@Heregoeseverything
I have been feeling her move for a while now movements started early and midwife confirmed I was feeling then and it wasent in my head which I thought but some days we don't get much movement and some days we do and I just have a fear of premature delivery I think week 20 to week 30 is the hardest part😫 Being my first baby I have no idea if how I feel is normal or whether I'm being ridiculous my partner gets annoyed with me when I cry about it so I have to lie and say I'm upset about a tv program ect which doesn't help 😪 I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and all my scans have been perfect ect and she was 13 oz at 20 weeks so I have a feeling she is going to b a big baby 🙈 And just don't my mum was playing that full blast the other day and she didn't realise the words untill I came downstairs crying my eyes out 💔

Heregoeseverything · 09/03/2018 15:26

@waterfountain97 I do think anxiety in pregnancy is normal to some extent but you sound like you might need to talk to your GP. Do you usually suffer from anxiety? Your DP sounds very unsupportive, my DH didn't share my anxiety but certainly empathised and made me feel better. That's the least your DP could do when you are a bundle of hormones and carrying his child!

Minster2012 · 09/03/2018 22:02

My friend is feeling exterior kicks now at 20 weeks & we had our scan today, our boy is a little awkward sod tho & wasn’t moving to get the measurements, we got some then after lots of moving we got told to go get my friend some chocolate & run up & down the stairs whilst the next lady went in!

Finally he moved, checked it was a he & all organs ok, but he was the same for the nuchal so he is either a) lazy like his dad or b) awkward c) very comfy or d) a combination!!! In the comments section it actually says “very technically difficult to scan due to consistently awkward fetal lie!”

Oh well!! I hope everyone else’s us easier!! 🙈🤣

Still no movements yet at 20+6 Sad Low, anterior placenta so I'm trying not to be concerned about it, because baby was really wriggly on the scan, and all measurements etc were perfect, but I'd like some reassurance please!

@Windowgazer123 That must have been terrifying. Glad it's all OK, and the bleed was nothing to worry about.

@Waterfountain97 I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious Flowers I second @Heregoeseverything and think it would be worth going to see your GP. Sorry to hear that your other half isn't being supportive - do you have friends or family you feel you can talk to about it?

@Minster2012 Hopefully he's just being awkward during the pregnancy and he'll be a perfect angel once he's here Grin

Windowgazer123 · 10/03/2018 08:47

@karategirl
Thank you. Yes, it was scary. I’m only 20wks but it feels like I can’t rember what life was like before I was carrying a baby and even contemplating it was too much to bear. It’s amazing how attached you get to a little person that’s been in your life for just 4/5 months.

20w + 5 today. Had a ‘reassurance scan’ last week and she is moving lots but still have minimal bump and not feeling a thing.
Arghhhhhh. Hurry up!

KTD27 · 10/03/2018 10:42

karate another anterior placenta here - try not to worry the movements are incredibly subtle!

KTD27 · 10/03/2018 10:45

Oh and also if it’s low I wonder if that’s another reason you aren’t feeling much. The only things I’m feeling are very low down. Mine is higher up I believe.
I have read it explained as punching someone through a pillow 😊 not sure if that’s helpful but you get a sense of how much more muffled the movements are

lifechangesforever · 10/03/2018 17:43

@karategirl - I'm 21+3 now and still nothing I could concretely tell you is a kick.

I can tell when she's awake now, I feel 'popping' inside but I can't feel or see it from the outside. I also reckon I miss it most of the time anyway as I can only feel it when I'm really still and quiet.

My friend told me she didn't feel anything until 26 weeks, they say that you shouldn't be concerned until 24 weeks.

I'm sure we'll get there soon!

karategirl · 12/03/2018 21:43

Drumroll 21+1 and I felt something today! Mr Karate's birthday, and he opened his card and present in bed, started reading the German instructions for his present (for some reason!) and Karatebaby went nuts (as far as these things go). Hooray! Still no proper bump though.

InstructionsRequired · 12/03/2018 22:09

YAY, great news @karategirl and still very envious of your bump situ. This weekend I got told by a complete stranger that I am HUGE for 5 months... erm, thanks love!! Blush
23+5 and felt my first proper kick from outside belly yesterday, can’t wait for more so DH can feel her moving too

lifechangesforever · 13/03/2018 05:25

I've definitely got a wriggler now at 21+6. She literally didn't stop yesterday, not sure how she isn't absolutely shattered Grin

I've caught her 5-6 times from the outside too if I just sit and watch my tummy (new favourite hobby) but hubby is too impatient to wait.

