It soundes like a lovely sort of party to me Mrs JB-Better with a drink natch but you cant have it all..
the annoying thing about the naps is that she will do it at CM's, at my Mums-just not here-its so odd..and at night she goes down really easily as a rule..maybe its coz she jsut loves being with me so much
She used to go down for her nap here as well before I went back to work..am going to try putting her down later and see how it goes-she should be exhausted as she managed to get up at 5 again-I certainly am anyway!

I dunno how im going to manage this with a newborn either largegandt, but then Ive only the one, you've got 10, so I will consider myself lucky in that respect and promise not to whinge..maybe Lily and Hugs will meet one day and get married and have kids and only then know what its like...and how we will laugh!

DH only in Paris two nights Tam, I am being a total princess about it, I know..but just dont know how I will manage should the worst happen!Glad your DH is doing better on the depression front BTW-Great news...

Slept very badly last night, not least as kept thinking about Maddy Mcann-watched the news before bed..I really hope they find her..

Off to toddlers group later-its a fab group at the church..its only a quid and for that you get an hour with all the toys, a snack for the kids and a cup of tea for the Mum, and then an hour sing song and story...(you have to say a prayer at the end, but its not in your face really..)

Then we have a few viewings on the house tonight so will have to clean around again..we had one this morn at 9 am and I had to conduct the 'tour' in my slightly too small PJ'S, bump hanging out and bed hair..Not sure it gave a great impression TBH...

Have a nice day all..

MKG · 08/05/2007 13:23

LG&T,

Induction isn't necessarly going to happen, I just think that this particular doctor (there are four and all four do things differently) is a little more on the cautious side. He said he's had patience be perfectly fine one day and have full blown preeclampsia the next and he doesn't mess around. I wasn't preeclamptic with ds so I doubt I will be with this one. I just have to watch the blood pressure (relax yeah right). So it's more of go on Thursday with bags packed ready to go in, but hopefully all will be fine and it will be a typical 15 min. visit. As far as induction goes, I'm not too worried. Since my cervix is favorable I feel it will go well, and he went over my birth plan with me and got to the part of "in case I need a C-section" He looked at me, and said "Yeah, you won't need one" So i feel a lot more reassured, even though he could be full of crap.

I'm not due till end of May but am defo gettimg a bit bored of being preggers.

Lwatkins · 08/05/2007 13:59

Afternoon All

I got my pram - oooooo it's so lovely! I have been playing with it so much my family think I've finally flipped! Tempted to take it out for a stroll, but I won't!!!

Can't believe I'm 38 weeks on Thursday, though must say now I have my pram and carseat I'm all prepared for the baby so want it - NOW!

TYG - MASSIVE sympathies regarding dd! Teeagers eh! I swear I'm so close to killing my sister. Example:

LW: Can you go and feed your rabbit, he also needs water and cleaning out as you 'forgot' to do it last week.
Sis: Uhhhhuuhhhhhh.........(looks back at competer screen and ignores I'm in existance)
2 HOURS LATER......
LW: Have you done your rabbit?
Sis: mmmmmmm?
LW: The rabbit?
Sis: (huffs) NO!
LW: Can you go and do him?
Sis: Uhhhhhhuuhhhhhh..........(looks back at computer screen....)

This went on for 2 DAYS, and even when she got up of her arse to do it my dad had pretty much sorted the poor rabbit out as it was bordering animal cruelty! A very hormonal me was in floods of tears several times becasue she doesn't look after him and he is getting old, and he's so cute and loving and oh god I'm getting tearfull again!

SOH hope you had a lovely anniversary.

Cam I'm sorry about your friends, how awfully

Scoot about the house being sold.

Lupins glad dp has bucked his ideas up a bit. Just make sure he keeps it that way

I'm sorry, have only briefly skimmed the page so hope everyone else is ok and babies are still cooking nicely. Of to find some food and play with pram

Scoot, obv can't guarantee that I won't be in labour myself, but if I can be of any help whilst your DH is away then let me know. I now have a car that works (hurrah) and I'm not that far from you.

That said, midwife was just here. Baby's head right down (at least it explains the constant ache in my pelvis) and all is well. She made an appt for next Tues but when she was leaving she said, "Well see you next Tuesday if I don't see you over the weekend." Next weekend would suit me down to the ground. I'll have all week to potter around and prepare myself, have the baby pref on Saturday and that leaves me "free" on the 17th to see DD's dance recital thing she's doing at school and to organise a little something for her birthday on the 21st. Wouldn't it be nice if that happened... Just told DH and he's in "action" mode now. Going to check the hose connections for the pool etc. when he gets home tonight.

We (ok, DH) FINALLY got the baby's room finished. It's really lovely. I'm very pleased with it. Very calming colours. DH quite impressed with my cutain making skills, which is sweet. There's one shelf to put up, once I decide where it's to go, and a couple of wall hangings. Hurrah. I can start putting her little things in there now. That's the fun bit.

