I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

Work-work-busy-busy-chuff-chuff-bang-bang

Does that answer your question as to what I've been doing on this gorgeously sunny day

Beanstermummy · 03/05/2007 14:19

Chuff Chuff bang bang - sounds an interesting job? Mine used to be working out where to bang bang when no chuff chuffs were running but now is managing others to do just that!

Too hot in the office to feel even vaguely human - may nip accross the road to Spar to get a magnum...........

skidaddle · 03/05/2007 14:20

oh Pecka, what a nightmare - how are you now? Even though there is bleeding, all the other signs are still positive so don't give up. Have you contacted your mw/hospital? Surely there's something they can do? My God you've really been through the mill with this one.
Thinking of you and hoping for good news xx

cazzybabs · 03/05/2007 16:03

Pecka - just beause it is bright red does not mean it is coming from the baby! Put your feet up and tell dh he needs to look after you!

you are in my prayers.

JARM · 03/05/2007 17:04

Pecka {{{hugs}}}

My friend is almsot 20 weeks now and has had 4 episodes of bright red bleeding in the last 8 weeks. Everything with her is fine.

Fingers crossed for you sweetie x

mad4girls · 03/05/2007 17:23

pecka-i had bleeding with dd1 at 10wks really red and loads and she went on to full term and healthy try not to worry (obviously inevitable)but all other sings are good, look after yourself.

as for me had my scan this morning and just cried my eyes out like some silly nutter when they said there was a heartbeat was just convinced i was imagining all of it and they would tell me there was nothing there, but "bubbles" was there, they changed my due date to 4th of december, and have put me under consultant care due to fibroids and a cyst, which the woman didnt tell us about in the scan she was being really funny asking things like, have you had alot of scans before in gynae etc when we came out the receptionist said oh u dont need to see mw, and the woman said no she must see someone which scared us half to death but they said it was to with fibroids and pretty standard apprently.

anyway after we walked home to find a dear old lady had tripped on the pavement and broke her wrist so dp helped her up and rang an ambulance and we waited while her husband went to fetch her son, so rather an eventful day, think dp more into the whole pregnanacy thing now kept kissing my belly saying hope your a girl, that was really nice (hes not normally the slushy type).

soz for long post will adjust due date

skidaddle · 03/05/2007 17:40

Awww, mad4girls - that is great news although how unprofessional of the sonographer to be all hush hush about the fibroids

And bless your dp kissing your belly

I know I will be the same at mine - bursting into tears the moment they tell me there's a baby there I have already imagined it a thousand times and have had to blink the tears away each time and that's just thinking about it!!

So good that you know all is well though, brilliant news and maybe a bit of !

peanutbutter · 03/05/2007 18:54

Pecka - we're all rooting for you

Beckle - i've got loads of symptoms, worse than with ds: nausea every day, and last night i threw up , sore swollen boobs, tiredness, my hair going coarser by the day til i'll soon end up looking like a cavewoman ....oh the joys of growing a little baby

it's been hot here today in Lancashire! I was sitting in the garden and could feel my skin burning. Today I tried to do my shopping a bit more ethically for the first time (thoughts of global warming etc) and so tried my best to choose local-ish produce or at least stuff grown in UK and not flown from Israel or wherever...this unseasonal weather makes you ever more mindful doesn't it? I'm doing the obvious like recyling and have used recyclable carrier bags for a few years plus we've composted for a couple of years but it feels like a tiny tiny drop in the ocean.

I'm blathering . It's nice to enjoy some nice warm weather for a change!

mad4girls · 03/05/2007 18:55

thanx skidaddle
how u feelin today hun, when are due again

insywinsyspider · 03/05/2007 21:54

arrrghh so now i'm at work i can't log it for fear of being caught on an antenatal thread! roll on week 12! yes am hating early pg too - offically no symptoms here....

pecka - still hoping its going ok, being sick has gotta be good??

caz10 - damn you for mentioning fish supper its all i can think about now

ambi - lol about ginger biscuits - with ds i thought i'd been really discrete about my horrible morning sickness until at 13 weeks i told my senior manager i was pg and he said 'thank god for that i was starting to think you had a drink problem' men are so dense sometimes!

n thanks to everyone who thought ds flipping his potty on my first morning of trying to get to work actually can laugh about it now, bless him was like some kind of dirty protest about me leaving him

hi everyone else

insywinsyspider · 03/05/2007 21:56

hey peanut go ethical and get reusable nappies i'd highly recommend them.... thats my campaigning done for the day and i voted today and everything [smug]

thelady · 03/05/2007 23:10

insywinsyspider: I like the idea of ethical reusable nappies, and the cost saving too. However, I'm already dealing with the laundry from 5 hotel rooms, and run out of clothes on a regular basis.... I think it's going to be disposables for us, at least at first.

