Hi CD

Hows it going? well, not too bad considering lack of sleep, sore boobs/nipples, ds1 being into everything(esp things he shouldn't), dh who's not used to being at home etc...
But seriously, things are pretty much ok William was up for most of last night, so feeling a bit grotty today, but happier now that the baby blues seem to have passed (and I had my haircut yesterday)I tried on a pair of jeans yesterday, and they fitted!!!!!
Also I've never had boobs before in my life, so the cleavage I have now is far out-weighing any pain

Being pregnant seems like ages ago, even though William is only 8 days old. Dh has already hinted at no.3 Told him we'll talk about it in a year (can't believe I'm even considering it)

Registered his birth yesterday. Nearly filled up when asked for place of birth. Our home address is now on his birth certificate. I will never want to move

Hiya SOSPL

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:21

CD - I too have been thinking a lot about Smole, and hoping that Jesse is doing better. I've been thinking about them on-and-off all morning, oddly enough.

All my 'signs' have come to nothing, and I am due a sweep tomorrow morning; due date is actually Sunday, but because of going for a VBAC and therefore no chance of being induced, they are sweeping a couple of days early. Oh well, at least I'll be clean and tidy if I do have to have another C-section...

Good luck to those whose signs seem to be lingering

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2007 11:22

Absolutely wonderful runny - Sounds like you are having a fabulous Babymoon - Enjoy the cleveage too!!

zazas · 19/04/2007 11:23

Thanks for all the labour vibes and I really, really really need them! Have just had my 2nd sweep and things are looking favourable but I also now have a deadline of Saturday 9am for being induced - so less than 48 hours.

They would let me go to Monday (41+6) but are fully booked up for Monday and Sunday so have booked Saturday which is too early in my opinion. It would mean no homebirth or water birth so I am determined not to let this happen.

Can't believe I have got to this stage where I have to face being induced - all complicated by previous c-section. Like you Isabellymoi I am fine, as is the baby and I am certainly physically not in a place where I am desperate to have this baby - mentally a little more though. So I am happy to let it go on until it is ready.

Anyway at the end of the day they can't force me into anything, so I might go off and do some more research about my options. The Midwife - was definitely giving me mixed vibes - telling me the official version of what was planned and then telling me to come to the unit on Saturday morning to pick up my notes (he wouldn't give them to me today so I have to go in) so we could have another 'discussion' to see what other options are available - unofficially he was telling me that I can go a bit longer. My head is all a muddled now! Luckily I have a very supportive Doula who will be a great help.

OK hello to everyone else. I am glad that you managed to get to your friend's funeral lesleyr and that you found it comforting. Isabellymoi - my bump is only 39, I just don't grow that big in pregnancy - I'm small and just have no room! Maveta - I feel for you with all the 'false' signs of labour - especially with your first - but no jumping the queue please! Glad to hear that you are feeling better Nuttygirl and enjoying your little one. Hope you have a nice time at the farm SOSPL and CD - take it easy with your little ones

maveta · 19/04/2007 11:23

Hi Girl! Hi Nutty and Runny - glad you are both doing okay and settling into life with your new babies. We are all dying of over here on this thread.. reading signs and twinges like deranged Gypsy Roses

Ewwwww ewwwww EEEEEWWWW at talk of nits - stopitstopitstopit!!!

So quiet on here these days with half of us off being busy new mummies and the rest either bouncing on birth balls, having induction sex or stimulating nipples.

Water still not back on so I am still stewing in my own smelliness waiting to have a shower... was SURE the water being off meant I would go into labour today ( a la EllieK!)

maveta · 19/04/2007 11:29

Oh Bugmum and Zazas - hope things get moving on their own for you both now.. I am impatient but more than aware that at only 39+1 I don´t have any real right to be.. am happy to redirect any labour vibes coming my way on to you guys instead!!

TBH I´m just bored more than anything else. Need to try and make a big list of things to do to keep me busy next week and keep my mind off it. Thing is, I can´t find anything to do... cleaning is fast losing its appeal, I´m dragging summer stuff down from the attic this morning to sort and hang up/ wash/ whatever but TBH there´s really not much else to be done...

All of my friends are working and I´m pretty housebound what with not being able to use the car so can´t just go for a pootle around the shops. What are you all doing to keep busy?? (I guess this really is only aimed at first timers as we all know you lots with kids are kept plenty busy!)

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:30

zazas - Isn't it odd, how different health authorities have different rules? My previous C-section means that (other than breaking my waters, which they will do if necessary), they will under no circs induce. But then my hospital is one of the most famous maternity hospitals in the country, always taking the high risk stuff for miles around, so even more routine things are treated with high intervention (ie surgery) way before they might be in other areas, iyswim. That's why, when people say that I'm worrying unnecessarily about how real the possibility is of another section, I know the concern is actually very real. I don't know of ANYONE round here who has gone successfully for a VBAC . My chances ought to be good, because of the reasons for the previous section, but I'm not sure that will count in the end

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:32

maveta - did you see my post of yesterday, confessing to having ordered lots of different cloth nappies? Tis all the fault of you and your kind!!!!!!!!

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2007 11:33

Glad things are looking favourable zazas honey - > to you .... It is very early to induced imho - I am soooo glad you have a supportive Doula who can help you through this - Stand your ground - If all is ok with you and bubs, then there's no reason why you can't go up to 3 weeks over and still have your natural Homebirth - Don't let the buggers get you down!!! Go zazas!!