Oh was saying to m/w that I was really glad she never tried to guess the baby's weight or anything. She said she doens't believe in it. Said there have been various trials of thousands of mothers, ob/gyns, midwives and sonographers where they asked all 4 to predict birthweight and the mother's were invariably closer to the mark. (Except in cases like SOH where the mother is predicting a 17lb pig). She said there was even one study where they scanned women actually in labour so there was almost no margin of error and the scans were still completely inaccurate. So if your hospital is scaring you with "big baby" predictions, you can most likely ignore them! DD's friend has just got a new sister and the mum was told she'd be induced at 39 weeks as they were predicting a baby over 10 lbs if they let her go full term. She went into spontaneous labour the other day at 38 weeks and the baby was.... 6lb 5oz.

Gosh, I'm rambling today. Been on a mad cleaning spree this morning. Cleaned the cellar for some reason. Really important as the baby will be spending loads of time down there. Off to sort out the "birthing room" in a minute. You'd think I would have done that first.

LG&T - Poor you being up with Hugs. Perhaps he's picking up "changes imminent" vibes and it's making him restless. Might not be such a bad thing if you do have a hosp birth this time as it might give you at least one night to have a rest before getting home. BTW - S would be a model child for you. It's only at home she's stroppy. Tch.

Blah, blah, blah. Must stop talking. Boxes to sort...

cameroonmama · 08/05/2007 15:07

Feeling a bit perkier today and looking forward to all the new babies still to come and bring us all lots of joy (and moments of madness, I know!)

Poor you LG&T you must be exhausted, poor old Hugs too, he probably senses that change is in the air. Hope you both get a better night tonight and that as we are speaking you are having a right good kip.

Its started...no no not labour, all that 'are you still here?' business, thank goodness I'm not going to term and the rest, it would drive me to distraction

LW good to hear your happy voice and that you've still got someone to battle with in your sister I am quite of the pram, it sounds deluxe. I haven't yet taken my buggy out of its plastic, I have felt a bit superstitious up until now, don't know why. So tonight I am going to set it up and check that the baby seat really does fit in between the two boosters in the car and set up the travel cot (poor baby, that's all it gets for the moment!) in our room and get ready for this baby.

Good luck Scoot with the viewings, good news that you are having them, none here..And fingers crossed the baby doesn't try and come while dh is in Paris.

Bienvenue Summerfruit, you are French aren't you?

TYG do you live in a mansion too like SOH? I just wondered given you mentioned a whole separate birthing room

ShowOfHands · 08/05/2007 15:34

Bonjour Pregnant People,

Have had a quick skim through but apologies if I've missed anything. I can't sit still and read properly today on account of the little head that's crashing repeatedly into my nethers. Creena, I hope you're all done and dusted and devouring the tea and toast by now, LWatkins I'm glad you're home- you sound so much happier, Cam I can't say enough how sorry I am about your friends, LG&T and Scoot Lily and Hugo though adorable sound very trying- I agree with the sensing change thing btw, TYG send S over to me after LG&T has done with her as my patio needs weeding with tweezers, Summerfruit I no longer get new stretchmarks I'm just one big stretchmark with eyes and a mouth, Lupins hope Arlen is well (and DH and Willow) worry not about feeding, AM Ella still sounds very good- did you sell DS after all?, MrsJB can I come to your party, MKG my money's on you for next delivery (vaginal at that), bon voyage Meggle, any chickenpox news drpink?, juliewoolie I think JuicyLucy lives in your area too, Pebble and AbbyLou I'm still having raunchy dreams (and dreams that I gave birth to a dead seagull), Tam hang on in there he'll be back before you know it, ITS you do indeed sound like a domestic goddess and a big hello to Gingerbear, Befnal, LilKel, Dejags, TMP, SkyTV (how's the baby?), Peacemaker, WestEndwoman and Charley!

I can't do anymore from memory so if I've missed anybody, it's not personal!

Had a lovely day yesterday after a bit of a false start involving the ILs. Won't bore you with the details but there was water, boats, a lovely meal, walking, cake, flowers. And some strawberries . Oh it was great. That's 2yrs married although we've actually been together 8yrs. No clue how he puts up with me.

Had a horrific night last night, was up from 3am with terrible, have-to-breathe-through-them, BHs. Lost what has to be the last of my plug and have excruciating backache. DH has buggered off to Alton Towers with friends and left me at home. I could not sit in a car for 3hrs and risk going into labour at a theme park. Unfortunately he got a lift there so if anything does happen he can't just drive back and he'd have to beg a lift. I waited and waited for him to say 'oh I won't go' but at the same time kept saying 'no go, go, have a good time, enjoy yourself, I'm fine'. I then promptly burst into tears as soon as he'd gone. So anybody missing DHs who have actually gone for more than a day and left the country your upset is valid, cheer yourself with what a feeble, pathetic thing I am missing DH who's up the country a bit on a rollercoaster.

