Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scootermum · 08/05/2007 22:24

Im not mentioning the gymnast at all, as it would send DH over the edge-he thinks ive got a crush on our estate agent because I said I liked his shoes...he gets like this from time to time..quite funny as he is no danger-I look like a blardy hippo...and even if I didnt he wouldnt be of course, except if Ryan from the OC came a -knocking..

dont worry Jonah-I went through my hosp bag this aft and realised I had left out about 2 thirds of the thinsgs I will need, including a towel, my PJ's and something to labour in..not sure Harlow hosp ready for nudity on the post natal ward quite yet!

cameroonmama · 08/05/2007 22:26

Scoot, if you can promise me a lifetime of filet o fish then I will dash over and hold your hand if you go into labour while dh is in Paris

Pebblemum · 08/05/2007 23:07

evening lovely ladies

Well i didnt win big at Bingo last night, in fact out of our group of six it was only myself and MIL who didnt win anything Never mind it was still a laugh. Actually it was until i got home at 9.30pm to discover we had a house full of kids who were waiting for pizza to be delivered, ds2 was still running riot not even undressed, ds1's hair was still long and someone had spilt blackcurrant juice all over the itchen floor and left it to dry so my feet were sticking to it, plus depsite me hoovering before i went out the house looked like a pig sty again I also had a headache so as you can guess dh wasnt my favourite person last night. By the time pizza arrived and had been eaten, the neighbours kids returned to them and I'd finally managed to get the boys asleep it was nearly 11pm. Ds2 was obviously over tired and had a very restless night but did dh see to him at all, dont be daft he didnt even notice so it was me up and down all night and every time i got out of bed i needed the loo. Then this morning I had to rush around tidying up, shaving ds1's hair etc so we werent late for his hospital appointment while dh and ds2 slept in. Men!!!

Ds1 got on ok at the hospital although we wont find out the results until mid june when we see the consultant again. It was quite fascinating watching the machine registering his brain waves and how it changed whenever he moved or yawned (i need more excitement in my life lol)

The one good thing about dh annoying me last night is he is finally starting on the hall. Ive been nagging him to decorate it for ages but something always comes up. Now though he has made a start, today he rubbed down the woodwork and ive spent the evening washing it all down and peeling off the old border ready for him to begin it properly tomorrow. My back is killing me but it was also fun. Ripping the border off was strangely satisfying

On the subject of 'plugs and shows' I think i may have lost mine, i wasnt sure as it was more cream/natural than pinky but reading the other posts it sounds like what ive been getting (never had one with ds2 and ds1 was a long time ago). If only it meant labour was just around the corner although im under strict instructions from my mum not to have this LO until after the 16th as she is leaving on Friday to go to Holland for a few days I would much rather get it over and one with now though, im getting so fed up lugging this huge bump around

Hope Creena is holding her gorgeous new bundle (well actually i hope she is having a nice sleep right now but that her LO arrived safe and well)

MKG · 09/05/2007 01:03

Hey everyone I know I'm the only one still up but I just lost part of my mucus plug. It's actually quite a funny story, because nothing that happens to me is normal.

I sneezed it out!! I sneezed and wet my pants, so I went to the bathroom at my mom's house (was already there, just so no one thinks I can't use my own toilet) I wiped my self down and there it was. I thought, "That was some sneeze". then I made my mom come in a look at it to verify that it was the plug, and by george it was.

Sorry if this is the first post of the day for someone, but I found the whole situation quite funny.

drkgpink · 09/05/2007 01:17

you're not the only one still up mkg. i am up and feeding although have been to sleep admittedly. how exciting losing your plug, mine went at 8 am then a show and waters 2:30 that afternoon so you never know what may happen, when's your edd?

here we're having another good night. did the first bath feed nappy story routine at half seven last night. he went down at 8:45 with his mozart cd (my womb cd) and has just woken with dirty bum, also hungry. emptied me dry on left in 18 minutes so now going on right. hopefully he'll go another 5-6 hours then and we will sleep til 8 ish. very civilised here, last night had adult chat, watched gordon ramsey on tv, painted nails all before bed!! Still can't believe how lucky i am.

sorry for rambling about me haven't managed to read other messages, any more babies yet. wonder how creena's induction is going??

largeginandtonic · 09/05/2007 09:30

Morning all, how are we today? Jumping up and down with excitement about the fact we are at least 2 stone heavier than we were 9 months ago, can not for love nor money see our feet let alone reach them. Have bowling balls bobbing around in our pelvis, need to wee approx every 10-12 mins, ummmmmmm excrutiating backache, SPD, heartburn and constipation ( i know you dont MKG ) OH and lets not forget that every time we go to the toilet we are checking and double checking for a lump of blood stained jelly to have fallen out of our fanjo.

