I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

BeachBunni I think the risk from flying is more to do with long-haul or regular business travellers. You're most unlikely to pick up anything like a serious dose from a single short hop to Spain.

I think the research is based on pilots and cabin crew, who practically live up there.

Lizzer · 06/05/2007 15:18

Phew, just got back from camping, and just before it RAINED. We weren't far away and it was lovely to eat bbq food and chill out with our friends for the night, didn't miss drinking at all as you feel kind of 'high' just being in the great outdoors, chucking a frisbee with dd and overlooking the lake. I do love living in the lake district (when its not peeing it down and blowing a gale, like NOW!!)

All this talk of holidays makes me want to book one myself, I was on ryanair with all the flight details for Venice in the summer (lucky to have a friend out there so free accom.) and then it hit me. What the hell am I doing spending money I haven't got!!!????

Thanks for the advice on reusables - we're def gonna do it. Did anyone do it from birth or did you ahve a few weeks in disp??

Hello mum2sam and babyox!

Pecka, just caught up with your news. Keep posting and get it all out on here, it must be so hard for you

Hope the radiation stuff is just another scare story as I went to italy and back without even knowing I was 5 weeks pg (don't know about the radiation but the cocktails were prob not very good ) I'm sure it will be fine though, millions of pg people do it. I'm slightly worried about the laptop resting on my lap nowadays, surely there is radiation from that too as well as all electrical items....
Have a lovely extra day off tomorrow girls

claraq · 06/05/2007 16:00

Hi everyone hope all well, sorry finding it hard to keep up with everyone and everything so struggling to join in!
Just read some of Conniedescending's "fluffy" post - which has taught me a lot about mumsnet. Connie if you are still part of this board, has your long thread and all the replies put you off MN or...? I am not a regular to MN but I have always found some of the threads to be very very funny. Compared to some of the other (yes, "fluffy" and "huggy") boards I do think MN is a lot more mature and interesting.
On a completely different topic is anyone thinking about having a nuchal fold scan? I had one last time (for various reasons, mostly because we didn't have to pay for it!) but am unsure this time. Apparently the results of the triple blood test give you just as good an indication, although you don't get your results until 16 weeks. But my midwife explained that if we had a low score and therefore wanted an Amnio, we could not have that until 16 weeks anyway. Hmmm. Btw I am 38.

mad4girls · 06/05/2007 17:17

looks like dp has done a u turn again and said that if me mum is still going to take them away seperately from then he will pay deposit etc, when i asked her yesterday she said she would take them in september if we took em in may so hopefully going to book the holiday tomrrow (before he changes his mind again !) im really chuffed now will need the relaxation after birth and xmas etc

thanx for all advice guys

ConnieDescending · 06/05/2007 17:40

Hello Clara, yes I would still like to be part of this thread. I wouldn't say I'm put off MN but I do still find the dynamics of it very interesting.....but thats for another thread!

I'm pretty sure I will have the nuchal fold scan around 12 weeks but will also do the triple blood tests as well.

As for holidays, well.....not sure yet.

Nbg · 06/05/2007 18:03

Hi everyone.
I cant keep up with this thread at all!

Pecka, hope your ok. I know we chatted earlier. I must email you my tel number so you can give me a call.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Feeling sick, achey and generally crap lol

I'm not too bad. The sickness is wearing away now which makes me think even more that I'm further on.
I'm still very very tired though but it isnt helped by ds who will not sleep.
Only 9 days till my next scan so we shall find out whats going on soon.
DD is insisting its a girl and we are calling her Emily lol.

MamaMaiasaura · 06/05/2007 22:02

hi ladies. Did another test today (week after first bfp) was relieved to see another bfp. Anyone else done this? preg hormones kicking in more.. ultra sensitive. Boobs still achey. Appetite a better. Not really sickly. Feeling cold often tho, even when house is clearly not cold and everyone else fine, think it might be tiredness.

Ds keeps talking to baby, bless. He is really really wonderful and I love him so much. Feeling very soppy at the moment, and easily teary

Had already booked summer holiday. 2 weeks in a cottage in wales on a working farm (dairy farm - already checked that out). For first week friends are coming too. Should be about 19 weeks then.

Hope you ok pecka xxx

BeachBunni · 06/05/2007 22:57

Well I shall bid everyone adieu for a few days altho may pop on a see what's happening if I get bored with the sunshine

Lizzer I love camping. There's something about being in the fresh air under the stars with a big fire blazing.

Pecka - hope you're ok. Look after yourself.

Awen - I know what you mean about being weepy. Today I cried at never been kissed and I can't stand that movie.

Connie- gald your still with us. I must admit my curiousity was piked and I looked at the posts myself. Am one of those awful sitter on the fences as can see both sides but it reminded me a bit of school - and why I was so glad to leave!

