Nothing wrong with naughtyness, need something to spice up our lives..!! just not about our babies cos thats dark! lOL!

MrsMar · 18/05/2007 14:22

Nah, doesn't want to upload my pdfs...

I did find this ultrasound picture of a boy which looks very similar to mine.

The girls ones (for comparisom) look like this

Apparently there are three lines between the legs for girls, and quite an obvious sticky up bit for a boy. You can usually see the bottom half of their legs either side so I imagine it's hard to confuse it with the cord.

loobybump · 18/05/2007 14:25

oooo ITS not sticky up although i guess mine way laying funny and moving every moment agh well maybe i should just wait till baby pops out!! LOL

Rin23 · 18/05/2007 14:37

I support naughtiness really!

I can't work out those piccies - being a 20 week scan virgin (if you see what I mean, i.e. I haven't had my scan yet ). less than one week to go!

MrsMar · 18/05/2007 14:48

Rin, all will become clear... it's wierd because you have to think of it in slices really (sorry if that's gross) the ultrasound bounces off whats nearest it, as the sonographer explained, which is why the legs look like little stumps either side. It's just that they're bent upwards, and you can only see the thigh at the bottom that is lying flat IYSWIM. It does become much clearer when you see it as a moving image though.

Looby, mine was all over the place too, I was really hungry and I think he was protesting! the sonographer had to that funny thing when they prod your tummy and really make it wobble to get him to move about so we could see his face.. he kept hiding!

loobybump · 18/05/2007 14:51

OOO not long!! you going to find out rin?

Naughty naughty naughty need something to fill my time my DP doesn't seem to recognise the signs of his pregnant partner feeling rampant in fatc - rabbit on heat! lol

Rin23 · 18/05/2007 14:52

Ah yes that does make a bit more sense, thanks Mrsmar - I was a bit worried about that LO's legs!

loobybump · 18/05/2007 14:53

Mrs mar- I needed to pee badly and the guy kept pushing on my bladder u have to go with a supper full bladder so u get good pics. My baby a poser i think likes the camera hahah!

Rin23 · 18/05/2007 14:54

and yes hope to find out sex... quite excited, nervous too, etc!
Know what you mean re rampant & DH not noticing, it's hard to flirt with a big belly...

loobybump · 18/05/2007 14:59

its hard to do anything with a b;loody belly! lol ooo how exciting keep us posted on ur scan

MrsMar · 18/05/2007 15:23

I didn't have to have a full bladder for my scan, nor for the 16 week. I think different machines need a full bladder. As it was, I did need the loo (as ever!) and I was starving hungry, so I'm sure that's why he was bouncing around. I don't regret finding out the sex at all, I'm really happy, dh has now started saying "take care of my little boy" everytime we say good bye (puts it in every email to me too!!) It just feels really nice to know... but that could just be me being soppy!

loobybump · 18/05/2007 15:36

No Mrs Mar thats lovely i think ur husband sounds very lovely and supportive v blessed to have that! :-) My Dp wanted to find out but i didnt want to think i chose not to as all mu friends had found out. and for me personally it would be like opening x mas present early. though as u can tell i kinda wanna know. hahah!

Pennypops · 18/05/2007 15:37

Hi everyone,

Been away for a few days. Long story short - bleeding kicked in again early this week. Went to clinic on Wed and they decided to keep me on for 24 hours because they thought I might have had a minor abruption and were worried about it getting worse. They told me they wanted to keep me in just in case so they could do an emergency delivery if needs be because at 24 weeks the baby stands a fighting chance. Was still scared as hell. DH was out of country for work so all fairly rubbish really. However, all calmed down overnight and I got let out yesterday! Baby is fine and not in distress at all - unlike its mother. They think I have a cervical erosion and thats been causing bleeding - still not 100% sure what this even is but given that it won't hurt my baby I don't really care. DH back now all the fuss is over. Typical.

Its taken me a while to catch up - had a giggle at some of the ruder posts!!

MrsMar & MrsFish - congrats on your scans - some more boys! Such lovely news I look forward to hearing your name suggestions as I am still a bit short on boy names. I am more convinced with every day that passes that my bump is a boy too!

Loobybump - welcome and I can't believe someone said you shoudn't wear heels. Cheeky mare. The pregnancy police can do one quite frankly.

Chatty - I haven't checked your other thread yet but I will and will comment there. I hope so much that you manage to get things on a better level over the weekend. You really don't need this. Good luck xx

As for all this chat about the size of our babies I'm too scared to think about it. I have always been in possession of what my Granny would call child bearing hips! Hopefully this means I'll manage reasonably well if we have a biggish baby although I can't seem to find a guarantee anywhere.

