hi everyone sorry i havent been on in a while been a bit busy had a french exam today went quite well lol it was only a practice but it does get sent off to the examiner. i am really worried about my exams they are so close now can the baby tell if i am worried or upset.

dont like the idea of reuseables mum used to use them and keeps saying she will again but i think the are messy its better to just throw that stuff away lol but it is economically friendly and ALOT cheaper so use away hehe

honeyapple -sorry havent been on in a while am really behind now so here goes my rabble sorry all!im glad that im in the best age for childbirth sorry evryone i didnt know that hehe.my mum and bf and his family are all really supportive but my dad upsets me he doesnt seem bothered has anyone got any advice? do you think he doesnt like me as much? im glad maureen is nice even if it is an old matron name, hehe.

greedy- im glad i have the siblings but they are soooooo annoying there are just too many all the time at least i am just having one at one time hehe. i love them really.

fettleandminifettle · 27/04/2007 22:23

Hi Girls

I too haven't posted on here for a while - sorry!

Hope all is well with everyone - sorry to hear that you've had some worries Maisy. I hope everything settles down. I have to echo the others that I have no idea how you've managed to BF during all this time - well done you!

We used disposables with DD, but having seen how easy reusables are, I think we will try with this next one - seems silly not to, as it does seem so much easier. My only experience with reusuables so far was from my little brother, and that was 25 years ago!!! Terry toweling, safety pins, plastic over pants and buckets of bleach everywhere all the time - didn't really appeal when we had DD. Now I know that they are much more convenient!

Anyway, hope to catch up more later - this thread really does move fast, must come on here more often!!

take care all
xxx

hi everyone!

maisy-hope your feeling better and managing to rest.and hope you lo is ok with the bf stoping.i stopped bf dd in january (she was 2.6 then) and even now she rumages about in my top for a booby!!she handled stopping really well, but still likes to have a quick grope, think its a reassurance thing.its mainly when shes tired.

reusable nappies did appeal to me with dd,but as she is on soooooo many medicines a day,she often has the runs,so the idea of sorting out a reusable with runny poo in put me off!plus she goes through so many a day.shes still in nappies now,her consultant said because she has runny poo so much, she wont get the sensation of needing to go,it just happens.so potty training has been impossible, even for wees.she sits on it starts weeing and stands to ahve a look!

put my doppler on yesterday and found baby straight away (had a full bladder and think that helped!!)timed the bpm,and was 145.remeber a mw telling me you can tell the sex of a baby by teh heartbeat,im sure she said girls are faster, but cant remember the rate she said.dont suppose anyone else knows?

im dying to find out the flavour of this one!didnt want to at first, thought it would be noce to have a surprise, but im convinced this ones a boy (which probably means its a girl-im always wrong!!)

been getting really tearful just lately.my friends dad died last saturday and everytime my friend texts me,im bawling my eyes out!!her dad was only 57,me and my friend have known each otehr since primary school, and i was alwasy at her house.so have grown up quite closely to her family.

anyway, better go,coloured my hair the other night and the conditioner stuff thats with it,everytime i put it on my hairs sticky the next day.god knows why,so am off to wash it AGAIN!!!

hope you all have a good weekend!!!xxx

BloomingBennett · 28/04/2007 13:35

oh sorry j20 really i am i thought id mentioned you i dont know wat to think about my dad hes down today and just acting normal as if it doesnt exist and i feel embarassed to mention it to him my mums worried about it too she knows its getting me down because me and dad have always been really close. oh well

ejt- thats great news i am so worried about my oral exam its on the 9th of may and i stutter like crazy. ive written 7 double sided pages which i need to remember ahhhhh hehe. have you ever been to france? i would love to go

Pebblemum · 28/04/2007 13:42

GATECRASH!!