Keep well everyone xo

MamaMaiasaura · 07/05/2007 00:18

beachbunni .. so did i when i didnt think he was going to show

Caz10 · 07/05/2007 08:41

beachbunni have a fabulous time!

awen I am 9 weeks and have done a pg test every week since getting bfp at 4 weeks hee hee! I have another 4 left in the box too, so hopefully I'll have had my scan by the time they are finished and I will be able to relax a bit. I fully intend to keep on using them though!

Pecka how are you??

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 07/05/2007 12:13

DH has done blood again today. Todays level is 65,180.

Caz10 · 07/05/2007 12:19

Is that good or bad news Pecka? Hope it's good x

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 07/05/2007 12:27

I dont know

72 hours ago it was 44000ish

so not doubled but rising

curiouser and curiouser

Caz10 · 07/05/2007 12:52

Rising is good!! There's surely no way it would rise at all if anything was wrong? Any science-y people out there who know?!! I think it sounds positive though.

OP posts:
mad4girls · 07/05/2007 13:41

sounds good to me pecka keeping evrything crossed for you hun.

Nbg · 07/05/2007 13:54

Oh wow Pecka that sounds good!

Is it a hard and fast rule that the levels have to double?

I still think that you are just earlier than what you originally thought.

thelady · 07/05/2007 15:37

Pecka: I know patience must be the hardest thing at the moment.... Why not treat yourself to a bit of escapism - a movie and dinner out maybe?

As an aside: is anyone else finding that dairy products aren't agreeing with them? I end up with a horrid metallic/bitter taste in the back of my mouth after anything like milk, yoghurt, cheese .

PeckaRolloverAgain · 07/05/2007 16:03

thelady, I am getting the hang of escapism. Not really feeling upset anymore, just getting on with things and what will be, will be

DH is very positive though

And I feel SO sick, wake up in the night feeling sick and wake up in the morning queasy as anything. This lasts ALL day except for when I am actually eating (which is very often!)

Loucee · 07/05/2007 16:09

Pecka - great news the levels are rising well.

Lady- I am off most food at the moment, especially dairy (no idea why) but I remember with DD that I always had a metallic taste in my mouth up until about 16 wks. I was relieved when it went away!

Mad4girls - fab that your DH changed his mind, I think booking a holiday is a great idea and we've got some brochures ourselves to try and find somewhere for next June.

DH has been ill over the weekend with a diarrhoea and sickness bug, I'm not sure if my nausea feeling is from morning sickness or if I'm getting the bug.

Nbg · 07/05/2007 16:33

Everyone should do this Here

If you click on this link and refer as many people as you need you can get free nappies and wipes.
I have managed it already!

cazzybabs · 07/05/2007 17:46

Pecka - I have a slight smug feelign about your HCG levels!!!!!! Fingers crossed it is all going to be OK!

JARM · 07/05/2007 19:13

Fab news pecka - fingers crossed for more good news soon.

My appetite is back with a vengence - im managing proper sized portions now - but still only 1 or 2 meals a day, but its good!

My boobs are SO sore though - cant even touch them without wincing..... thought this was supposed to be an EARLY pregnancy sign!

10+2 according to my dates, so fingers crossed all is well.

Roll on next monday for the scan! (DH still sure its twins!)

thisisnotmyrealMNname · 07/05/2007 20:05

Pecka - still got my fingers crossed for you.

Lizzer - I thought I was the only mad person on here camping this weekend! Just back this afternoon from a weekend at scout family camp with the oldest DD, youngest DD was an honorary beaver for the weekend! DH and I strategically planned the activities, taking in turns as to who went with which DD so that I could avoid any that I felt would be too strenuous (eg the pedal go-karting and bouncy castles) without drawing attention to the fact I was ducking out! (SIL was there too as my nephew is also a scout) Cracking bruise on my elbow from archery - just as well my booking-in appt won't be for at least 3 weeks as I could just see the questions if they wanted to take blood!

Hi to everyone else - only skimmed the weekend's messages so apologies if I've missed anything!

peanutbutter · 08/05/2007 08:11

hello everyone,

i'm feeling very anxious. Just before going to bed last night, there was some bright red very thin blood on the paper when i wiped myself after the loo. I could hardly sleep for worrying (had an early miscarriage in March). This morning it was brown and mucusy iykwim so i'm taking it that that's a good sign but i can't help but feel worried sick. I do still feel very pregnant, whereas with the MC the pregnancy symptoms had suddenly disappeared that morning and then i started to bleed.... I know it's common to bleed a little like this, especially in early pregnancy, but it's so awful feeling helpless to control anything .

thisisnotmyrealMNname · 08/05/2007 08:44

peanutbutter - I know you know this but try not to worry - it can't help - just be careful over the next day or so. I had bright red bleeding with DD2 - a sudden gush at 8 weeks, and a little at 12 weeks. She's 4 years old now and perfectly healthy. So it's not always bad news, but I can guess how you must be feeling after last time. Keep thinking positive thoughts!
