owwww Laksa!!!!! tell dh to be careful with those scissors. My friend once did something similar, she was sitting the wrong way round on the loo (ie facing the cistern) trimming herself, and she snipped one of her labia!!! ewwwwwww! Painful ain't the word!

sorry to hear about the hayfever tc, my poor cousin was all over the place at the weekend, it must be pretty bad at the moment. We'll all have to pray for a bit of rain to dampen it down a bit!

Nettee - I'm not expert but I don't do ironing either. I'm reliably informed by my sister that most school uniforms are non iron!!!! woohooo!! Looong way off for me though!

LOL at penny and the no contact lenses rule... I'm going to give it a go. I'm not terribly short sighted so if I don't wear my lenses I drift around in a slightly blurred state not noticing anything other than that which is necessary for my own safety!

I too am glad to hear the news about no internals. I've never forgotten my friend telling me when we were teenagers that having her cervix measured for dilation during labour was one of the most painful things she'd ever experienced. Mind you, she was a bit of a drama queen then!

ThomCat · 14/06/2007 15:54

oh no I haven't. Thanks for that tip. How attractive! LOL!

Holly29 · 14/06/2007 16:00

Thomcat

I suffer from really bad hayfever and on one of my appointments I asked to see an obstetrician (about something else) and I took the opportunity to ask him about this and he said that Flexonase (spelling?) is perfectly fine and safe, and I could take it. I have ever since. I don't know if that helps, but he said pharmacists are trained to say to pg women that they can't take anything because there is no research on these things and they don't want to be sued but the truth is that a local anti-hayfever thing (as opposed to a tablet which you ingest) is fine. There is no adverse research on it at all and no indication that any baby has ever been harmed by it.

ThomCat · 14/06/2007 16:39

Holly - I think I love you! Going to explore that, a thousand, thousand thank yous

Holly29 · 14/06/2007 16:55

You're so welcome. I survive on a daily diet of Flexonase spray and Opticrom drops for my eyes. I used to used Beconase before pg, but the obstetrician said he recommended that one less. My baby seems perfectly healthy - he has been pretty much perfect at all my scans and he is certainly active enough! Good luck.

seamonster · 14/06/2007 17:23

hi everyone, how are you all doing? Sneezing isn't good, I have to stop what I'm doing and sneeze. I get hayfever/asthma so am suffering as well, I do the vaseline round my nose and eyes, it kind of helps as long as you remember not to rub it in!
Its been showery all day and we've had a rumble of thunder just now.
I'm starting to think about bulk buying food etc and stocking the freezer ready (for the summer hols as well as baby time) so if any one has ideas they'd be welcome. Dp is out looking for a car at the weekend so that will be nice.
About the school uniform, most uniforms are non iron, I think its the places with shirts etc that aren't.

Pennypops · 14/06/2007 17:44

Laksa I couldn't help but laugh my head off at your post re somewhat personal injuries. And Mrs Mar - OUCH is all I can say. Puts my back niggles into perspective thats for sure.....

Hopeitwontbebig · 14/06/2007 17:53

Hi all. Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. Had a bit of a heart to heart with DH on phone this morning, we both got very upset, BROKE MY HEART that he was so upset, really not like him. It's a shame he's in Finland as I desperately needed to hug him . Had a lovely chat tonight though so that's all good. Going to eat my birthday dinner tonight as I'd lost my appetite lastnight and only had a banana. Baby was not happy and complained with lots of kicks. I'll make up for lost calories tonight!

You're all so funny re lady garden. Funny coincidence really I was only looking down earlier today thinking that I was getting to the stage where you can't see it anymore and 'hmm maybe time for a tidy whilst I can just about reach still!'

I love this board, we're all so frank and honest it's great!

Hi all,

I've had hayfever lately too, especially at night time - that flexonase sounds good so I'll see if I can get some!

LOL at your dh laksa, sounds very painful to say the least! I've decided to take care of my lady garden towards the end of the pg just so I'm not conscious of it when I do go into labour. It hadn't even crossed my mind with DS and DD but this time I'm much more wary of these sorts of things!

I've been having a field day on ebay lately! We still have DS and DD's cot bed so need to get a mattress. Having done a bit of research I was convinced we'd be looking at at least £100 for a decent new one but I've found a baby mattress shop on ebay and I can get one for £35 incl postage - bargain!!! Also, I'm getting the moses basket with a stand for £26 and cot bed sheets for a couple of quid. I'm rather pleased with myself!!

Only 2 weeks left at work - can't wait!!! Have been at home all day nursing my 9yo DD as she has a sickness bug. I feel awful because I'd usually sit and cuddle her and comfort her but I don't want to catch it so I've just been rubbing her back then keeping my distance - how awful!!!

Has anybody else been getting the nesting thing? Although I'm knackered and my hips are killing me, I've started really getting into keeping on top of the housework which is most uncharacteristic for me!!!

PurpleLostPrincess · 14/06/2007 18:05

Hi HIWBB, crossed posts! Happy Birthday to you!! Maybe the baby liked the banana and was moving around in happiness!? I've been avoiding them lately in case they make my constipation worse

Hopeitwontbebig · 14/06/2007 18:25

Don't want to look like this when we go into labour.

OP posts:
MrsFish · 14/06/2007 18:25

The nesting bug hasn't bitten me yet, I feel so knackered all the time, even after a decent nights sleep I am still really tired when I wake up, it feels like the first trimester all over again.
