Morning all....

Focus focus scoot, hope you feel better soon.

Congrats again to TMP and DrkgPink.

LW, You don't seem to be having too much rest time at the moment. Try not to over do it sweetie.

I slept well Makes up for the night before though which was terrible. I am still battleing with Maddie. I was re-arranging her room at 12.45am the night before, to get her bed into a position so that she could reach nothing all around it. She doesn't get out of it but if she can reach a drawer or a shelf from it then she strips them into bed with her. so we go in at midnight to find she has a bed full of clothes, no sleep bag on, and no clothes or nappy on because once the bag comes off so does everything else. I swear that girl is going to be a naturist. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Concequently she wont go to sleep because there are far too many things to play with. Her sleeping bag is now on backwards, we used to tuck the zip in but it lasted a few weeks and she has sussed that, I threatened to put her back in the cot, mean mummy, I placed her in it and she threw an absolute hissy fit and bit her arm, byjjjeeeeeeeesssssss, I'm going to have fun with her and this new baby. The bag on backwards and nothing within Maddie reach seems to have worked last night though.

Morning all!
TMP your piccies are gorgeous, you have three lovely children. I can't believe how well you look straight after giving birth, a model for us all maybe!
DrP congratulations again on the birth of Joshua, I hope you managed to feed him ok at 5am! I found breastfeeding the hardest thing in the world last time and to be honest I'm really scared about trying it again but I think I will give it a go. I'm feeling ok today. Pebble I think I am going to be like you. I have a while with no pains, then they come really regularly for a bit, then sporadic again. Sometimes they are just like BH but other times they're enough to take my breath away and stop me in my tracks. I've never been this pregnant before (38+5) as ds was born at 37+4 and I've had enough!

juliewoolie · 03/05/2007 09:32

congrats DrP, joshua is a lovely name.

Sounds like we are all getting thouraghly bored of this pregnant malarky now. I have been awake since 4 finally gave up tryingt o sleep and got up at 6. Got my consultants app today where they will decide whether to let the baby come out via a c- sec or not.

Am a little bit worried they wont let me back out as have got some very weird feelings going on in my tummy and fanjo area.

LW I totally understand all your reasons for wanting to crack on with your work but take care of yourself.

Right best go attempt to tackle my birdsnest hairdo and put spme slap on - no idea why I feel the need its only a doctor but I feel I must try and attemot to look normal. ;)

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2007 09:33

harman!! Been trying to email you too and kept getting bounceback, was planning on stalking you across the boards today. Pump turned up (well the postie delivered it to 4 doors down which is surprisingly close given his track record!).

Thank you so much lovely lady. I've constructed it and it's sitting on the desk looking at me like the scary device that it is. Here's hoping that I get chance to use it soon (are you listening baby, out now). Anyway, thank you it's absolutely fine, I even managed to put it together in what I can only assume is the right fashion.

largeginandtonic · 03/05/2007 09:43

Morning all, late night posts last night!

TMP you look great and your dd is so scrummy. You must be so pleased to have that weight out!!!

DRpink i would echo the others advice, it is boob engorgement. Try sitting in a hot bath with hot flannels over your boobs to ease the pain and help some milk to leak out. When you have got out the bath get some cabbage (green) and put them in your bra, leaf by leaf from the fridge. It is amazing stuff and i promise will work. Hope it goes ok.

Im taking the kids to the park for a picnic at lunch time, dh was back from work at 915 this morning!!! His Driver bought him back

Any more babies then?????

madeindevon · 03/05/2007 09:47

re the documentary tonight.....decided against watching it.....its bound to be bad karma! i read in newspaper about a woman in labour being left in a corridor in the programme....i dont need to see that!

guess what
its my last day at work today!!!!!

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2007 09:57

I've caught up now.

Good morning all.

drkgpink - hope all is well with breastfeeding. I know an archive search on here usually proves very fruitful and I've seen engorgement issues come up so many times. I love the name Joshua- well I would being married to one- can't wait to hear more about him.