Im not fed up honest....

twelveyeargap · 09/05/2007 09:32

@ MKG. With DD, I lost mine directly before going into labour so it might be something...

Where is everyone this morning? There are usually some early posters.

Hope everything is ok today Pebble. Likewise Scoot, hope the engineer tells you what you already knmow, that your house is NOT falling down.

twelveyeargap · 09/05/2007 09:33

AHA! Cross posts LG&T.

largeginandtonic · 09/05/2007 09:36

Oh bugger, have just been upstairs for a wee and forgotten my phone. I cant doooo the stairs again, i cant >

twelveyeargap · 09/05/2007 09:58

Boooo. Know the feeling! I was up and down the stairs so many times yesterday (and each floor is a flight and a half due to the layout of the house...) that I went to bed last night with legs shaking from the effort. SO unfit.

BUT, house is clean and I'm sitting on my backside listening to Radio 4 and feeling bad about laughing at the Chinese child called IKEA in honour of store of same name. That's so bad isn't it?

Turned on BBC1 news this morning, then Sky News and turned off both in disgust. THe standard is dreadful. Newsround used to be better.

Got to go to Tescos. Tch. Am feeling a bit agoraphobic today, but also bored. Hey, LG&T, would you like me to post you some KKs? They sell them in Tescos down the road. Email me twelveyeargap at googlemail dot com with your address in Plymouth.

largeginandtonic · 09/05/2007 10:01

Where is everyone and why is it bloody raining? I have to go to town and the only 2 pairs of trousers that fit are linen ones and they are long and can only be worn with flip flops or my crocs. This means soaking wet trouser bottoms and squelchy feet.

Im supposed to be waiting in for the post too but he is late. I have to clean up as i have friend over after lunch, but if i put the hoover on i wont hear the door. Oh FFS if i went in to labour i wouldnt have to do any of this. Grumble, moan

twelveyeargap · 09/05/2007 10:01

Child called IKEA was on "Book of the Week". Thought it was still the Today programme. Who's the eejit now?

largeginandtonic · 09/05/2007 10:03

Eeejit..... >

Emailing you now my lovely

largeginandtonic · 09/05/2007 10:22

I kid you not, DH has ordered a bell and a megaphone on ebay. I can ring the bell to let all the kids know it is lunch\tea time.......... They all play round the houses back in Portsmouth ans i have to trek out to round them all up normally. This way i can just stand in the garden and ring the bell\ shout in to meagaphone.

scootermum · 09/05/2007 10:47

Morning all by the way-
just typed a lovley long post and the real Scooter came and trod on the keyboard, deleted it all and also did something that made it only type numbers instead of letters, which only by pressing everything, and getting furious I have managed to fix...

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2007 10:49

test

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2007 11:11

had to set up new account. probs with old one and or/laptop and/or user error!
no time to read everything i missed. (pages and pages of the stuff!)
feeling ok. had massage yesterday and hair chopped...shorter, more manageable!? thats the idea anyway. cant walk more than about 500 yards without getting tired and breathless. feeling like a wimp.
MW check yesterday. all good. baby big (yes i know that) and partly engaged but still bump pushing under ribs (yes im acutely aware of that too!)
gonna force myself to go to aquanatal in an hour....i know i will feel better for the weightlessness feeling. and lets face it...i got nothing better to do....

jellybellybump · 09/05/2007 11:20

Oh OK I said I wasn't going to complain about being pregnant, getting bigger, bad nights of sleep etc etc, because I am so grateful to get pregnant in the first place, but it is now well and truely time to eat my words!!

And with all the May babies starting to pop out and many of you having shows and popping plugs, I can't help but think i'll be going into the June tread, as i'm not due until the 27th.