Sorry if I have missed anyone out but catching up on even a day or two can take quite a while now. I wish everyone a lovely weekend xx

loobybump · 18/05/2007 15:47

Hi Penny
sorry to hear you have had a rough time of it.. glad baby is well and safe though and you also just keep ya feet up now and make hubby run around after you. As you deserve it!!! i know can u believe it some woman telling me off about heels.. B1atchh! lol

MrsMar · 18/05/2007 15:50

Hi penny - sorry to hear you've been through such a hellish couple of days. I must admit I do thank my lucky stars I haven't had any problems because I think I'd fall apart, you sound so calm! I hope things continue to improve!

We're still battling on names.... He really wants Enzo, I want Luca. It'll be a battle of wills to the end (when I'll win! hahahahahahahahahahaaha!)

Looby, he is a sweetie and I am blessed! He's more of a kid than any child could be though, you may have to ask me that again in, say a couple of years, when I have a toddler and a 38 year old baby!

loobybump · 18/05/2007 16:03

well now u told me he still acting like a kid i dont feel to bad my DP is 28 and i was praying he would eventually grow up obviously not so i have a few years left of still cleaning up after him.

Quickly say something random.. i only started on here a few days ago and i had worrys and i was stressed up to my eye balls but the past few days everything has become alot easier and i haven't felt as p1ssed off and isolated. so Thanks every 1!

Holly29 · 18/05/2007 16:13

Penny,

Sorry to hear about your rubbish few days... It really doesn't help that you other half was away too, and I'm so glad that you feel better now. Who'd be pg, eh? (em, all of us...)

MrsMar, your DH sounds like such a sweetie. Mine is also getting to the cute stage (sometimes) and my favourites are - (a) he used to say 'Night night baby' to me when we went to sleep and now he says 'night, night babies!' (bless) and (b) the other day I complained that my wee one was kicking madly he sent me an email which said "NAME is not to biff his Mum!"

Honestly, it's enough to make a grown woman cry (and I frequently do).

Rin23 · 18/05/2007 16:15

Pennypops - really sorry to hear about bleeding, you poor thing. Though great news that it hasn't affected the baby. Good luck with it all.
Looby - yes it's great to have an outlet like MN - otherwise the people in my office/ life would get rather bored with baby ramblings!

Pennypops · 18/05/2007 16:19

Believe me I may be calm now - on Wednesday it was a very different story. Chatting to my Mumsnet friends cheers me up.

For what its worth MrsMar & Looby my DH has something of the child about him as well. My Mum said that the way he opened his Xmas presents, very slowly, one at a time and then immediately started taking apart anything gadgety made her think he had a certain boyish quality!! I just think its cute

I know he'll be on cloud 9 whatever flavour our LO turns out to be but I also know he's be absolutely thrilled if he had a boy who could play sports with him in the garden. Preferably rugby.

loobybump · 18/05/2007 16:31

is it bad that im worried if i had a girl all dp's attention would then be taken off me... does that make me really bad! that thought just popped into my head and im like o my i feel bad for thinking that!

MrsFish · 18/05/2007 16:41

Hi Penny, glad things are ok for you now.

Regards DH's mine is the biggest kid ever, spends more time playing with DS's lego than helping him with it. He is so chuffed we are having another boy, I think it is because he has such fond memories of him and his brother growing up and our two will have the same age difference that he and his brother have. His mum didn't seem overly thrilled for us though, I think its because she would have liked a girl, but its just tough titties

We are torn between Ben and Max for names, but I think it will end up being Ben

Pennypops · 18/05/2007 16:44

Looby - the same thought did occur to me. I know what a Daddys girl I was and I'm sure I'd get jealous sometimes. DH would be a useless pushover on the discipline front also I think if we had a girl.

loobybump · 18/05/2007 16:47

Phew! im glad you had that thought i felt bad for thinking that but i get jelous of our cat! lol and he knows it so he plays on it... though that is a bit of a game we have ( how sad) but i know i was daddy's little girl infact i still am mummys and daddy's special princess LOL! i'd still love a little girl either way but never reallyt hought about sharing DP with someone else especially another GIRL! lol

Chattyhan · 18/05/2007 16:54

Sorry you had such a nightmare this week - here's to a better week next week!
Thanks for thinking of me xx

Chattyhan · 18/05/2007 16:55

Sorry - that was supposed to be addressed to Pennypops but the thanks was for everyone!
