Morning......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scootermum · 13/05/2007 10:22

That would be Steriliser and Dust..my typing is appalling..

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 10:36

MKG and Cin - I really hope your pets reappear soon. MKG - bit embarrassing with your mom's dog going off too! Cin - I'm sure you know this, but cats do go off sometimes and have little adventures and come home again a couple of days later. I know yours has never done it before, but it's not unusual in cats. Fingers crossed for you.

Cin - similar happened to me last year with the car. Thankfully didn't get clamped, but I posted in the registration document for hte car with the change of address (you can't do it by phone btw) and it must have got lost in the post. Forgot all about it until DH noticed that my tax was up by two weeks. Realised what happened, had to go and get the car serviced and MOT's and on the day before we moved house (yes, again!) I drove from Islington to the car tax office in Wimbledon to pay the tax and bring tons of documentation so I could apply for a new Reg cert at the same time. Nightmare. I always post those documents using the guaranteed delivery service now. DH recently applied for a replacement licence as he's lost his photocard. Got it, obtained his CBT certificate for his moped, I posted the licence back a few weeks later (yet another change of address) and they sent just the paper part back (I'd sent both bits) saying "Sorry, you need to send the photocard too." They'd lost it! Feckers. Now we have to go through the whole re-applying process again. Gagh!

LWatkins - My DD (11) likes Cascada. Oh dear. It's very bad. Couldn't cope with it at full volume. That's why she has an ipod. I am not very good with noise. Noise makes me grumpy very quickly, particularly annoying ringtones etc. Foot goes down FAST in this house if she puts some awful jingle on her phone.

Pebble - I had no fewer than SIX phone calls and texts yesterday asking "Anything happening?" Felt like texting back, "Fck OFFFFFF, I will TELL you when something happens", but I know people are just excited, so I shouldn't complain. It's really nice that they care. One text was becuase my friend had walked past my car and seen the baby seat in the back and thought I'd forgotten to tell them, so again, not her fault.

I didn't get a text back from Scooter yesterday, but I don't know if that means she hasn't been "up the hill" to get mobile phone service or has gone into labour...

Madeindevon - This is terribly nosy of me, but you're very understanding. I would have thought that DH's kids would have come to your house or something. Mind you, I do realise that his DD is acting up (and his ex-P is a weapon) - suppose it might be better if she has time alone with her dad. When not hugely pregnant do you spend time with them too? Was trying to work out if it would make your SD more or less anxious about things if you spent time all together? Nosy, nosy, sorry. You can ignore me.

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 10:38

Cross posts Scoot! Glad all is ok. Sorry you're still having pains though.

scootermum · 13/05/2007 10:50

Oh, didnt get text-had mobile off in hosp..will no doubt get it later whilst im out!
Thanks for thinking of me though hon..
My Mum keeps ringing me too, like twice a day-and then actually seems annoyed when ive no news for her..have elected to call screen her for a bit..naughty I know but better than a row I think..

Juicylucytoo · 13/05/2007 11:03

Just to let you all know Befnalbub had a little girl Lauren Violet last night at 7pm by c section.

Both doing well. Will update you more once I've seen her.

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 11:07

Hurrah for another baby! Please send on our love.

AbbyLou · 13/05/2007 11:13

Thanks April. C was 2 in December. We have quite a strict routine in place too, in fact it's very similar to yours. C has always been a routine-driven child. He copes well with changes to it but likes to know it will all return soon. He has got up back to his normal self today, still testing a little bit but probably no more than any other 2 year old. He seems to have a meltdown at teatime and won't eat or do anything. For the first time ever last night he refused to say goodnight or give me a kiss or cuddle. It broke my heart. He has been loving today though and has obviously forgotten all about it. We've done loads of things to spend time with just him but he's chossing to do things with Ruby so that's good. Hopefully things will get better, we're just going to make sure he gets plenty of rest in the day and see if he's better at bedtime.

largeginandtonic · 13/05/2007 12:14

CONGRATS Befnalbub!!!! Another girlie, and a lovely name too.

Very glad SOH is home, it is early for a hospital dash but her mom is a midwife so im sure she is being well looked after. Home away from the nasty infections is best anyway.

Im so sorry about the vanishing pets, perhaps they are acting up like children do before a baby arrives? I have just had dd and ds#3 dropped back by ex as they are both upset and missed me while away this weekend.

My back has been killing me since about 5, no progress though Come onnnnn baby.

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 12:19

Awh, LG&T. It's kind of lovely that the kids miss you, but so that they can't enjoy spending time with their dad. Ex-H, muppet of the highest order. Tsk.

aprilmeadow · 13/05/2007 13:52

CONGRATS Befnal. Lovely names. Hope you are both doing well. x

Glad to hear that SOH & Mathilda are home.

MrsJB at the trampoline!!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 13/05/2007 16:22

Congratulations Befnalbub, Yey!!

lg&t, how you doing, backache still bad? Poor dc's, lovely that they miss you, they obviously are aware too that it won't be long now, maybe thats why they were upset today.

Feeling very large and uncomfortable today, First time really so not too bad, Only 5 days to EDD so I can't complain at only just begining to get fed up. My dsis goes home on Wednesday after that I'll be really fed up and VERY ready. Are you listening to Mummy baby? Thursday would be perfect.

I have had another couple of little leaks today. I don't think it's waters but it doesn't smell like wee. Stupid question? But if your waters are leaking can you squeeze it out. DYKWIM? I can't which is why I'm thinking it's not waters. Waters didn't go with h or m until well into labour so I don't know wht it would feel like to trickle.

