Hello, just wanting to say hi and join in. I got a positive test result two weeks ago and this is my second pregnancy. I have a 4 year old already and this second pregnancy is already more queasy 😐 no actual vomit but hours of nausea. Interesting wirh a pre-schooler!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 18/02/2018 10:04

Haha @Milknosugar1 that would be a grim mix up indeed. However, I think you just wee in a sample pot and post it straight back in the post that day.

Been feeling queasy in the mornings but it lessens when I eat so I'm eating a lot - always do tbt but now I have an excuse!

Many people don't get any symptoms so don't worry. Fingers crossed for your 5 week mark tomorrow!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 18/02/2018 10:05

Hi @midnight1983 and congratulations!

midnight1983 · 18/02/2018 10:27

Thanks biscay. I am also eating a lot whenever I am not queasy...I am already v bloated and having to buy bra extenders at 6 weeks! Is this normal for a second pregnancy? Hoping I am bloated and not put on tins of weight in two weeks...

midnight1983 · 18/02/2018 10:28

Er...that should bbc say tons. Food on the brain!

ladydolly · 18/02/2018 10:55

Morning all! Welcome newbies!!

I had my early scan this morning, I was in and out in less than 3 mins but saw the heartbeat and they measured me a few days ahead of what I thought at 7+5. Feeling like it might actually happen now!!

I was in the clearblue ovulation test, missed out on this early one though - dammit!! :)

I am HUGE with this 2nd baby. My boobs didn't grow with my first but they're bigger this time. I'm less sick and less hungry but it's definitely still a strong symptom.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

justtowarm · 18/02/2018 12:00

@ladydolly congratulations on your scan :)

@midnight1983 I am also feeling sick a lot throughout the day but not actually being sick, it actually stops me in my tracks. With my little boy I only had very mild sick feelings every so often.

I also get an over whelming wave of tiredness everyday day between 10-11.30am. With my son I was tired in the evenings.

It's kinda interesting how it's different.... that or I should be thinking about work not daydreaming about symptoms 🙈

Pouxin · 18/02/2018 12:23

Tentatively joining! Due 26th October so very freshly pregnant. It’s my first and we’ve been trying for 18 months. I’m 35 and was starting to worry! Literally went for blood tests last week and my husband got a referral to have his swimmers tested and BOOM! Pregnant. So baby is already a contrary little so and so - sounds about right Grin Really really hoping it’s a sticky little poppy seed. Am just constantly willing my uterus to be as hospitable as possible...!

MamaL86 · 18/02/2018 14:10

Thanks @BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy. Wish I could join the trial but I need to go abroad for work in about ten days so not sure it would be feasible. Panicking slightly at having to go away so early in the pregnancy.
Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations on your BFP Flowers

Crazycatlady987 · 18/02/2018 14:36

Hi everyone! For my BFP last week, I'm 4+5, EDD 24th October and I'm 34. I used the Natural Cycles app to conceive - it was great and did the job! Although the we were TTC it was still a massive shock and we'd just booked flights to go away in October!

Crazycatlady987 · 18/02/2018 14:37

Most of that makes sense 😂

tappitytaptap · 18/02/2018 15:02

@midnight1983 my 2nd too, DS is 2 next month. I have the same compulsions to eat carbs to calm the nausea as last time, I'd put on quite a bit of weight already when I had my 12 week scan. Trying this time to be a bit more careful so its easier to lose afterwards 🙈 but can't imagine its going to be very easy feeling tired with an early rising toddler...cake will be the go to!

twobambinos · 18/02/2018 17:04

This is the worst weekend I've had so far. Yesterday some water and two biscuits. Today some 7up and salty crackers. I hope I'll be feeling a bit more normal tomorrow have been getting plenty of rest while dh entertains our two dds but I know he is losing his patience.

Crazycat lady welcome.. And no need to translate!
Welcome to all the newbies and congrats on the scans.

