Hi Folks, Sorry for not posting sooner, eberything was excellant with the scan, baby is doing well and even if we had wanted to find out the sex we couldn't have as the little bean was jumping around all over the place

gemmamc I know what you mean about the tickling from the inside thing, I have been getting this the last couple of days but it happens very quickly so the feeling has gone before I have time to think if its the baby or not, I hope it is though cause it feels kind of cool

ejt1764 · 04/05/2007 18:54

polarmummy - great news!

just popping in to say hi ... have a lovely weekend everybody! I intend to sleep - lots!

J20BABY · 05/05/2007 11:15

hi all, i moved all of my stuff in yesterday to my new house, started at 6;30 am and didn't finish till 7pm!

its upside down, and i'm shattered but very pleased

i've been feeling movement for quite a few weeks, i'm 18 weeks by now, and they are actually quite violent, i don't remember it being like this with dd, but think i had a bit more padding then! and it isn't just moving about its really hard kicks or punches, i hope it doesn't get worse because it is quite painful, although reassuring that its moving, anyone else getting beaten from within?

Hi J20

Well done on the move. I loved moving house, its like being on holiday for weeks .

I've been feelin movements for a few weeks too (14/15 wks now) and felt a definite flip flop about half an hour ago, probably in protest at me bending over to do the garden. I felt DS really early too (no one believed me) and DH could feel him kicking before I was 5 months gone! so hoping for another wriggler, its the best feeling in the world

Hope everyones having a good bank holiday, we're off to buy more plants for the garden now...DH is delighted

buffythenappyslayer21 · 05/05/2007 17:07

hi everyone!just thought id pop in to say hi and catch up on the last weeks goings on!!

had my friend from here all week,so managed to get out and do some shopping!got some fab maternity trousers from new look and some more tops from dorothy perkins.i managed to upset someone in dorothy perkins though, was stood at the till waiting to pay and this woman came up behind me,had chosen the same top as me (lovely pink and white floaty cotton smock one) and she asked when i was due (i mustve beamed from ear to ear because i thought "ohhhh at least i dont just look fat anymore!!") told her when i was due,and asked when she was due......shes not pregnant!felt a pillock and went very red and couldnt stop apologising!the girl on the till was wetting herself trying not to laugh!!i noticed on my way out of teh shop that they also do teh maternity styles in normal styles!whoops!!!

am starting to feel very pregnant now,and am blaming teh weather!!my feet have been like balloons all week.

has anyone started wearing maternity bras instead of underwires yet?ive had to,my boobs were killing me and it was such a relief when i dug out my maternity ones from when i bf dd.

got appointment with mw on monday, and have become fab at finding the baby with my doppler,so if she has trouble i can show her!!!

thats all for now, having a sneezing fit so better go!!

hoep you all ahve a great rest of weekend!!

MrsFish · 05/05/2007 18:34

J20 - glad you moved in ok

I have only been feeling slight kicks, barely there, nothing that can be felt from the outside yet. I remember that DH could feel at 20 wks with ds, I just can't imagine that he will be able to at 20 wks this time, its only a week away.

Buffy - I'm still wearing underwired and will be for as long as I can, I did dig out my bigger knickers though

PolarMummy · 05/05/2007 19:31

Glad you got moved in ok J20, I am sure you are really tired sounds like a very long day.

Has anyone started looking for prams and buggies ect, if so what would you recommend? DH and I went looking today but have really no idea what we are goingo to go for!

PolarMummy · 05/05/2007 19:33

Oh and Buffy I am with MrsFish, I am still wearing underwired and will be for as long as I can

asur · 05/05/2007 19:54

Hi all. I've just managed to catch up with thread again Funny to read about the decision to find out the sex - everyone (apart from my family) I've told about being pg have asked what it is or when I'll find out! I didn't expect that. We're not finding out though - not having any scans so no way to know till he/she pops out... We have already picked names though - first and second names for both boy or girl! at our organisation!

