Bumper...if bubba arrives on time I'll have had ten weeks...but considereing three of those have gone already, I think I made the right decision.....mind you with DS I worked till 38 weeks and he was 10 days overdue....it seemed like an eternity as there was only me to worry about back then... this time I think I'll have my hands full till the last minute.

my job had been getting me down for ages, and it was the best thing for me to stop when I did....not thrown anything at DH for three weeks now

bumperlicious · 20/04/2007 19:56

Yeah Tallulahbelle, like you say this will be the last time we have to ourselves for a loooong time! I've got a stack of trashy novels that I've been saving. Can't wait! Only 14 working days to go!

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 19:58

I started my mat leave at 36 weeks with dd bumper. It was prob a bit early as she was 2 weeks late and I did get v bored, but i don't think I could have physically worked for much longer as my job was quite active and stressful. Work for as long as you feel you are able to without getting too tired or stressed, your health is much more important than your job.

Off for a comfy seat and to prove to DH (due home very soon) that I don't spend all my time chatting to you lovely lot.

busy weekend planned (tidying the garden and friends to stay), so won't be about much...have a good one and I'll catch y'all later

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 20:01

Was talking to a friend today...her sister stopped work last week, eight weeks before her due date...she had her bubba two days later.....

bumperlicious · 20/04/2007 20:04

I know it'll be worth it Daisy. After my two weeks off sick I'm now at about 16 days without crying - that is an achievement! I think I rejuvenated just enough to get me through the next three weeks then will definitely be ready to finish.

Sympathies on the fanjo pains for everyone too. Mine to has mostly been my sacro-iliac joint until now, but this week the fanjo splitting pain has started, especially when getting up off the sofa or turning over in bed. Hope it's not SPD, guess it doesn't really matter what it is, just effing hurts like buggery! See the physio on monday so will hopefully get a support belt or something.

bumperlicious · 20/04/2007 20:06

Daisy - you have real friends? Er, I'm afraid that's not allowed. You're one of us now, mwahahahahahaha!

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 20:10

No, i only make them up to make my life sound more interesting

I've been crying since I stopped work, but only in a happy, emotional, loved up with all things baby kind of way.....or when I can't see DS crap on the floor due to my bump and walk into toys and boxes and bang my shins

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 20:10

G'Night all.....

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 20:13

I haven't got caught up with you all yet - what a day I've missed. Just wanted to say this - how about inbedwithmymellors seansgirl? Hope you haven't become aka already.
I want one of those phones for DH Holly! Then see if he dares work til midnight too often!!!
Be back later - kids killing each other in bath and I only cleaned it yesterday!

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 21:11

Back again...got sucked in by e-bay...bidding on a new medela swing breast pump which ends in about 45 minutes.

I can't wait to change my MN name to Daisybumpless

riabutterflew · 20/04/2007 21:19

My computer took over today and refused to turn on until I'd done a good days work. Have spent the day mucking out DS2s room and making space (?) for baby stuff so I can start getting it out of various hiding places and washing/cleaning it. Have decided there is not much room and that both boys have too many clothes (due to stuff being given by friends with older boys). Not that I am ungrateful.
DS2 is actually asleep in his own bed too!!! All I have to do now is repeat that every night and get him to stay there all night too.

Sadly now I have to go and move all the left over crap I haven't put away yet (too small clothes for the LO etc) so I can go to bed too. Then only soft toys and books to sort out tomorrow and I can cross a room off my list. I AM SO EXCITED (in a very sad way). Only trouble is I will then have to start another room and DS1s is MUCH MUCH WORSE.

DH came home on his break and asked if I had carried the chest of drawers upstairs. I wonder how he thought it got there? (I did take it in bits which were not heavy). BTW I have had an emergency hospital bag since before christmas, but will soon be packing a proper one (and bought some maternity pads the other day to go in it - TMI!)

Hope your weekend not too rubbish Holly - will they stay away for a bit after the baby?

I am off for a nice lavendar bath (that's why the boys are asleep so early!) - hope I don't miss too much.
Sorry long post.

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 21:29

Hi ria, sounds like a productive day you've had! How very organised of you to have a hosp bag already! I need to get an emergency one sorted, just in case. I am a very disorganised person except when it comes to having the right things to hand. Even now dd is nearly 2 I still take a full changing bag with clothes, nappies, wipes, snacks, juice etc. out with me everytime I leave the house. I would hate to go into hosp without all the things I need.

The boys won't be coming from when I'm 36 weeks til a couple of weeks after bubs is born. I don't care what their mother says, that's just what's going to happen. There's no way I'm going to risk going into labour whilst they're here. It's not as if they live up the road and dp can take them home quickly, it is a 3 hour round trip!

Hope you win the pump daisy. That's the one up from the one I've got so it might be less noisy!

It says on the blurb tha it is very quiet and discreet and good for taking out and about....not sure if it's going to sound like a tractor . they retail at about £85 and this one is currently at £36...bargain...DH has said I can bid up to the price of a mini

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 21:35

A mini? What about £10,000?

Grin
Daisybump · 20/04/2007 21:37

for 10K I'd want a full milking shed, not a single bloody pump

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 21:40

We could all sit in your milking shed in a long row with our expression bras on being milked! What a picture!

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 21:43

Whilst you are ebay daisy, you could bid on this !!! PMSL when I saw it!!

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 21:46

Strapless? WTF????...are they trying to make these things look glamourous FFS?...oops 'scuse my language!!

Daisybump · 20/04/2007 21:47

OOOOH...just realised, you must have been searching for Expressions bras....the secret's out now HandA

hollyandalice · 20/04/2007 21:48

Just wanted to see if anyone had actually bought one ever. Clearly the person who is selling it bought one with the intention of using it! Maybe you could use your tubigrip with two holes cut in!

OP posts:
Daisybump · 20/04/2007 21:51

..now there's a thought....

riabutterflew · 20/04/2007 23:04

My boys have trashed the living room. Little sods. I suppose one room is tidy, just it's not suitable for entertaining the vicar (?) or HV.
Must go and rest my eyes. Will be trying that heartburn yoga tomorrow (could do to try it now but just can't).

Have a good weekend all.