Buffy just popped in to check you were ok. I was told that its only possible to tell the sex from the heartbeat in the last trimester as before then the heartbeats are very similar and boys are supposed to be faster, ot sure if its over 150 or 160 BPM but dont hold me to that it was a while ago i was told that and i have am suffering serious pregnancy brain syndrome so i may be wrong lol

My LO has finally turned so no sunroof job for me Im so happy, now all i have to do is try to get her out early because if she goes full term she is likely to be bigger than DS1 was and he was 8.5lb so much for me hoping for a nice small baby like ds2 was

anyway i will sneak back out and will try to email you at some point over the weekend if my pc lets me (its playing up a bit lately) Take care

Sorry October ladies for the gatecrash!!

ejt1764 · 28/04/2007 20:18

BB - stuttering is ok - just remember to breathe (much like labour )

7 double-sided pages is far too much (IMO) - when you're trying to learn it, try looking at it as a walk - don't try to learn everything off by heart, try to learn it as you would if you were describing a route to someone (you go left here, then right here etc) ... sorry, not making much sense! Which exam board are you doing?

buffy - it's really odd, around here they say that it's girls who have the faster heartbeats - we hadn't found out the sex of ds before he was born, but all the midwives referred to him as 'he' - due to his heartrate! Perhaps Welsh babies are just different to everywhere else!

Happy Saturday everybody ... just off to babysit for a neighbour - last minute thing - there goes cuddling dh!

maisym · 28/04/2007 21:12

buffy sorry to hear your news

thanks to all for your thoughts xxx hope everyone is ok.

Honeyapple - never found bf tiring - it really helped me look after my other kids as I could always bf & have a free hand. I hadn't got my cycle back so didn't know I was preg - really surprised in fact as I wanted to be preg but thought I couldn't as bf on demand. Thought I was 6 weeks but was 10 weeks!! when I had my scan.

maisym · 28/04/2007 21:14

have been lying in bed & the garden - never do this normally as running after kids. Have read a whole penny vincenzi book so far - fab. Have had meals in bed & dinner on a tray - just wish I could enjoy this rest instead of worrying about the reasons. Have an appointment on monday to see what's happening.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 29/04/2007 09:13

ejt-thats what i got told that the girls had faster heartbeats, will ask mw when i see her a week tomorrow.

pebble-hasnt she arrived yet??!!!!me thinks you need a hot curry, washed down with pineapple juice, followed by a good bding!!!!that should shift her!!!bet your getting fed up by now arent you?text or email soon!!

hope everyone else is ok.had a text off my friend yesterday, she was taking her mum to filey for the day.its her dads funeral tomorrow.still cant believe hes died.

got another friend from hull coming to stay for the week,so might not get chance to come on here too often!

so have a great week everyone!!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 29/04/2007 09:30

just found this on mother and baby mag website

At your next antenatal check-up, ask the midwife to listen for your baby's heartbeat with an electronic monitor (Sonicaid), which amplifies the sound so you can hear it too. There's no more reassuring sound than the rapid pitter-patter of that tiny heart, which beats between 120 and 160 times per minute.

Some experts believe your baby's heart rate will reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. According to this theory, girls' hearts beat faster than boys'. However, your baby's heart rate will vary at different times of the day, so don't rely on it to help you choose names, or nursery colours - it's neither infallible nor scientific

honeyapple · 29/04/2007 09:35

Wow Maisy- Did you just feel PG? Why did you decide to do a test? Was it a shock- I know you already have quite a brood! Hope the results of what caused the bleeding are conclusive and nothing to worry about. Thinking of you.

MIL coming over today which is nice- get to talk baby stuff! DP still pretty unresponsive to talking about babies...

Yesterday 2 women that I know through DDs playgroup guessed that I was PG. I was wearing a tight T-shirt- and they were wondering why my tummy was sticking out! Good to know that they thought PG rather than she's been eating a truck load of cakes.

BloomingB- sorry to hear your Dad is being a bit uncommunicative. Men often find it difficult to know what to say to PG women. But when the baby is actually here, and he can hold it, I am sure it will be different. He will fall head over heels in love with it. Have you had a scan yet? Has he seen the pics?

Got to really tidy up now as house it a mess. Piles of CR*P in every room .