And I'm just old enough to remember helping fold old-fashioned square terry nappies!

peanutbutter · 04/05/2007 08:13

insy - i've used MEOS and totsbots on ds (20m) since he was 2 weeks old and will be doing the same with this one

skidaddle · 04/05/2007 08:45

peanut and insy - v. impressed you use reusables - me too - have just bought some new bamboozles - they are brill!

and thelady - it's really not that much hassle washing them - if you are doing loads of washes anyway...

Ambi · 04/05/2007 08:51

I fancy reusables too but there's some kind of hassle factor that I'd rather not have. However I've seen a nappy laundry service which rents out a nappy bin and clean nappies and takes the dirty ones weekly and replaces with clean, which I like the sound of and may make enquiries.. Has anyone used this before, it sounds good to me cos you're not shelling out for a whole range of sizes, but there's probably a catch in there somewhere.. (I hate laundry at the best of times, mr ambi has actually learnt how to do it now that I'm less than useless)

Morning everyone btw.

BeachBunni · 04/05/2007 08:55

Talking dp into using a mixture of reusable and disposables myself. Think I may be doing most of the changing anyway as he's very sensitive to smells and has a tendancy to gagg (will have to get over that sharpish)

Theres a big thread on the pg page about the Panorama prog last night - glad I never watched that! Labour scares the s**t of of me as it is.

Hope your feeling better today Pecka. Sorry your having such a rough time of it lately.

skidaddle · 04/05/2007 09:31

Ambi - have never used a laundry service but have heard good things about them - a lot of peple argue that they are even better for the environment because they wash so many nappies at the same time. the only thing i wouldn't be too keen on is that (I think) they usually only collect them once a week so that means a week's load of dirty nappies piling up - we did a wash every other day when dd was little and probably every three days now, but a week's lot of nappies... jesus you'd need a wheelie bin to fit them all in!!

Still a good option though..

Beachbunni - think your dp will get over the smell thing quite soon - no choice really!
Did you see the panorama programme? I thought it was all scare-mongering to be honest (not to belittle the awful tragedies that occurred) - my experience having dd was very positive and mws and docs were all brilliant

Nbg · 04/05/2007 09:39

Just a bit of info for Pecka and anyone else who is bleeding a bit. As someone else said, it doesnt always mean its coming from the baby. It can be caused by having a rough cervix, hence the red blood.

Still thinking of you Pecka. Hope things are ok. I'm still very hopeful for you. Things sound very very positive.

Havent had the chance to read through but will catch up today.
I thought the august 06 natal thread was busy.
Boy I was wrong lol!

BeachBunni · 04/05/2007 09:41

Nope I didn't watch it. Like yourself I think a lot of news progs are to scare people silly and I'm very cynical. Well, it wouldn't make such a dramatic story to report something good for a change. That's not how awards are won!
Besides (I'm making a confession here) I can't even watch aything to do with childbirth on Casualty. I'm that squemish, It makes me feel physically sick so I'm just trying not to think about it.

ConnieDescending · 04/05/2007 10:03

I am expecting a Christmas baby and would like to join this club. This is a complete suprise baby but very much wanted by our family.

Nbg · 04/05/2007 10:08

Ey up Connie.
Not too fluffy for you here is it?

Congratulations.

ConnieDescending · 04/05/2007 10:10

well, we shall see!

Nbg · 04/05/2007 10:13

Do you have other children?

Ambi · 04/05/2007 12:01

Hi Connie,

I read a very amusing thread, where you announced you were leaving MN? and that all us posters are full of sh*t, changed your mind?

Congrats on your pg though

PeckaRolloverAgain · 04/05/2007 12:14

No bleeding in peckaland today and my husband brought some stuff home from work last night to take my blood and has taken into work today for another HCG to be done. I hope no one thinks this is too naughty! Its just to give us some extra piece of mind.