I did think that we'd have a veritable plethora of babies this morning given the full moon. I have to say I slept incredibly well last night. I passed out at about 11pm (was trying to wait up for DH and be a dutiful wife- he probably came home to drooling and snoring) and didn't stir until DH prodded me at 9am as he left for work. Frighteningly, I have no recollection of DH coming home. He reckons I was sparked out on the sofa and he had to carry me to bed. Honestly, you could rob me blind and burn down the house once I'm asleep. I would not know.

We have a ghost. Last night I was having fairly sore contractions so decided to bounce round on my birthing ball for a while. Afterwards, I clambered off and sat on the sofa... while the ball spun round in a circle all on its own. After about 5 minutes I got up and moved it into the kitchen and spied on it through the crack in the door. It carried on spinning and then started moving out in ever increasing circles. It's locked in the study now where I can't see it. Funny, huh? Told DH about it this morning and I can see he's torn between being freaked out and worried about the sanity of his enormous wife. The house I grew up in was haunted- used to be able to hear a male voice all the time and lights used to go on and off without warning. DH hated staying over, we got in one day, the house was empty and somebody said 'oh welcome home you two'. I grew up with it and it was a bit of a joke, DH refused to stay the night.

I must must must do some ironing today. Somebody come round and make me.

I'm watching the programme tonight. I'm hoping that as I'm having a homebirth and I know my midwives already it won't freak me out too much.

Can I come on your picnic LG&T? It's cold here. You can't see me but I'm doing a mini-Mexican wave for N's arrival home this morning. And can I just say... Driver? Ooh, get you.

largeginandtonic · 03/05/2007 10:02

Think we should do baby sweepstakes.....for our own babies and see how right we are. Apparantly we are more accurate at this than any scan or midwife\doc may predict.

BefnalBub · 03/05/2007 10:03

SOH - more ghost stories please- I love that sort of thing - my dads house is haunted and I dislike staying there too, but love the stories never the less!

TYG tell me to stuff off if i'm being a cheeky moo, but if you do get a chance to send over the hippo birthing scripts, I've got a fax number that will send it to me as an email so if you've got access to a fax, I could then send them on to anyone else who would like them too...?

off swimming for the first time while preggers - feel pressured having bought a blooming marvellous cossie...bit scared going on my own tho!

largeginandtonic · 03/05/2007 10:05

Course you can come, nice Jarlsberg sarnie ok? N borrowed the 'driver' from his commander, well why not i say.....

juliewoolie · 03/05/2007 10:07

BB seeing as we are both in the locality why dont we try and meet up go swimming or just eat cakes. I bought a cossie ages ago but it still has the tags on as I dont want to be the only one swimming who looks as preg as me

SKYTVADDICT · 03/05/2007 10:09

Morning all

Congrats on it being your last day at work madeindevon. Also lovely pics TMP and congrats Drgpink.

LG&T - my own guess for me is 9lb 3oz, boy (tomorrow?) [hopeful emoticon]

Worse news on my neice, it turns out my mum got it wrong and she couldn't get an emergency scan until a week tomorrow (not tomorrow!). She already has her original 12 week scan next Tuesday so is sticking with that. I think she is still bleeding and was having period pains yesterday so not looking too good. Will keep updating. Her sister in law went to A&E when she was bleeding last week and they sent her away to wait for a pre-booked scan 2 days later. Not sure if its because we are rural but we don't seem to have many facilities that you city types have (like an EPU!).

I didn't watch panorama last night either, far too scary at this stage

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2007 10:26

Jarlsberg sarnie sounds perfect. I'll bring some gingerbread.

MKG · 03/05/2007 11:01

Hi everyone!

I slept terribly last night. Had terrible nightmares, and am waking up exhausted and my whole body hurts.

On a positive note I watched "little miss sunshine" last night and I totally recommend everyone popping down to the video store.

I would totally want to help with the bfing woes, but my solution would be a bottle of formula, so no help on that front.