I'm feeling more and more movements now though and they are getting more violent. Have been feeling it since about 10.5weeks which I thought was quite early but still nice - good to know he/she is busy in there

Am quite of those wearing underwired bras though - am still bfing so wearing nursing/maternity bras... Really miss my underwires but guess it'll be a while before I'm back in them Am with MrsFish though - got my HUGE pants on!

Polar - we got a Graco Liberty Elite pram for DS - I love it. Coverts from pram to pushchair and can go forward and rearward facing. Good for walking out and about but doesn't fold very flat so not so good if you need to get it in the car often. We have to get a new one soon though - decided on an E3. If you are planning on future kids, then might be a good idea as can be used as single or double pram.

Ok, think I've rabbled on long enough - sorry! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend. xxx

maisym · 05/05/2007 20:45

hello all - I've not felt any moment yet - think it was around 20 weeks or so with my last - must have thick insides!!!

Also my risk from the nuchal & blood test was 1:270. My doc says no need for an amnio & I don't want one but am now thinking perhaps I should.

Stopped bf a week ago when I was bleeding - miss it. STill weraing bf bras though - comfy. HAdn't thought about this until now!!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 06/05/2007 09:52

mrsfish, snap with the big knickers!!!cant be doing with cheese cutters anymore!!

polar, ive been looking at prams for ages!i bought dd a jane slalom pro in january, and dh wanted to get the carrycot for it for the new baby, but it takes up two seats in the car (and as ive got millions of kids thats not good!!!)ive got an emmaljunga city cross, but cant get the carrycot for it from anywhere, but i'll use it with a footmuff i think.also going to get a mamas and papas prammette for the car.they fold up small, and as we have already got a buggy in the car for dd (she cant walk very far without losing her breath-so i got a ziko buggy for her as they fold up small aswell) we need something smallish to fit in the boot,so a prammette is ideal.

my cousin is pg aswell, and shes gone and ordered a bugaboo cameleon.i did a thread on it before as i thought she was being cheeky, shes ordered it (£700+ all the accessories and carseat) and is expecting her mum (who is on benefits) to pay for it!!!cheeky mare!!!she said she wants it because gwen stefani has one!she did order a stone and black one,but her 20 wk scan said she was having a girl,so shes changed the order at the pram shop to a pink.will wet myself laughing if its a boy!!!!

am definately sticking to my non wired bras now, felt so comfy yesterday,no digging in bits (my boobs ahve grown...again...so my underwired ones were getting uncomfy!)

anyway,hope your all ok!!

J20BABY · 06/05/2007 10:00

good morning everyone.

re bra's-i have measured myself and it looks like i need a h cup already, was only a dd to srart with! can you get underwired bra's that big?

think i might have to pop to mothercare or somewhere today to get a proper materenity bra, why don't asda or primark go to that size cup?!

any reccomendations?

OP posts:
buffythenappyslayer21 · 06/05/2007 12:34

j20,have a look on bravissimo.co.uk they do them to really big sizes.i was 38h when bf dd,stopped in januauy, and went down briefly to an f cup,but am upto gg now!they'll be banging around my ankles by the time the baby comes!!!

also have a look on ebay, there are some fab shops that do big boobed bras, and they are alot cheaper than the high street shops.(think one was called belle-lingerie and another called dawn to dusk)

buffythenappyslayer21 · 07/05/2007 10:49

morning all!!

been to see my mw.everything ok.blood pressure abit low,but she wast too worried about it.was abit shocked that i wouldnt be seeing anyone now until im 28 weeks, but told her about spd pain starting again,so shes seeing me in 4 weeks now incase i need to see a physiotherapist.

been given leaflets on the anti d injection.had it before when i bled in pregnancy, but now they give it at 28 weeks.

also got given a leaflet on vbac's,and the risks involved with another cs.definately still going to go for cs,the thought of the scar pain i had in labour last time gives me nightmares!!!

been up to look how the builders are getting on with our new house, and its coming along nicely.bit surprised at how small the garden is,and weve got the biggest tree ever in our garden!!but at least the house will be big enough for us all.

hope everyones well!

honeyapple · 07/05/2007 18:51

Evening.

Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday weekend.

