I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

OP posts:

pecka, hope you get something sorted tonight, the agony must be getting you down so much. Thinking of you.

Curlygirly · 08/05/2007 21:05

pecka -even if your hospital won't scan until the morning it's still worth going to a&e, at least they should be able to get you a scan booked for tomorrow.

skidaddle -I reckon I'm due 24th Dec. Have asked for an early scan but am still waiting to hear anything.

macdoodle · 08/05/2007 21:13

Hi new here due 30 Dec so maybe should be on New Years thread...
one DD age 5 she will be 6 when babe born and will be sooo excited not told her yet..
Afraid me and DH seperated (see my miserable thread in relationships) - but this is to be happy about this very longed for PG we tried for 3 years before we split (probably contributed)...
Oh boy starting to remember the early signs sick all day but not actually puking, feel starving but no appetite, skin terrible (normally good)...and sooooooo tired - long day at work thought I would cry was so tired counting hours till end of day and ready for bed now......
Pecka really good luck and wishes xxx

skidaddle · 08/05/2007 21:42

Hello and welcome macdoodle

Pecka - any news? Have you been to A&E? Is your dp home yet? Hope you are OK

Nbg · 09/05/2007 07:35

peanutbutter · 09/05/2007 08:30

morning everyone

pecka - have you managed to make a decision? it's awful with this agonising waiting isn't it? I think you should do as others suggested and attend A&E, esp if you're cramping as well

skidaddle · 09/05/2007 09:01

How are you peanut? Has the bleeding completely stopped now? Hope so.

peanutbutter · 09/05/2007 10:10

hi skidaddle, the bleeding has stopped - thanks for asking. I'm feeling very very relieved but still biting my nails and i don't think i'll stop until i'm into my second trimester. I got my scan date this morning too - 12 June, so it's a while off yet but I'm okay with that. How are you doing? Are you over the flu?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/05/2007 10:52

Hi everyone

Well after a very frustrating morning of ringing midwife and hospital and getting fobbed off I rang back and got cross with them and they have reluctantly booked me in for a scan on friday. This will be almost 2 weeks since last one so hopefully enough timne to tell me what is happening either way.

Thanks for all of your messages, bleeding has tailed off but pain still there.

mad4girls · 09/05/2007 11:09

oh pecka sorry i wasnt around last night hope your feeling a little better at least they have finally taken notice, and booked a scan, make sure you get a qualified person doing the scan this time as well, take care hun.
peanut- hope your feelin better, try not to worry (impossible i know)
macdoodle-
curlgirl-
congrats and welcome ladies

fifisworld · 09/05/2007 11:23

Morning everyone
pecka - glad youve got a scan date, i hope everything is ok

Ive just rung the hospital as its been almost 3 weeks since my booking in appiontment and i havent had my scan date, but she said that ones been made for 5th June at 10am.
So ive got that to look forward to now.
I hope everyone else is ok.x

skidaddle · 09/05/2007 12:34

Pecka - well at least you only have a few days to wait now and then you will know for sure. Good news the bleeding has stopped and pains could be your uterus stretching so fingers crossed...

Peanut - glad the bleeding has stopped - it must be impossible not to worry but at least no more bleeding is good news and as we've seen from this thread and others a little bleeding is very common and not a sign of any problem so fingers crossed for you too. 12th June is a long time but hang on in there..
My flu' much better today, thank you - I was taking lemsip, thinking it was fine because it was paracetemol but then noticed that it says to consullt your gp if you are pg - does anyone know if lemsip is OK?

fifi - good you got a date for your scan - not TOO long (easy for me to say I know)

dundeemarmalade · 09/05/2007 12:51

Morning all.
Pecka- I'd reiterate what skidaddle just said re. pains: I'm getting them every evening, worse when I'm tired or have had a busy day.
mother-in-law (uber-mama of six herself, former nct bod and la leche league teacher) advises this is entirely normal. I hope your scan puts your mind at rest.
skidaddle - dunno about lemsip but i do know (i think) that a lot of the 'consult your doctor' stuff is because it's really hard to do clinical trials on pregnant women (would you volunteer?) so the pharma companies don't know what's safe and what's not. i reckon hot lemon and honey with normal paracetamol would do the job. we are allowed honey, aren't we?

i cooked my first meal for weeks last night as dh away - couldn't remember where the chopping boards were kept! have been living of cheese on toast and tomatoes, with prawn cocktail crisps for variety, so it was good to eat some proper food! i can't get my head round the feeling sick as a pig but being starving hungry thing. seems like an unnecessary hurdle.

dundeemarmalade · 09/05/2007 12:52

uh oh, it's afternoon already. ho hum...