LouiseofChalky · 14/03/2018 15:11

My baby is due on 11th July. This is the first time I’ve posted on this thread and apologies if this has already been covered but I wondered when you ladies were asked about birthing options with your midwife. I’m not sure when I’ll really have to put my mind to a ‘birth plan’.

Thanks Smile

Winterfellismyhome · 14/03/2018 18:56

Welcome @LouiseofChalky ! Ive not been asked anything about birthing plans yet but i dont think ill write one. Whatever gets baby here safely is fine by me. Im 24 weeks today so due on the 3rd of July

lifechangesforever · 14/03/2018 20:27

Nothing here about birthing plans either.. I do have a midwife appointment at 26 weeks so maybe it will be mentioned there?

LouiseofChalky · 15/03/2018 08:04

I guess we’ve got plenty of time to start thinking about a plan. In the meantime I should probably start thinking about buying some baby bits though, my nervousness has held me back to date but I have heard there can be a little wait for some things, like nursery furniture. One of my friends has waited 8 weeks for her cot!

lifechangesforever · 15/03/2018 18:31

I was completely impatient and had our nursery pretty much done by 16 weeks when we found out we were having a girl, problem is we just keep adding little bits to it!

I've now got to that point where now I can feel kicks, I'm getting concerned every time I haven't felt her moving! It's going to be a long 18-20 weeks lol.

Winterfellismyhome · 15/03/2018 23:15

Hows everyone's movements? Im still not 100% that i can feel her Sad im 24 weeks now and was hoping she'd be kicking away.

lifechangesforever · 16/03/2018 07:28

Felt mine properly at 21+4 with anterior placenta and when I realised what they were, I realised that I had been feeling them lightly for a week or so before that.

My friend didn't feel anything until 27 weeks and midwife said that's completely normal too.

InstructionsRequired · 16/03/2018 09:46

@louiseofchalky had my 24wk midwife appointment yesterday and no mention of birth plan as yet. Still a way off I guess and I haven’t given it a 2nd thought yet... or prepared my life/home in any way whatsoever for the new arrival! Have to give in my maternity forms in a few days and still wondering what date to put down to start mat leave... think I could win the award for most disorganised mum-to-be of the year!

karategirl · 16/03/2018 21:59

@Winterfell I've not really felt very much at all since the other day. Try not to panic, it's not unusual not to feel anything yet.

I feel like I've been inflated over the past couple of days though. People wouldn't think I'm pregnant unless they know, but I definitely feel huge now.

Winterfellismyhome · 20/03/2018 14:31

@karategirl i had a midwife appt today and her heartbeat was checked and all is well. She also went crazy when i was falling asleep yesterday so feeling a lot more content now. How are you?

karategirl · 21/03/2018 07:01

That's great news @Winterfell, glad everything's going smoothly. I'm not too bad thanks. Still not a lot of wriggling, but I'm only 22+3, so trying not to overthink it. I've decided to try and wean myself off the cyclizine to see if I can manage without it... Although definitely taking some with me to London today as an emergency supply!

In my wisdom, I'm going camping over Easter weekend. Looking forward to seeing how that goes!

Minster2012 · 25/03/2018 08:43

We got asked early on about birthing plans but I suppose ours is different as it’s one person giving birth then another couple walking away with the baby! But our midwife asked us straight away, my friend is wanting a home birth same as for her last baby but as we are an IVF baby we are ‘high risk’ so consultant led so have extra scans & have to be ‘discharged’ from a scan at 36 weeks to be allowed to have a home birth

InstructionsRequired · 25/03/2018 15:11

Hey ladies, has anyone started thinking about travel systems yet? I’m almost ready to make my first baby purchase and was hoping there might be some Easter sales on next week so thought it’d be a good time to do some research. Went into my local Mothercare and they only have 2 travel systems in the whole shop and didn’t like either of them. Now don’t know where to start to try and find one?!

Winterfellismyhome · 25/03/2018 17:22

@InstructionsRequired i bought one a few weeks ago at the baby show. They had a buggy obstacle course and everything! Loads of options there if theres one near you soon. We went for the cosatto wow plus it came with the car seat free.