Hope you all enjoy your sunday. xx

BloomingBennett · 29/04/2007 10:08

ejt-cool and i did make sense hehe we are doing the WJEC exam and they are meant to be a bit more lenient right?i should probably shorten it shouldnt i lol my topics are general convo: mes etudes, musique et cinema. main convo: problemes des jeunes, tourisme and les annees du bac. i have a practice on tuesday but wont be there mwahaha so doing it on wednesday instead. very much worried lol

honey- thats what my bf keeps telling me and yes i had my scan at 12 weeks. me and bf thouht it was the most amazing picture in the world and so did every one else but he wasnt bothered, indifferent, kind of "oh thats nice" which kind of hurt bf too.

BloomingBennett · 29/04/2007 13:04

i think i felt the baby move yay!!!!

J20BABY · 29/04/2007 16:34

congrats blooming, its pretty cool isn't it, wait till you tummy looks like an alien's trying to escape with legs and elbows going off in all directions!

J20BABY · 29/04/2007 16:35

by the way, is anybody getting pain in the groin and like under the bump? i think its stretching pain but it bloody hurts.

OP posts:
maisym · 29/04/2007 18:27

honeyA - when I bf it felt not sore but strange, the smell of the supermarket made me want to leave, plus had what I thought was my period - quite surprised when I had my first scan! If I hadn't done the test would think I was getting fatter plus this bleeding now I would have thought was a strange period.

If things go ok I'd love to know if I'll be having a boy or girl.

I had the teacher at my kids school say to me why hadn't I told her I was preg as there was a rumour that I was! I do look preg but it could also be a tum from too much choc (well it is that as well )

asur · 29/04/2007 19:16

maisy - that must have been a bit of shock finding out your were pg... lucky in a way you didn't get your cycle back though I had been looking forward to a nice long break from periods but I was super-lucky and got mine back exactly a month after DS arrived, despite bf-ing on demand! at least with bf-ing now, it means I don't get horrible tender boobs and sore nipples like I did when pg with DS

congrats on feeling movement Blooming. It's such a nice feeling, isn't it? DH managed to feel LO moving this morning which was lovely, nice for him to know that it's really in there! And don't worry about your dad - like Honey said, I'm sure he'll be fine when baby arrives - you probably won't be able to keep him away from him/her!

I have just had to ban myself from eBay - can't believe how much maternity stuff I've bought! Think I now have more maternity clothes than normal clothes Have only spent about £60 though so I don't feel too guilty. MUST STOP BUYING though!

Hope all is well. Good luck for tomorrow Maisy!

MrsFish · 29/04/2007 20:22

Hi everyone, am finally home but am now absolutely knackered, didn't sleep well for the three nights we were away, lots of stressful dreams. I so missed my ds, cried buckets when I left him with his grandma on thursday, picked him up at 6pm this evening and he wouldn't come to me, I think he was sulking and making me pay for abandoning him He came round after an hour though and I had lots of cuddles and kisses off him before bed. I can't believe how much I missed him, and he seems to have grown up again too in the space of three days

I am 18 wks today and have started to feel little kicks which is reassuring, can' wait till my scan in two weeks

J20BABY · 29/04/2007 20:26

aw bless mrsfish, what date is your scan? i'm too lazy to look for the stats

OP posts:

Pheebe · 30/04/2007 08:09

BB that sfab news about the baby moving, its the best feeling in the world isn't it. How far along are you now?

I'm 14-15 weeks (depending on whose scan you belive) and have been feeling little flutters for a couple of weeks now, felt DS really early too though no-one believed me at the time.

My bump seems to have well and truly emerged this weekend so I'm going to have to face trying to find some maternity clothes I guess and my t-shirts are just too short now.

Maisy, good luck with the scan, everything crossed for you

Morning all

Can't stay long. V keen to hear about Morocco and gypsy caravan experiences.

Just lost another post . Does anyone know why this happens. Always when in hurry. Press 'post message' and the thread disappears along with everything I just typed. Haven't got time to say it all again - I'll come back and dip in again when less pressed for time.

Harrumph!