Lady it might just be bloating. I remember thinking the same on my second oh my god ill be huge my clothes don't fit already but then it went away and I didn't actually show for ages and ages like 25 weeks in maybe.

midnight1983 · 18/02/2018 18:33

I'm really glad I'm not the only eating so much! Also getting low blood pressure again as with 1st pregnancy (self diagnosed as not had an in person appointment yet) and need to eat salty food to feel better. Doesn't help with bloating! With my last pregnancy I was referred by gp and had pregnancy conformed etc. With this one I had to self refer. Has anyone else done this and if so when did you see a midwife in person for first time? Welcome to all newbies (Newby myself lol).

KnitKitty · 18/02/2018 18:40

Hello, joining in.

I found out today that I'm pregnant with my first.

It's not sunk in yet at all as I don't really have any symptoms and still can't quite believe it despite having a Clear Blue digital which says 2-3 weeks.

From what I can work out I'd be due around the 18th October.

Going to try and get to see my GP tomorrow. Have had some bleeding this week so a bit concerned.

Congratulations to everyone else on this thread!

EffRam · 19/02/2018 06:54

Congratulations new joiners!

Just had 2-3 on digi which is a good start to the week :) am 17dpo/ 4+3 I think.

Still fairly symptomless except a desperate need to wee... I'm not going more often but every time I do need to go it feels more urgent, like I'm ok then suddenly bursting with nothing in between!

midnight1983 · 19/02/2018 08:14

Good morning all. Why does my DS want porridge in the morning?! Smell of cooking milk really making my stomach turn. Congrats to new joiners!

EffRam · 19/02/2018 08:25

Also, sport. I play netball weekly, it's just a social league not anything hard-core. Planning on carrying on as long as feels ok as I really enjoy it. Anyone else play, or what exercise are others doing?

2ndPGchimp · 19/02/2018 08:34

Tell me about it @midnight1983!
My DS is dairy allergic and eats this weird cheese alternative which is really making me heave! He was eating it when my mil was here yesterday (we haven't told her) so I was trying to be discrete about my disgust!

Heightened sense of smell is definitely my strongest symptom so far, which is contributing heavily to the nausea. Long may they continue!

Welcome to all the newbies and good news on those early scans.

ladydolly · 19/02/2018 08:45

effram I swim 4 times a week but I haven't been for a few weeks because I feel too sick. With my first I still went to the gym up to about 30 weeks and only stopped because my bump was just too huge. I carried on swimming until the day before I had her (I was 2 weeks overdue) which frightened the life out of my lovely gym trainers who thought I might go into labour and they'd have to deal with it Grin

midnight1983 · 19/02/2018 08:46

2ndPG that sounds awful. I tried to wean myself off cheese a while ago and the smell of the vegan cheese (made with coconut milk) was appalling. The things we will put up with for children!

We have told a few close family members so far but think it will be difficult to hide until 12 weeks as I am way more wiped out than with first PG. My scan isn't until 14 weeks so it will be a bug patience test.

We ran a hypothetical sibling past DS and feedback wasn't great...

Lol @ hypothetical sibling! We also tested the water with dd last year and thankfully she loves the idea. Of course the reality could be quite different...

Vegan cheese is pretty gross. Dp has an allergy to cows milk. Violife is the best imo. The other ones are a bit 'chalky' (bleurgh).

justtowarm · 19/02/2018 11:39

@ladydolly @midnight1983 we tried to run hypothetical sibling past our 2 year old, he got really excited and we were thinking yay this is goood! But then he started saying one of his cousins name and that they will be his brother or sister... he would not accept that this was not the case and Now thinks that his cousin is his brother and sister 🙈 parenting fail moment

CaptainWentworth · 19/02/2018 11:47

Effram I’ve been wondering about sport/ exercise too. I had been doing the Chloe Madely 4 week blitz thing and really don’t feel like doing that any more- although tbh it wasn’t my type of thing anyway exercise wise.

I often cycle and sometime run normally - went for a half hour slowish run on Saturday evening and felt fine, and a bike ride on Sunday. I guess a lot of people would say cycling is risky, but I can’t see how it’s any more risky than usual until I have a bump which might affect my balance. Going to carry on with both unless/ until I stop feeling like it I think.
