Can I tentatively join?

Not got a bfp yet but have been tired all week, period hasn't shown up (8 days late as of today) and last night I had a very vivid dream. This morning I was trying to breathe through some serious nausea on my way to work.

I spent all weekend crying and cleaning the house. Feel very up and down. I'm not sure if I'm pleased or devastated.

I've also bought a bulk pack of tests from Amazon which are due to arrive on Wednesday.

ladydolly · 29/01/2018 11:54

Calatheas You are the most patient pregnant woman ever!! You've not tested even though you're 8 days late? Amazing!!

HellaBella0 · 29/01/2018 12:04

I rang my GP this morning but they told me that I need to do a self referral to a hospital of my choosing? Is that the normal procedure? So annoying not being able to ask local friends who have babies.

foobio · 29/01/2018 12:07

Hello, I'm tentatively joining with a very faint bfp 7 days before AF due. Had the same last time and have an 18mo DD as a result! No symptoms here yet except forgetting words, but that's not unusual for me! EDD is 10th October.

Calatheas · 29/01/2018 13:27

ladydolly

Hahaha I wish I was so virtuous! No I tested last week and got a negative, but I suspect a late ovulation and I refuse to pay £10+ to test again. Amazon prime comes to the rescue.

My periods come like clockwork so this missed period is very suspicious.

Kah09 · 29/01/2018 14:16

Congratulations to all the new people! Grin

I couldn't resist today as I'd called he hospital to let them know the news. Another positive so that's good (I'd hoped for a reeaaaaaaallly dark line, like navy, but it's a cheap test and the result is good enough for me.)! Still there.

I think I'm 4w 4-5d but the diabetic nurse dated me 5 weeks and I'm being seen in 2 weeks and she suggested a viability scan from next week! I think I'll wait for week commencing 5th and go on 8th or something? So there's definitely a heartbeat if there is going to be one.

Is anyone else going for an early scan in the next couple of weeks? I'd booked a private one but think I get an NHS one anyway

I'm going to book an early reassurance scan for when I'm 8 weeks so that'll be around 19th Feb. I mc last time at 5+5 so I will need to have one for my own sanity. I am quite positive this time although still worried but my tests have been so dark from the 1st one I took at 12dpo and I took a clear blue weeks prediction one yesterday and got 3+ so my levels seem to be rising nicely

CRZ1988 · 29/01/2018 15:08

Do you have to pay for the early scans or will the hospital do it for you if you've asked?

Sorry, not done this before.....Blush

Kayleigh1986 · 29/01/2018 15:13

Hi ladies please could I join!

I have a 10yr old from a previous relationship, had MC at 5.5 weeks in October last year and have been trying ever since, this month we used Preseed, and we got our BFP on Saturday confirmed this morning with CB Digital.

So excited but after the MC I’m so worried. Have called the doctors and they said I need to go in and fill in a form for them to refer me to the midwife.

So looking forward to getting to know you all over the next 8-9 months x

Birdie963 · 29/01/2018 15:22

Congrats @kayleigh1986 I got my BFP after using preseed this month too!!! 😊 I also miscarried a few years back so am very nervous about something going wrong! Good luck with everything!!

Kah09 · 29/01/2018 15:23

@CRZ1988 I think I only get offered an early viability scan at 5-7 weeks because I've got a long term health condition (diabetes) which makes me high risk, otherwise I think the norm is a midwife appointment and a 12 week scan.

I'd booked a private scan in case NHS didn't offer me one (£95), but now I know they will I'll rearrange it for about 9 weeks , inbetween my 6-12 week scan just for reassurance. I had a mc last year so a bit anxious too.

I think if other people are anxious and spoke to their GP/midwife without a health condition, and asked for a 6 week scan, they might offer one to be kind? I'm not sure though Smile

CRZ1988 · 29/01/2018 15:36

@Birdie and @Kayleigh1986 another preseed BFP here Grin

Thank you @Kah09 I wasnt sure, I doubt hubby will pay for an early scan. He's a bit less flexible with the pennies than I am.....Ooh look a new mulberry Shock

Kayleigh1986 · 29/01/2018 15:40

We will literally never know if the Preseed was the deciding factor but I’ll recommend it to anyone!

Oh my EDD is 11/10/18

x

Kkk87 · 29/01/2018 15:41

Yeah I will have to pay for my early scan. Although I've had a mc I was told I would be treat no differently unless I had 3 mc

LimpLettice · 29/01/2018 16:13

As far as I'm aware extra scans are only offered in the event of bleeding etc or with pre existing conditions. I'm going to pay privately but they're not terribly expensive. I had one at about 8 weeks with DD and it was such a relief I'm very keen to do the same. They might offer me an extra as I'm so geriatric Grin

Katievb · 29/01/2018 16:38

Ye I’m going to book one at 8 weeks just for my own sanity haha! Then probs tell close family then xxx

Birdie963 · 29/01/2018 16:57

I've got one booked on the 21st of Feb! I had quite a few with my daughter as I had a MC before her so it reassured me lots. Grin

Kayleigh1986 · 29/01/2018 17:27

I've been to the doctors and filled in the forms to be referred to the midwife, I did put on there about the previous miscarriage and that we are keen to have an early scan for reassurance but I suppose we will just have to wait and see x

monkerina · 29/01/2018 17:34

I was under the care of fertility clinic last time so they did an early scan (pre-heartbeat, so I shelled out £100 for a private one too- kept me sane!) and am under their care again this time, so maybe they'll offer again?? Would get a private one around the 17th otherwise.

Hello newbies! Sad to see so many of us have had previous losses x

ladydolly · 29/01/2018 17:54

I've been told I can have an early scan because of my missed miscarriage, not sure if that's because it was a missed miscarriage? I don't feel pg today, no cramps or nausea, but I did another test and nice and dark. I suppose neither of these things really make a difference but slightly reassured. Booking in appt tomorrow with midwife.

Welcome newbies!!

monkerina · 29/01/2018 17:59

I think things differ by trust- my first pregnancy resulted in mmc, second in mc, but in my area you have to have had 3 before they'll investigate or provide extra/different antenatal care.

twobambinos · 29/01/2018 18:09

I went to the gp today.. She's put my due date as the 27/09 but she said sometimes you ovulate later after coming off the pill and my two dds were late so I'm fairly confident it will be October. I'm going for a private scan probably around ten weeks as the hospital won't call me until around 15weeks.

I did another clearblue digital on Saturday and it said 3+ which is reassurance enough for me to stop testing. I must have done about 6 of them that said 1-2 and it wouldn't move to 2-3 in line with dates so I'm glad to see the 3+ right on time. A small bit of nauseau so far but nothing major. My last two pregnancies I had horrible vomiting by now until the end. Maybe I'll escape this time. Hmmm wishful thinking

CRZ1988 · 29/01/2018 18:11

Does anyone have any crampy feelings from your belly button to your abdomen?

I'm trying not to panic but I've no idea what it's supposed to feel like and what's normal and what's not....🙈

Birdie963 · 29/01/2018 18:31

@CRZ1988 yes I've been getting cramping and aches, it's mostly normal 😊

Kayleigh1986 · 29/01/2018 18:41

Every time I get a niggle or a slight pain it worries me!
