I thought I’d start this thread now as I can’t see one yet! I got my bfp this weekend on a digital and estimate my due date to be 1st of July, but I have long cycles so I’m anticipating it changing at a dating scan. Anyone else with me for end of June or beginning of July 2018?

I know this is completely ridiculous and irrational but I keep getting worried about falling asleep on my stomach I don't know what I think will happen if I do but every time I wake up and I'm laying on my stomach I start to over think things, hopefully after the first scan our anxiety can turn down a few notches

Lilychouchou · 31/10/2017 07:58

Thanks so much Kate and lgh, congratulations to you too! I will definitely update after the scan if I get that far Confused

cake, I think it's absolutely fine to sleep on your stomach, the baby is so tiny and well protected. However I'm worrying about pushing too hard when I poo Blush so I totally get the irrational fear!!

lgh05 · 31/10/2017 07:59

@ijustwantcake seriously sleep on your stomach all you can in a month or so it will so uncomfortable and all as you will want to do is sleep on your front! Then it turns to cuddling pillows to prop your bump up! Oh the things to come. Haha!

Peanutty86 · 31/10/2017 08:36

@Lilychouchou oh thank god I’m not the only one worrying about pushing out poo... don’t think anything can happen though can it?

Twickerhun · 31/10/2017 08:37

Lily I had an embryo transfer and worriedso much after they put the embryo in that I would somehow poo it out. I didn't go to the loo for nearly a day Blush

Twickerhun · 31/10/2017 08:37

Peanuts - no it can't happen :)

Enwi · 31/10/2017 08:38

Haha lily me too!
6 weeks today. Still no sign of morning sickness but got an upset stomach (constipation, diarrhoea and back again for the past week), constantly needing to wee especially in the night, struggling to sleep, very tired and not fancying much in the way of healthy nutritious food Cake

KateB2016 · 31/10/2017 09:43

Morning (day) sickness and extreme tiredness have kicked in today for me :( anyone got any tips for getting through each working day when colleagues won't know about the pregnancy for another 7 weeks?!? :(

Lilychouchou · 31/10/2017 10:20

Haha you definitely can't poo the baby out but it doesn't stop the fear Blush Twickerhun that is hilarious but I can understand how stressful it was!

kate, no tips but hope you're okay. If it's any consolation I'm desperate for morning sickness - send some this way!!

dietcoke2020 · 31/10/2017 10:31

I always sleep on my stomach usually but I am worried about that too - although saying that, I am not able to lay on my front as my boobs hurt too much! I am now waiting for the midwives to contact me to make my first appointment and I am worrying that I may drop out of the system if someone doesn't pass on the right paperwork!

kate no tips here either I'm afraid - just staying positive Smile

Bluebirdsky · 31/10/2017 10:39

@Kate I know some people who find the sea bands that you wear on your wrists quite helpful and often eating regularly seems to help (carb based food seems to be good) other than that I don't know I am afraid.

I had some left sided pain last night, really low down. It was quite uncomfortable for a while but it is gone now. Hoping that everything is ok.

Peanutty86 · 31/10/2017 10:40

@dietcoke2020 same here. Tuesday is the midwife day at my surgery and I’m anxiously waiting for a call....

Peanutty86 · 31/10/2017 10:42

Is anyone here considering a harmony (NIPT) test? I think we will go for it, but would be interested to see what people’s thoughts are on this.

KateB2016 · 31/10/2017 11:09

Thanks for your response ladies :) I think the eating often will assist! Or at least is an excuse to eat more :D

@Peanutty86, I've never heard of that! I'm so clueless about everything haha x

Twickerhun · 31/10/2017 11:29

We won't have any of the extra tests like harmony or nipt or anything. We also won't have the Down's syndrome and other tests as we feel very strongly that if our baby had a problem we wouldn't abort it (and don't want pressure to abort) and would just love and hold the child for as long as possible regardless. My sister has just had the tests (all of them) as she also wouldn't abort but wanted to be prepared. They are such personal, emotional decisions even around if you have the tests or not - it's hard even if you have strong convictions as we do.

For morning sickness?- I just eat. And eat.

Peanutty86 · 31/10/2017 12:12

@Twickerhun I do believe there is a lot of judging and it’s no one’s business but the parents. Either way. I’m of course not judging anyone, just interested in what people think about tests like this.

Twickerhun · 31/10/2017 12:39

Peanutty I understand. We've taken what seems to be now quite an unusual decision not to test that I thought I'd put it out there as to why. Friends and family have all had the tests, including NIPT, it does seem to be the norm round here now

AnythingNotEverything · 31/10/2017 12:58

Isn’t it about £400?! I think it depends on what risk we are given at the 12 week scan.

To be totally honest, I’ve always said I’d just want to know so we could be prepared, have help immediately after birth etc, but with 3 other children to consider I’m not sure it’s that simple this time around. I hope we don’t have to think about it to be honest, which I know is cowardly. I’m 36 and a little overweight so my risk level is already elevated.

Lilychouchou · 31/10/2017 13:43

Feeling worried Sad - just went to the toilet and had a tiny bit of dark brown stringy discharge when I wiped...

AnythingNotEverything · 31/10/2017 13:51

Brown = old blood. Try not to worry!

ijustwantcake · 31/10/2017 14:50

I've had the same but been told that at 3/4 weeks it's completely normal so it's really nothing to worry about (easier said than done I know)

Lilychouchou · 31/10/2017 15:01

Thanks ladies. This is my first pregnancy but my sisters have had several MCs and had spotting both with those and with their successful pregnancies, so I know it's not necessarily a terrible sign. Time is going so slowly!

Hulaballoo · 31/10/2017 15:06

It sounds like old blood, possibly from implantation that hasn't come out yet... Keeping things crossed for you, I'm sure it's fine. Xxx

I haven't booked in with mw yet...Am I being totally irrational not wanting to book in yet for fear of MC? I phoned and booked appt at 4/5 weeks last time, saw me at 6w and baby had died at 6w..Mmc at 11w... Now I'm paranoid whether I'm tempting fate of I make the phonecall....😳

Hulaballoo · 31/10/2017 15:06

If*

CherryVicky29 · 31/10/2017 16:39