Sorry, moan over

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2007 11:22

DH seems to be worrying about everything more than me. im quite chilled out relaxed but he is stressed. not only about iminent arrival but about other children. the middle one.....girl, aged 15 has gone from being excited about baby to being very insecure and coming out with lots of things that sound like her mother talking...anyway DH getting constant texts and phone calls (last night at 11pm....she should be asleep?) saying....i hate you dad, you ruined my life, baby lucky,,,,will have dad at home all time. etc etc. now saying wants nothing to do with baby (2 weeks ago was very excited about half sister/brother) i tell dh a lot is teenager angst/hormones etc but he finds very hard to deal with. oh..most of her phone calls start with a request for something or money...when she doesnt get it (she doesnt always....you cant say yes to everything) then its always..."bet the baby has everything it wants...."
incidentally....just over half dh salary goes to ex wife and then he pays for loads of extras....the 15 year old has had a skiing holiday AND a summer holiday coming up paid for by dh and i. i have paid for all baby stuff myself....they dont need to know this tho. if we can afford it..the children have it.(incidentally i dont have any contact with them but thats another long story)
im trying to reassure dh that of course she doesnt hate him. she loves him. and teenagers are sometimes just like this.

DizzyBrummie · 09/05/2007 11:25

I know how you feel, my EDD was yesterday and I have had no sign, bay still isn't engaged, no loss of plug, not even BH. Have a MW appointment tomorrow, don't know how long they will leave you before they suggest intervening..

ShowOfHands · 09/05/2007 11:42

Good morning ladies.

Ooh I feel so much better this morning although I am now suffering from bell envy . You could get one of those football clapper things too...

DH eventually got home at 10pm last night with friend in tow and then sat up watching a film and eating Chinese. To be fair I'd forgotten he'd arranged for this friend to come over and I cried off and stayed in bed where I had been since about 8pm, knitting and snoozing. I couldn't sleep though once they'd put on their zombie thriller at some ear-shattering volume so I sat and read a trashy book about women with babies and romance and lattes. Frighteningly, I found it strangely compelling and read the whole sugary thing in one go. Needless to say, she got the bloke and the sun came out. The end.

In terms of convincing your menfolk to come to our bbq, I would have thought the promise of meat, beer and flames was enough. Most men I know get inordinately excited at the prospect of charcoaling a steak beyond recognition, whilst cradling beer in their spare hand and talking absolute nonsense about football. Would love it if you all came, honestly I truly am a heavily pregnant woman (I can take photographs if you want) and am completely stable and relatively normal. We live in what is actually a fairly attractive county, the IL's live in a particularly nice village with a duck pond and horses and chickens and things just wandering about the place. Come, I insist.

Had a truly spectacular deliver this morning. My wonderful mother has ordered us lots of old fashioned sweets from aquarterof.co.uk, fruit salads, laces, black jacks, acid drops, jelly beans etc etc. They're an anniversary present to 'help keep our strength up'. Yummy. Also got a wedding invitation for July 7th, will be needing some sartorial advice from you all. And other types of advice generally. The wedding's in a Jacobean manor house, quite posh and I'll be a saggy, baggy post partum, leaking mess. What do I wear? How mad will I be that soon after the birth? Will I be ready to face people? Will I have lost any baby weight at all? Will I be a mad first time mother convinced that Mathilda cannot be touched by the hands of strangers? Will I have to leave before the evening, dancing bit? How do you breastfeed in public?

Can't wait to hear some news from Creena and will be thinking about anneme today too. I think it's time we had another May baby.

Weather's beautiful today, going to peg out some washing. I have new clothes pegs and they're purple and flowery. Extraordinarily pleased with them.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 09/05/2007 11:47

Helloooooooooooooo.............

PMSL at lg&t and TYG antics this morning. Loving the megaphone and bell.

No more babies yet, someone is in today arn't they, is it annemme? Oh exciting.

Thinking about creena, hope all is well.

I had a few contractions last night but came to nothing and have just been to the loo to reveal a bit more of plug and "bloody" this time. Nice!!! Still think I'll end up being induced. pahhhhhh, I'm joining you for the long haul lg&t.

Boo, have French in a couple of hours, can't do the afternoon class, It makes me sleep, last week was such hard work, might take my pillow and snooze on desk. I'm sure it still goes in whilst sleeping hey!
