SLR1906 · 07/02/2018 06:05

@caoraich thank you! Same here im the only one that i know of whos pregnant, its scary but exciting!

Ive been sleeping lots as im always super tired and have had cramps and back ache on and off but nothing major! I know i keep saying it doesnt feel real, i think it will sink in at 12week scan, seems like forever away though!!

caoraich · 07/02/2018 07:13

I know, 12 weeks seems so far!
I start a new job today which is a 6 month sort of secondment. I have backache and feeling a bit sick already. Going to make a fantastic impression on my new colleagues! Confused

@Kayleigh1986 I'd like to join your group but can I just double check that my friends on FB won't be able to see it?? Don't plan on telling people in real life for a wee while yet!

FallenAngel82 · 07/02/2018 07:23

I'm freaking myself out this morning that as I have barely any symptoms that something is wrong. No nausea, boobs are fine, cramping has eased off and my emotions seem to have levelled out.

I'm worried about ectopic pregnancy and don't know what to do. I won't have my booking app until 2 weeks and then a scan at 12. Seems a long time before someone actually checks that medically everything is fine. I feel like taking another pregnancy test but it will be number 4 and that feels slightly ridiculous.
I'm just so worried. I don't know what I should do.

Justgotmypositive · 07/02/2018 07:43

@FallenAngel82 I feel just the same. I have a bit of nausea and dry heaving and slightly going off tea. I don’t have sore boobs or really any other symptoms. I had hyperemesis last time so scared something is wrong this time because I feel relatively ok. I’d like an early scan but I’m not sure it would reassure me if I had one. I don’t think there’s much I can say to reassure you but I think it is very normal to feel this way and that there are lots of us feeling the same. I guess for the majority of us we will go on to have a healthy pregnancy.

frankiefumbles · 07/02/2018 07:54

I'd also like to join the fb group but will wait a little longer until I go public just in case someone I know is on there - not that it really matters.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone gets similar - re symptoms and early bleeding.

I had a bit of a panic yesterday culminating in a call to the GP, who called back and was fantastic. I had some bleeding (not spotting) when I wiped every time (TMI? If anyone wants more info on my experience I'll happily share it by PM but don't want to overload the thread here with grim detail!) from Mon PM right through to this morning (Tues AM).

He said, and I include this for anyone who might be concerned...but always ring for medical advice if you need it...he'd only be worried if I'd told him I was soaking a pad an hour or with extreme cramps which would signal ectopic. Which is an amazing amount of bleeding?! It's hard to believe that it's okay to bleed, but I guess some people have their periods almost as normal while pregnant, so goodness knows. He's sent me in for blood tests 48h apart and he says to me that these are to give me reassurance that all is well but he's not concerned, and that if I was very very worried I could get a scan to rule out ectopic totally but my symptoms don't really indicate that. The cynical side of my mind says he's letting me down gently and didn't want to do it over the phone, but equally he was very relaxed. Bloods today (5w+7) and Fri and may know more Monday.

The boobies have stopped expanding for the time being and I have less of the nauseous feeling, but I've still got that ache/twinge right at the bottom where I believe you feel the sensation of the uterus expanding. I believe this twinge/cramp is in the normal sphere of "pain to expect" but it's hard to tell for the first.

Hope everyone else is battling through the symptoms okay. It feels such a mind game at the moment but I guess as we all get further down the line we will all be more relaxed and talking about pros and cons of baby socks 😂

frankiefumbles · 07/02/2018 07:56

Fallen, from what the GP said on the phone to me, fewer symptoms aren't a problem and that they'd be looking for severe pain if they were worried about ectopic. It may be your body has settled down a bit because your teeny bean is comfortably nestled 😊

Kayleigh1986 · 07/02/2018 08:07

Hi ladies,

Yes the group is a secret group. No one can find it on a search, no one can see it exists unless you are a member, ad no one can see you are a member or the posts :)

tappitytaptap · 07/02/2018 08:21

Hi Ladies. Can I please join you? Got BFP on Sun (after a few days away drinking wine, eating pate and going in hot tubs 🙈) with baby #2, DS is 22 months. Think I am 4+3 today, couldn't quite believe cheap Sainburys test so did a clearblue digital at 4+1 and got 2-3 weeks. Think EDD around 13th Oct (v near my birthday!). Some tingling boobs and a bit of nausea and tiredness so far. Hope everyone is feeling OK 😁.