I'm going to have a bath and hope I don't get stuck in it. Cat might drown though as she will not leave me alone for a second today. Not sure what's up with her.

Pinkjenny · 08/05/2007 15:43

Hi everyone

Just a quick update - as I am really trying to get my work finished as my mat leave starts on Monday.

Been to the 'breech clinic' this morning. The midwife had a good feel of my tummy, but couldn't decide whether the baby was breech, so the (lovely) consultant scanned me. Yup, still breech, and due to her position, unable to attempt an ECV that they thought would be successful.

So that means a section is now booked for 17 May - which is NEXT THURSDAY!!!! I am very excited and scared and worried and overwhelmed, but to be honest, so sick of this pregnancy malarkey that I am quite glad the end (or is it the beginning) is in sight, and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief that pink was the correct colour to buy, and that she is all safe and scrummy.

Hope everyone is well, where are this week's batch of babies?

TMI, Coming up.........

Just been to the toilet. Now I know I gave some advice on a "show" the other day but this was gross!! I'm going to start a thread in childbirth but those of you that have had a show before and you don't mind disclosing it's looks would be good. I had a little bit of what I thought was a show last week, like a bit of pinky stained slimey snot but this was like a lump of jelly. It was quite big and thick, clear in colour and reminded me of that stuff kids get to throw at walls that stick on them. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, what do you reckon, just a weird show or was it some kind of alien product up there?

OP posts:
Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/05/2007 15:54

Cross posted SOH, it's all about plugs by the sounds, common what was yours like. I can't get the fact that mine was completely creamy colour no blood staines at all, that surprises me? confused, freaking that something not normal has escaped.

I'm sorry your wonderful dh has gone out for the day, I'm sure he'll be back if it all kicks off, stay calm, enjoy your bath, my moneys on you next. Of course you can come to my party, it's Saturday, 5pm any plans??????

PinkJ, sorry baby has refused to turn. You have a date though, Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh scary but VERY exciting.

Bath is runnning...

Summerfruit yes I've lost my plug, baby's fully engaged, had a leak in my waters and I've had proper contractions twice which came to nothing. I wish I had some chocolate.

Pinkjenny, 17th is my due date! At least as you say you know what's happening now. And you weren't too keen on ECV anyway were you? Do lots of lovely things this week.

MrsJB, definitely part of your plug I would say. Mine (sorry TMI) looked like the glue they stick leaflets in magazines with, but in a big lump with a couple of pink streaks. Nice.

ShowOfHands · 08/05/2007 15:59

And it doesn't have to have blood in it, can be completely clear or cream coloured. Honestly, don't panic woman.

Plans for Saturday? Mmm... nope not a one, but with you having a serious show you might have some plans yourself.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/05/2007 16:04

Thanks SOH, Yes brilliant discription thats just what it was like, gross I know but I even had a feel of it and thats exactly what it felt like too, just can't leave that glue on the paper once you've taken the pull out off. Definately different to what I thought I'd had with the other two.

Must not get hopes up though, I know it means nothing really.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 08/05/2007 16:14

Well this pg has been so different to when you had H and M, maybe you're going to be early this time? I got my hopes up well and truly when I lost the first bit of the plug, quietly hoped when it happened again and the third time I think I may have said a naughty word quite loudly and refused to believe it meant anything. DH promises the baby will come and in the next couple of weeks. I just can't imagine that being true.

MKG · 08/05/2007 16:15

Oh you ladies with your shows and me with my blue fanjo we are quite the party animals here aren't we.

Here's the million dollar question.

Do I eat 3 big macs before my next appointment to drive blood pressure up which would mean induction? or Do I be a good girl and hold out? It's pretty much up to me. It's tempting to know that Thursday could be the day.

cameroonmama · 08/05/2007 16:17

Ooooh MrsJB, sounds promising, but look at SOH, all talk and no action to date The party sounds like great fun and its your 30th too how exciting! I would gatecrash but a)I think I will be too busy having a baby by then
b)I would be scared witless you were going to make it a birthday to remember by popping out the baby in company

SOH, what a good wifey you are not kicking up a fuss about dh going to Alton Towers, you get big brownie points for letting him go...

Forgot to put in a good luck for Creena who should be avec bebe by now?? And Pink, how exciting, a date for next week!

cameroonmama · 08/05/2007 16:19

DD has just discovered today, how to do a handstand, do you think that is classed as a developmental milestone?

MKG · 08/05/2007 16:19

Right, I hope Creena is doing ok. She could have a baby or she could be in the throws of labor. How exciting!! I'm so excited!!

MKG · 08/05/2007 16:19

Yes developmental milestone! I'm 27 and still can't do handstand.

ShowOfHands · 08/05/2007 16:20