Buffy- good to hear all ok with MW. My blood pressure is low too- always has been. I do get cold and tired- which I think is associated with this, and sometimes dizzy if I get up too quickly- but otherwise I dont think it is a problem. Absolutely better than high blood pressure.

J20- well done with the house move. Very exciting. I hope it is a great new start for your new family.

As for bras- I am absolutley sticking with my underwired- cant stand maternity bras- nursing bras are a neccessary evil however. I do have one black nursing bra which is fairly acceptable- but they are usually hideous. Anyone know of any sexy feeding bras? Is there such a thing??

Had to discard my first pair of trousers so far. Pair of nice jeans... wore them for half the day with the top button undone- only for the zip to completley go down until I was rather revealing myself! However, I have a great pair of hipster skinny jeans from Top Shop that are totally fine... sit just under the bump. Mind you they are SO low that they are almost falling off .

We all went swimming yesterday- I only had a bikini... really felt a bit paranoid about the PG vs. fat tummy issue. I asked DP whether he thought I looked PG or fat... and he said neither... ... what was that supposed to mean???? Sometimes men just don't get it do they!

Got to go get DD in the shower- she had her face painted today... chose to be a witch... so currently she has a rather insipid green face.

betsycoe · 07/05/2007 19:46

Hi, hope everyone is making the best of the long weekend.

J20 - I hope you're settling in well in the new house!

On the bra subject, I've been using shock absorber sports bras and they are so comfy (just not the prettiest of designs!). They go up to big cup sizes so they might be worth a try Buffy?

I've been feeling movements since 14 weeks but since last week they have been much stronger. I play in a brass band and everytime I go to practice he/she goes mad. It either hates the music (quite likely if it has inherited its fathers hate of brass music) or is having a dance in there!

Kittiwake · 08/05/2007 08:24

Hi All

Just a quick pop in to say hello I am back from my holiday in a Romany caravan was lovely and had such great weather.

Back to reality today work and blood test with midwife.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/05/2007 09:17

went on the bravissimo website and they have got a very pretty nursing bra, makes a change to jsut plain black or white, this is pastelly colours.

feeling huge today,my bump seems to be growing at a rapid rate!!

hope you all are ok,and have a good day!!

ejt1764 · 08/05/2007 09:50

Apologies for cross-posting ...

am really worried - started feeling tightenings last week (am now 19 weeks) - then last night, they got painful and woke me up. Have got crampy pains all down my legs, and basically feel dreadful.

Have phoned hospital, and have to go to assessment unit for 1130 ... they tried to reassure me on the phone, but am really worried, and freking out just a little bit.

It's compounded by the fact that I haven't felt any movement at all over the weekend - baby was tapdancing on my side last week - but since Friday - nothing!

Think of me girls - am going to surf mn to take my mind off things ...

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/05/2007 09:53

ejt-hope everythings ok,thinking of you chuck.xxx

KezzaG · 08/05/2007 09:54

I havent been on this thread for a while, and just saw your post ejt so apologies to others but I will catch up poperly later. But for now, good luck ejt. I have absoutely no experience of anything like this but I have my fingers crossed it is just one of those pregnancy things and nothing bad.

Wanna talk about something unbaby related?

Apricott · 08/05/2007 10:06

Just popped in for a quick look and hello.

ejt - very sorry to hear what you're going through. Thinking of you and keeping fingers firmly crossed for you.

Just a quick post as I'm busy at work so don't have time to catch up properly.

I am thinking of you, EJT, and desperately hoping that everything is okay for you and the little one... Fingers and toes and everything else crossed for you...

Mumpbump · 08/05/2007 12:33

Oh and congratulations to Polarmummy! I used a sling for the first 5 months with ds and only then bought a stroller from Mothercare. It was much cheaper, much more convenient for getting around and meant he didn't spend lengthy periods lying on his back so less risk of flat head syndrome (in my personal and uninformed opinion). I will be doing the same with no. 2 and ds will either go in his stroller or walk. We did buy a bugaboo frog from him recently which is alright. There are loads of second hand ones around - no way I would pay £700 for a new one!