Scoot - How's things? pains still there?

Hope the pets turn up.

Quite a lot of bump tightening today and some dragging feelings a bit like period aches down low...

cinnamontam · 13/05/2007 16:29

Guys - I just want to apologise for barrelling in this morning, posting a whinge without reading about how everyone else is going. Bloody self absorbed

I've just slept for 6 hours, Bella sauntered in a few hours ago perfectly dry and calm despite the rain so we think she got stuck in someones house and they finally found her or let her out. Little wench. Poor DH who had been so good with me in floods of tears all the time just sank into a chair, put his head in his hands and said brokenly 'I don't think I can cope with this with Tilda.'

So anyway - so much going on with you all.

Scoot so sorry you are feeling those pains. Do they have any idea what they were? Cheeky little Mae for not moving her tush around for you. Do they move a bit less by now as space becomes an issue? Is your DH off tomorrow for a couple of days?

MKG - has your doggie turned up yet? Their timing is impecable isn't it. Keep us posted

SOH - can't wait to hear how it all went. Very happy to hear you are back at home and dying to see pictures of your new little family

BefnalBub - YAY!!!! Congrats. That is such wonderful news. I know it wasn't the home birth you wanted but she is here safe and you are both well and that is just magic.

Welcome Sumsey

MrsJB - god i laughed at the picture of you on the tramp. Maybe we should add that to the list of things to do to bring on recalcitrant Bean's who aren't making an appearance.

Abby - was going to ask how your DS was today but just read you'd had a good day. Hope things settle for him. It must be so confusing at that age to take it all in.

LWatkins - hows that bump feeling? I'm just starting to feel tight and itchy and it's bloody annoying isn't it.

TYG - how do you decide when to get the waxing done. It's all about timing for me. I'm so tempted to get a Brazilian but if I get it done this week and then Tilda doesn't come for 3 weeks I'll probably spend more time during labour whinging about the bloody itchy regrowth than the contractions
Decisions...Decisions

Big hello to everyone else...amazing what a returned cat and some sleep can do to perk you up. Hope your Sunday is treating you well

MarsLady · 13/05/2007 16:34

mrsj... it could be your waters honey. They don't always come out as a big gush... that said... it could still take a few days.

I know... can't help but lurk and find out how the lovely may ladies are doing!

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 16:43

No worries Tam. That's what we're here for!

TBH, getting my car clamped would be enough to have me either in a rage or in tears, so you had every right to be in the state you were in, considering everything else that was going on.

I'm due on Saturday so thought early in the week was a suitable time to have the waxing done. I know what you mean about the regrowth though. However, although only about 5% of babies arrive on their due date, I'm sure I've read a few times that most babies arrive in the week after the due date - there's a bell curve shape to the EDD vs actual birth date. So, I reckon that if you have a wax say, 5 days before your due date, then the baby is likely to be born within 12 days of getting it done.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 13/05/2007 16:44

Thanks for that Mars, Interesting, Won't get hopes up then.

TYG, Hopes for you too. Common baby TYG!!

Tam, glad bella turned up. Little mite!

MarsLady · 13/05/2007 16:48

MrsJ.... are you calling 12yg's baby common?

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 16:48
cinnamontam · 13/05/2007 16:49

Thanks TYG - you still feeling those pains and aches? Good thinking on the timing. I'll think I'll do exactly that.

MrsJB - fluid can definitely leak over a few days. In terms of squeezing it out I think it all depends on how tight your LO's head is against the cervix. Sounds promising though

cinnamontam · 13/05/2007 16:49

Haaaaaaaaaa - great typo

cinnamontam · 13/05/2007 16:51

TYG - on a completely different topic. Did you end up getting the trial reuseable nappies? Which ones did you go for?

Mrsjaffabiffa · 13/05/2007 16:57

Was it you TYG that had Trev and Trace as your top names?

Katy44 · 13/05/2007 17:04

Hello from the April thread! What's the news, who's had a baby, who is having one at the moment?? Hope you're all OK.

twelveyeargap · 13/05/2007 17:06

Yeah, that was me.

Tam - I didn't get them yet, but I am going to. Thought I'd wait until the baby was a few weeks old and wetting "properly" then order some samples. Too hard to tell if I like them before then and tbh, can't face the thought of washing nappies from the word go. Will let you know when I get them though, shall I?

InTheseShoes · 13/05/2007 17:09

Congratulations Befnal! I love her name! Looking forward to more of an update later on

Had a little scare this morning. Puked up everywhere (sorry if TMI) and then had backache, recurrent lower abdo pain with "pressing down" pains too, still feeling sick. Cue charging of mobile phone and getting dh to take ds to the park while my Mum stayed with me (she was supposed to be going home this morning) and I lay in bed feeling vaguely hopeful/panicky in equal doses. Anyway, it all stopped about an hour later, I think I may have eaten something last night at the Greek that didn't agree with me! I sent my Mum home, and have spent the rest of the day in bed (I'm posting from under the duvet) as ds is a bit under the weather and dh is about to go off for four days with work (Reading and Poole) so he can be in charge today.

Hope everyone else is ok, I have read quickly through everyone's posts, glad the cat's back Tam (they can be little buggers for putting the worry up you, good practice for children...), welcome home SOH family, hope your backache develops into something LGT, MKG hope dog returns soon. Everyone else, hello [waves]