Hi maveta!! How are you doing today honey??

maveta · 19/04/2007 11:33

Bugmum - LOL, I did! Selling nappies to bored heavily pregnant women is like shooting fish in a barrel! Now I just need to actually sell them and I´ll be on to a gold mine! What did you buy btw?

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2007 11:35

Hello Bugmum!! Cloth nappying ROCKS!!

maveta · 19/04/2007 11:35

Hey DippyDip! Doing fine today, boredom is lapping at the edges but so far managing to keep it at bay... how about you? What are your plans for the day?

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:37

maveta - Bamboozle rainbows, Sandys, Bumble poppers, Swaddlebees (of course!) and some organic brand I'd never heard of. Plus wraps, liners etc etc. And I got newborn & toddler sizes, for DS and the new baby The nice woman at Nappy Lady helped me initially...then I lost the plot

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2007 11:37

I'm ok - lots of pain in my abdomen though - think going down the slide to rescue DD2 was probably a bit much yesterday!!

Ahem.

DD2 sleeping atm and DD1 out a Toddlers with G'ma. Give them lunch and then take them to nursery for 1pm, come home, doing some much-needed housework and then relax a little .... hopefully!!

How about you??

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/04/2007 11:38

Maveta, I remember first time round being bored to death. I think I just read loads of chick lit, watched TV, spent time with my parents and napped a lot.

Hope your water comes back on soon - nothing worse than no water imo.

Right off to pick up B and then to the farm!

Look forward to all the baby news when I am back later on!!! No pressure anyone.

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:38

CD - every time I think of 'Bogmum', I giggle I am sooo excited about my cloth nappies coming! I freelance some of my work and got paid, y'see...

Katy44 · 19/04/2007 11:40

maveta - I know what you mean, I'm only 39+3 but already feel as though I've been waiting for ages. I've been catching up on all the cleaning I haven't done in the last 9 months (kitchen cupboards today), finished the ironing, addressed and stamped envelopes for us to send out birth notification cards, typed up birth plan, made list of email addresses.
Assuming I do get the kitchen done today (no guarantees if MN is exciting!) tomorrow I may pick individual specks of dust off the carpet. Or do really nasty jobs like cleaning the ashing machine fluff filter (actually should probably do that before I mop the kitchen!)
Anyway, the usual procrastinating and making lists!!

Katy44 · 19/04/2007 11:40

CD - do you know these definitely aren't anything more exciting?

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:41

First time round, I watched every single birth prog (and there were loads then) on Discovery Health. Most of them many more times than once

zazas · 19/04/2007 11:43

CD - the problem I have is that if I go over 14 days then my homebirth support stops. Can they do this????

Bugmum - actually they are just going to break my waters on Saturday and then maybe use gel but they won't fully induce me because of c-section. Like you, mine was a one off (had a normal birth with my first) so I really am low risk It is so frustrating as they also won't let me use the pool as I am considered high risk even though water is proven to help with a favourable VBAC outcome.

I need my homebirth in my pool with 48 hours!!!!!!!!!!! No presure on me then

maveta · 19/04/2007 11:43

SOSPL - Have fun at the farm!!

Bugmum - oooh sounds good - swaddlebees shaped or pocket or AIO?? Aren´t they cute? SO easy to get carried away. I only have about 16 shaped nappies in the end but felt I had to draw the line somewhere and see how I get on before I go buying a load more. But can´t wait to get back to buying them

CD - sounds like your day should go past quite nicely then.. I am starting to think slides play a big part in your personal induction technique.. am I right?? Not much planned for me, dh will be home for lunch in about 1.5 hours and he has 3 hours off so that uses up the middle of my afternoon then my Dad is back from a month away today so I´ll go and hang out with him and my mum for a bit in the early evening. With some summer clothes sorting chucked in there too somewhere. Life IS a rollercoaster, Ronan

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:46

Zazas - My MW told me that in some hospitals they have wireless monitors which are waterproofed, so you CAN use the birthpool while being continually monitored. So on your behalf that this does not apply everywhere!!! [NB apparently we have them, but have 'lent them out'...wtf????]

IsabellyMoi · 19/04/2007 11:46

Zazas - really feel for you and I think I understand some of what you are going through. I REALLY hope you go into labour naturally soon and/or can get your induction date moved back a bit. As you and others have said, if all is well with you and the little one, it seems logical to put off induction a little longer.

There is hope: I was booked for an induction for next Sunday night/Monday morning (would have been 41 + 5) but had a chat with my MW yesterday and today and now I only have to see the consultant again on Monday and I think they'll book the induction for 42 weeks or after.

All your signs sound good - keep on being positive!!! I got into such a tense and stressful state earlier this week (when they booked my induction) that it would have been near impossible for me to go into labour. So hard to be calm and peaceful when there is a deadline, isn't it?? Great that your doula is there for you.

LOVE and HUGS to you!

Bugmum · 19/04/2007 11:48

Maveta - shaped. Too cute for words!! And absolutely directly your fault . I did read that they don't suit big builds, but DS is really slim-waisted (like his daddy), and I imagine the new baby is likely to be so too, so I could justify a little sample. I'll be buying more once I know what works best for us, but I wanted to get enough now to commit me to the project, iyswim