Nbg · 09/05/2007 12:53

I need help
I need to be physcially retrained and fed.

I cannot stop eating Pate
I want it allll the time!

macdoodle · 09/05/2007 13:09

Nbg sorry hon dont want to worry you but I think pate is on the "don't eat" list will check

macdoodle · 09/05/2007 13:11

Prob bit neurotic (I know I am) but pate should be avoided cos of ris of Listeria so prob best to lay off - I know I love it too....also went out for SUSHI TWICE before I found out I was PG and that is really a no no - oh well

mad4girls · 09/05/2007 13:26

glad i dont have to worry bout them as hate any kinds of pate and absolutely cant stand anything to do with fish every aspect of it cant even sit next to someone eating a tuna sandwhich just the smell a]makes me gag (and thats normally by the way nothing to with ms)

anyway had some nice lunch and going to have an hours sleep before school pick up as been sitting at compute at college all morning and got to cooK a big roast for tea later, dp got dayshift today so he will probably hog laptop all night, hope to catch up tomrrow, take care all

dundeemarmalade · 09/05/2007 13:29

nbg - i thought the no pate thing was coz of the liver in it - too much vitamin a or something. have you tried veggie versions? they may, of course, be so revolting that they put you off altogether.
i had prawns for tea last night. yum scrum. slathered in fresh chilli and garlic, and cooked until over-done. they were delicious. i'd rather be full and warding off the guilt than hungry and virtuous.

skidaddle · 09/05/2007 15:29

mad4girls - totally agree about pate (though not fish) - it makes my stomach turn at the best of times - couldn't even eat humous today because it LOOKED like pate.

nbg - think veggie pate is fine if you are still craving it

dundee - think you're right about the pharma companies - I think 90% of medication says consult your gp if you are pg - as long as it says DON'T take this if pg I reckon it is probably OK or is that a bit cavalier of me...
cooked prawns are fine anyway so you can feel full AND virtuous
BTW - how was you viva????

Pecka - my fingers are still crossed for you, rheumatism is setting in....

JARM · 09/05/2007 17:31

Im back to feeling like death warmed up - so so so sick. This is not fun! I sincerely hope its all a good sign.

Pecka - thinking of you hun.

NBG - STEP AWAY! DONT EAT IT! (its rank anyway!)

bambino1 · 09/05/2007 17:52

Had blood tests today. Should hear whether i've got the virus tomo. If i have had it then I will be sent for a scan weekly to watch the progress of the baby and if I haven't got it blood test will still be done every 3-4 weeks to watch if I pick it up. Nightmare.
I'm off work again as another case has come out.

Pecka I really feel for you

I'm going camping this year too! We are going to Sandy Balls in the New forest at the end of July! Should be interesting to say the least as we are on the basic field with a couple of porta loos!

thelady · 09/05/2007 18:31

JARM: you and me both, m'dear. Feeling utterly grotty other than when I'm actually eating. Headachey, nauseous, grumpy....

Ah well and bear it, I suppose. I'm sure part of the 12 week taboo is to stop us complaining about ms to all and sundry!

Pecka: Hang in there!

insywinsyspider · 09/05/2007 20:44

lizzer - eco disposables for first few weeks = Moltex, buy them on line (a creamy colour as they don't bleach them and fully biodegradable but still lovely - puts you right off using huggies or pampers) DON'T use Nature boy/girl ones from Mothercare/Boots they are rubbish and leak everywhere even if they are 70% biodegradable... will shut up about nappies now!

dundee - lemsip a no no due to decongestant, hope you feel better soon

concerned about lack of ms - had it really bad with ds.... 8/9 weeks and bit quesey sometimes (poss in my head) but thats it... roll on my scan.... if 2nd pg is completely different isn't there an old wives tale about it being a different sex?? I know your not meant to have a pref and I'd obviously love any baby I'm blessed to have but a girl would be great...