HoneyCake86 · 07/02/2018 08:23

6 weeks today and here comes the nausea 🤮

FallenAngel82 · 07/02/2018 08:37

@Frankie and @justgotmypositive, thanks for your messages. I feel much more reassured! Thank goodness I found this group! It's my first time so everything is new and I have nothing to compare it against.
Jeez this first trimester certainly is a roller coaster! Looking forward to the 12 week scan. Have a calming day ladies and little beans.

cupoftea84 · 07/02/2018 09:06

Hi ladies,

Congratulations everyone it's so exciting.

I'm new to MN, first time I've ever been pregnant! EDD 11/10/18.

Not sure what to expect really, hopefully a baby obviously but the rest is confusing. Have to wait ages for first midwife appointment- is it normal for them not to want to see you until you're 7 weeks? I'm being impatient and overly excited I think! Eck!

frankiefumbles · 07/02/2018 09:07

@tappitytaptap congratulations! You'll be fine. Your bean is no doubt reclining in the joy of a 1950s babybean who was able to have pate on toast all the way through pregnancy ;)

Chacha88 · 07/02/2018 09:20

@frankiefumbles I'm a little in the same boat, im 5 weeks today but last night went to the loo and after wiping there was some pinkish blood, Accompanied with mild cramps. This morning not much there and when wiping some brownish colour. But I have a dull ache not really painful bit I know it's there type of pain. Hope fully I will get an appointment at EPU today. Anybody else had any of these symptoms x x

frankiefumbles · 07/02/2018 10:56

@Chacha88 you're probably fine, I'm probably also fine. It's just so easy to let emotions run wild. I keep telling myself I'm only just coming up to 6w, it's only a few cells and yet I'm wandering around through the day feeling totally lost and like everything I'd planned for the next year (for myself!) is impossible. Can't concentrate, totally paranoid - haven't been sick but constantly feel travel sick. There's obviously a lot going on inside. Fun times - no one warned me about this! 😂

Hope you get your appointment fairly soon. I've got the GP at 12 for the first blood test and pacing time for an hour now til then! Atm not sure how I'm going to keep myself sane until the second test and the results come through but...I think the consolation is there is no such thing as a normal pregnancy. It's very individual.

I found it reassuring to look on YouTube and see some other people with what I think I might have (DH, a surgeon, reckons it's an "incompetent cervix" so it's leaking a bit(!) and I reckon it's what they call a subchorionic hematoma which is a cause of a lot of early pregnancy bleeding...according to my googling. I believe both are resolvable and also that spotting/bleeding is muuuuch more common than you think. Think of the people who continue having periods through pregnancy! Chin up x

Millipede170 · 07/02/2018 13:13

Hi everyone, congrats to all the new joiners. I am probably alone here but I love the symptoms and I sometimes get worried that I don’t feel pregnant ‘enough’! I actually can’t remember when the sickness kicked in with DS, but I would be weirdly relieved if it started because it’s like reassurance that everything is still progressing in there!

Anyway on that note, I cracked last night and booked an early scan at BabyBond for 7wks. Otherwise it just feels too long to wait until 12!

Threnody · 07/02/2018 16:45

Hi ladies, can I join you?
Bfp yesterday at 10dpo, nausea set in already.

caoraich · 07/02/2018 17:00

Hi tappity and cupoftea - I was going to ask same question about midwife appointment!

One of my friends told me that when she phoned her GP at 6 weeks the receptionist just laughed at her and told her to phone back "in a few weeks". Eeek. So not sure whether to phone my GP or not? My local NHS website is really confusing in terms of telling you what services are available e.g. direct midwifery services etc. I work for the NHS (tooootally different area though) and am half tempted to email IT telling them their antenatal info is rubbish Grin

frankiefumbles · 07/02/2018 17:16

@caoraich be interesting to hear what you find. When I rang the GP he seemed surprised I didn't have a midwife and when I got the bloods done she wondered why I did not have a "pack" but amusingly neither offered me any info on what I should have done. I feel like I need to get in line soon though because it usually takes ages to get an appointment at my GPs.

FallenAngel82 · 07/02/2018 18:05

@frankiefumbles my GP didn't even want to see me. Just told me to do a self referral to the ante natal clinic at my chosen hospital. Was quite surprised alas I guess this is how they do things now unless you've had complications in the past etc

Katievb · 07/02/2018 18:48

I rang my GP 2 days after getting my BFP and they told me to come in and fill out a form. That day a midwife rang me, introduced herself, and scheduled my booking appointment for when I will be 9 weeks. She also asked how I was feeling and gave me her number incase I have anymore questions. Don’t understand why it can’t be there same in every region Confused
Xx
