Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

@Gizzymum oh thank goodness!! That must be a huge weight off your mind!

Gizzymum · 08/02/2018 20:42

@milney25 yes it is. We have finally felt able to tell our friends. 😅

BertieBotts · 08/02/2018 20:51

I've decided to tell my boss tomorrow morning and it seems my belly has absorbed this information and gone "Yay!" and just decided to flop totally out. Oh dear! Haha.

BertieBotts · 08/02/2018 20:52

And I meant to say, Sparkle, that's wonderful news and you must be so pleased :)

Mamfa18 · 08/02/2018 20:53

@amzq87

Hehe thanks! Yeah she mentioned an extra growth scan! I’ve also been arguing that someone like 7lbs lighter than me would be allowed in their water pools but I’m more of a risk so she’s considering putting me on the midwife led unit instead! I say all of this but everyone tells me it won’t workout as I ‘plan’ haha!

@Gizzymum
Thank you!!! And congrats on the screening news!! I couldn’t imagine that kind of stress! My stress is when my other half forgets to put chilli flakes on my food!

SpriteGirl · 08/02/2018 20:58

@Gizzymum great news must be such a relief for you.

Congratulations to everyone who’s has their scans today.

Whichoneisit · 08/02/2018 20:59

Wonderful, wonderful news ladies. I hope you have a good sleep tonight!!

Gem173 · 08/02/2018 21:35

Great news ladies :) so pleased everything is going well!

Whose left to have scans! I am!!!!

Kiki275 · 08/02/2018 22:05

It's lovely to see all the good news on here. Congratulations everyone x

CumbrianExile · 09/02/2018 07:16

Congrats on all the good news everyone!

Scan day today Grin

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 09/02/2018 07:28

Great news about everyone’s scans! All seems to be a bit more real now!

I’m 12 weeks today and I’m so grateful that I’ve got to this point without any events. My symptoms have totally disappeared in the last few days so I’m doing the usual “it’s not all in my head is it??” which I did with DS1 Grin

My scan is on Wednesday and it can’t come soon enough!!

Mamfa18 · 09/02/2018 07:37

So I’ve booked a holiday - to Egypt! I’ll be 17 + 4 days when we fly (it’s in 3 week) is anyone else planning a baby moon?? I literally just booked it after reading in so many places that it’s good to have a little get away before your life changes forever! But it made me think actually some sun would really do us some good!

Although I’m deffo not gonna look like I did on my last holiday oops! Look about 8 months pregnant already but pretty sure it’s 90% carbs and 10% baby

Whichoneisit · 09/02/2018 09:09

We’re going skiing next weekend. I’ve decided not to ski so I’ll just be drinking got chocolate and lounging around by the pool in the hotel.

I went to Egypt when pregnant with DD. Have a little read up before you go on how to stay safe food wise and use lots of alcohol gel when handling money etc to avoid getting sick. I only ate in resort, didn’t eat any fruit or veg that I couldn’t peel myself and didn’t have ice in drinks and I was fine.

k4rlyb · 09/02/2018 09:17

Morning all

Will anyone be getting an early gender scan? Or would it be better to wait for 20 weeks scan?

I haven't really kept up with this thread, since moving over to fb. Sorry to hear some of you are going through a tough time. Great news for everyone having scans

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 09/02/2018 09:23

Who do I contact about getting added to the FB group? These threads move so quickly I can’t keep up Smile

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 09/02/2018 09:27

Skipped back a few pages and found out who to message Grin

YouCantBeSirius · 09/02/2018 10:13

@k4rlyb I've booked a private sexing scan for when just over 16 weeks.

Pereie · 09/02/2018 10:43

@k4rlyb I have booked a private scan for wednesday, i will be 15w4d sooooo, may not be able to see gender. I am going with my mum to let her see the baby but DH said if we can find out the gender we should :D so fingers crossed!

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 09/02/2018 10:47

I've booked a scan for a week tomorrow.. o will be 16 weeks exactly so hoping they can tell me sex! If not then they rebook it.

Gem173 · 09/02/2018 10:52

Wow everyone’s already booking sex scans! I haven’t even had my first scan!! Time goes so quick!

Gem173 · 09/02/2018 11:02

Did any of you with healthy scans have virtually no symptoms? Or a few but not really any different to normal life? Because people talk about having a ‘gut feeling’ somethings wrong even in their first pregnancy. But I don’t know how to feel. One day I have hope and I’m happy next day I just feel like everything is going wrong. I know it’s just anxiety but it’s so hard not to be anxious!

MamOfFrankie · 09/02/2018 11:08

Morning sickness has returned with vengeance today at 13+5. When will it end? On the plus side, what I thought was bloat as turned into a nice little bump. First scan is Wednesday :)

Meet Troll! Had quite a dance and wouldn't lie straight to get measurement done properly for ages but all is good.

Gem I had quite bad nausea and was exhausted for the first 11ish weeks, just coming out the other side now. But they said everything looked good on the scan. I didn't have the downs test though, wouldn't have made any difference to us. It's hard to know how to feel. We all go through these emotions.

To those who have holidays booked enjoy! We are going to Ireland at the end of the month to visit the in laws. About as close to a holiday as I'll get. But I love my in laws so it will be fun!

@Gem173, please try not to worry, it will be of absolutely no good i promise. Keep your thoughts positive, and if something does come up, then you cross that bridge when you come to it. Just try and enjoy your pregnancy

Gizzymum · 09/02/2018 11:25

@Gem173 I've had virtually no pregnancy symptoms this time round (other than a teeny bit of hunger type nausea for a few weeks). Scans and screening results are all fine.

I had similar with my DS who is 8mths and doing great.

Some of us are just lucky 😜
