Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

@E2017 can also add you to the fb group if I remember this rightly!

BertieBotts · 11/03/2018 22:25

I have finished my ridiculous spreadsheet with all costs on it Shock probably shouldn't have added them up but oh well!

clementineclouds · 11/03/2018 22:26

@Hana327...please pm me the email you use for facebook, and I can add you.

E2017 · 12/03/2018 13:29

Yep I can add people too if clementines not around. X

Beanmama18 · 12/03/2018 16:08

For those of you that had a guess at my scan pic, just wanted to let you know it's a boy

clementineclouds · 12/03/2018 16:39

@BertieBotts I really need to start a spreadsheet (I'm sad, I love a good spreadsheet Smile ). Can I ask what you put on yours (not what you chose, more pushchair/cot/pram etc...? x

peterpanwendy · 12/03/2018 16:42

Had my 16 week appointment today. My midwife is sooo lovely so I'm really happy, she answered all my questions.

Turns out I'm being monitored by the consultant for my recurring kidney problems which is good to know and I have a hospital appt booked for that.

Got my 20 week scan and booked my whooping cough vaccine both for the school holidays!

Most importantly I got to hear little bubs heartbeat and he/she is wriggling about in there and it was nice and strong - the best sound ever!

Hannahcarp27 · 12/03/2018 17:49

@beanmama18 so that puts the nub theory out. As all guessed a girl!! Congrats xx

BlueMooMoo · 12/03/2018 17:59

@beanmama18 Congratulations! Do you have any names planned or a shortlist?

@clementineclouds No spreadsheet for me, but working through a list amalgamated from baby books, mumsnet, and a few websites. Am rocking it old school with it all written down in a notepad and then crossing off as we pick up a few bits. Most medicine items done now, just maternity pads to buy. In terms of baby stuff, need a bouncer/rocker, baby bath, cot bedding (have crib bedding - ending up buying the chicco next to me), and then fun bits for the nursery!

One week to go until we find out if it's a boy or girl! :)

Beanmama18 · 12/03/2018 18:31

@Hannah I know I was convinced girl from the nub as well. Just shows it's not always right. And the lady couldn't be more sure it was definitely a boy!
@BlueMooMoo yes. We've had a boys name from the beginning. Couldn't decide on a girl's name so we got lucky :).

BertieBotts · 12/03/2018 19:30

Clementine I've done it into function type categories, which I found the best way to work out what we'd need for each function, and then picked what we want from those and put priorities on them. Obviously different people's priorities will differ, but these are mine/ours.

1 - essential
2 - useful
3 - want this enough to spend on it
4 - nice to have (I probably won't pay loads for this but might pick up if cheap/second hand)
5 - meh (in other words, other people talk about this but I'm really not convinced)

I just sorted them just now by category and priority, so in the list here I've just noted when the priority changes.

Err... I'm aware all of this looks super organised but it's really been a massive procrastination activity! Grin BUT it's given me starting points and what I've done is estimated prices for each thing - the absolute cheapest I would buy and then the price for the one I really want and then I can get the spreadsheet to magically add it all up and estimate, plus as we get things, find them secondhand or are given them I can tick them off and/or reduce the estimated costs which really helps to see the total go down. I've got to go and look through the clothes we've got already and check which ones are newborn/0-3 as that's all I'm counting for these purposes. I fully expect to get more clothes, BTW! I just wanted to see for budgeting purposes what was my absolute minimum.

Gem173 · 12/03/2018 19:50

@Beanmama congratulations on the baby boy! We were wrong ! Does make me wonder about mine now but did have 50/50 guesses haha

Gem173 · 12/03/2018 19:51

Got my 16 week appointment on weds and got my 20 week scan on April 11th ! So not long to wait! Am nervous that there could be something wrong, dunno just have a feeling although I’ve not had any disturbing signs of anything going wrong.

Gem173 · 12/03/2018 19:53

After comparing yours to mine @Beanmama I’m convinced I have a boy too! My nub is slightly risen x

BlueMooMoo · 12/03/2018 19:56

@BertieBotts That is amazing, a girl after my own heart!
The extra things I've got on my lost are
Infacol
Gripe water
Maternity pads
Formula (1 tub as I'm hoping to breastfeed, but good to have to hand if that doesn't work out)
Changing bag/rucksack
Dummies
Sling/Baby carrier
Grobag /Baby sleeping bag
Mattress protectors for cot and crib

I've done a spreadsheet for finances whilst I'm on full pay, SMP, nothing, and then another estimated one once I go back to work with childcare factored in :(

SpriteGirl · 12/03/2018 20:47

Wow @BertieBotts thanks for this. You should’ve charged I would’ve paid for that list 😆. And @BlueMooMoo for your additions.

somersetsinger · 12/03/2018 21:09

Gosh, you lot are organised. I have nothing written down and am convinced I don't need anything more. I lent lots of baby stuff out to friends and was lent things by others last time so will see what comes back. Baby no.1 went large on sick and reflux, so lots of the baby clothes are discoloured. I will definitely treat no.2 to some new clothes.

I had my 20 week scan today, although though I'm 19 weeks 4 days. The sonographer said she was happy with the baby's development and we are having a girl! Bit more real now.

BertieBotts · 12/03/2018 21:13

Ooh yes I need mattress protectors.

I have changing bag (will also prob get new rucksack, mine is looking threadbare) and 2 kinds of sling on my list Blush I have a problem. I'm defo after a stretchy wrap and then a structured carrier as DH likes that style. The Manduca gets good reviews and is readily available here for a good price so I think we'll look at that.

Prob going to leave things like dummies and formula and just get if/when we need. I did wonder because everything is closed on Sundays here plus we don't have a local shop but I decided it's unlikely and if I do need it on a Sunday I can muddle through.

YouCantBeSirius · 12/03/2018 22:47

I've bought all the clothes I'll need from birth till 3 months Blush my pram is ordered but won't be delivered until the end of June.

peterpanwendy · 13/03/2018 06:00

Congrats @Beanmama18 and @somersetsinger so exciting!! Can't believe so many of us are already finding out.

I won't be finding out until next Wednesday so still just over a week to go but I can't wait to see the baby again and to start calling it a he or a she!

Also thanks for the lists, they're so handy! Pinterest have some good ones too if anyone's worried. I'm winging it at the moment!

BlueMooMoo · 13/03/2018 08:28

@somersetsinger Congratulations! You must be thrilled.
@YouCantBeSirius I know, it is so tempting. Everything just looks adorable. I haven't bought much clothing yet as family have hinted they are getting us some stuff as gifts so don't want to duplicate.

Emmasmum2013 · 13/03/2018 10:22

I've not bought one thing for the baby yet Blush And I've not made any lists.

I did find my list that I used for my hospital bag last time though, and I crossed about half of it off because I did not need it!

clementineclouds · 13/03/2018 12:30

@BertieBotts you are a star...I have soo much flying round my head, its really useful to see this list, so I can start getting organised.

clementineclouds · 13/03/2018 12:37

@Emmasmum2013 would you mind sharing your hospital bag list (and what you removed from it). I've a heavy packer at the best of times (and always over pack, and I'd like to not look like I'm moving into the hospital. Smile

samb1979 · 13/03/2018 13:30

Hi everyone! Has anyone been suffering from Symphysis pubis dysfunction (spd) my doctor seems to think that I have it (but wants to get my scan brought forward if he can wing it with the midwife to make sure that's what it is) just wondering if anyone has anything they can recommend with easing the pain! Only 16 weeks and more or less told that it will be like this until after labour Shock
