2 weeks at a time. DS was 4.5 and he was a FAB help to me - i was SO organised and coped much better that when i had DS - so don't panic it CAN be done - we're here for you as well remember x

hollyandalice · 10/05/2007 21:21

Awww bless her derlor, it won't be long til it is full of small person! I need to get my moses basket down from the loft, but it is full of dd's newborn clothes and I think it'll make me cry! She is such a big girl now!

daisybump · 10/05/2007 21:32

Cheers guys ...I can't see how to figure this one out as he just gets all moody and defensive when I try to tell him how I feel. Our daily phone call is usually made when he's driving from work to his digs like he's just fitting us in. And you all know how pregnant brains work....its making me think the worst. Anyway...enough of all my nonsense problems....he'll come home tomorrow and mope around the house like an injured dog until I have to aplolgise for my hormonal emotional state and then next week he'll make an effort for one, maybe two days at the most and we'll be back to square one.

DS is really looking forward to helping with the baby...he said he'll help me wash her and change her nappy and feed her. When I said she'd be getting milk form my boobies to start with, he piped up..."I can hold your booby for her"...Bless him! It's going to be interesting around here, that's for sure.

LOL Derlor...you must be bursting with pride.

Interesting thread about sterilising....

Any news of SOH?.....

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 21:38

Don't worry Daisybump, DP has gone for a night out with work tonight. Haven't been able to get hold of him, been trying for the last two hours and he didn't call to say goodnight to the children.

I KNOW I am being MAD!

He's probably in a basement bar slagging off his boss.

daisybump · 10/05/2007 21:48

the funny thing is..I know a lot of this is just hormone/tiredness induced madness and will pass in a day or two.....All I need is a "shut up you daft cow, come and have a cuddle", but it doesn't have quite the same effect when you've had to scream and shout for it!

My pelvic floor has just given way . I was sitting here on my bouncy ball quite the thing....not particulary needing a wee....stood up to get some chocolate....and wet myself ...and it's def wee, not waters bursting...although I'm sure that is def TMI

I hate being PG.....rent...I'll be performing my own bloody c-section if this goes on for much longer

Right...I'm going to cheer up now......when you've scraped the bottom of the barrel and are basically incontinent...the only way is up really

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 21:53

Oh I am sorry to laugh at your incontinence, honestly I am!

I know what you mean about having to ask for a cuddle - they just aren't terribly receptive are they?

I've now convinced myself that DP is off sipping champagne with a 23 yo with a flat tummy and belly button ring (or just a belly button thats not inside out!) somewhere 'up West' having spent a passionate hour or two somewhere!!! YES I AM BEING A MAD HORMONAL WITCH

WAIT TIL HE GETS HOME!!!

Am going to try and get a grip right about now!!!

daisybump · 10/05/2007 21:53

God...have I scared eveybody off with my constant droning?

....Come back...I'm not going to mention it again. I've cheered up now....honest. See, I'm even smiling

derlor · 10/05/2007 21:54

oh Daisy sorry but i just PMSL at your incontinence - not literally like you though
i did however sneeze the other day without notice and also manages to pee myself a little (well quite a lot actually) had to go and get changed
it comes to us all i suppose - altogether now pelvic floor in and hold for 10.....
