I thought I’d start this thread now as I can’t see one yet! I got my bfp this weekend on a digital and estimate my due date to be 1st of July, but I have long cycles so I’m anticipating it changing at a dating scan. Anyone else with me for end of June or beginning of July 2018?

I've been feeling a little sick the last week, which I did not have with my first and I had tinglling nipples last week. I too have been cramping for the last 2 weeks, again had not had this with dc1.

How's everything going for everyone else?

Enwi · 22/10/2017 16:37

I’ve just been for a really long swim so I’m feeling goodGrin
I’m so determined not to put on too much weight this pregnancy. I already have a bit to lose so I’m hoping to not gain anything in the first 12 weeks atleast. @noimagination80 gosh quite early for morning sickness, I’m hoping it stays away as long as possible as I’m self employed and can’t take any time offConfused

Twickerhun · 22/10/2017 16:41

Kate you asked about doctors appointments. Where I live (southern health area) you don't see anyone till your first midwife appointment at about 9 weeks. No doctors appointments.

noimagination80 · 22/10/2017 17:57

I know right Enwi, I'm just hoping everything is OK in there and the ick feeling buggers of sharpish.

AnythingNotEverything · 23/10/2017 08:17

Morning ladies! May I join n you? I’m on the June group but due around 29/6 and my last two were late so will straddle the groups I think.

This will be DC4. Currently fine just tired. Had a few dizzy spells. Currently struggling to drag myself out of bed after deciding to WFH, but we had a really really busy weekend and I’m shattered today.

Suppose I ought to make an appointment for booking in. Doesn’t feel real yet, although we told my ILs yesterday as they’d pretty much guessed already!

Look forward to getting to know you all Smile

Hi Anything congratulations, lovely to have you here. Kate and Enwi I am waiting for a midwife booking appointment in the post for 10-12 weeks, in my last pregnancy at a different practice it was at 7/8 weeks. Feels like a long wait. It’s great your area gives you an early appointment, what did you discuss during it? We’ve found somewhere that does early scans for £50 so we will be having one at 8 weeks, only 4 weeks to go!! So lovely to have some July buddies here 😊! My Nov ‘16 group was a wonderful support system during my last pregnancy and we still talk everyday now on a Facebook group, it’s great for advice and comfort. Glad to have you all here!

Twickerhun 9 weeks is so long to wait! I don't think much will said at Drs appt but it'll get the ball rolling.

I was looking at the cheap private scans too HarryPotter - one on Groupon for £24 haha. Would be worth it not to wait! I had a mmc in the past so am quite anxious but am still very excited and optimistic! :)

KateB2016 · 23/10/2017 13:35

Just rang Drs to make an appointment and they said no appt required just fill in a form for the midwife and she'll be in touch! So prob will be the 8 week appt before we see anyone as well

Enwi · 23/10/2017 14:25

Just got back from seeing the midwife. She was lovely! I am a low risk pregnancy, but because I don’t know exactly when my last period was as my September period was all over the place she has booked me in for my dating scan in 2-3 weeks! I think I will be 7-8 weeks, but could possibly be 12-13 weeks so better safe than sorry she said. Either I’m further along than I thought... or I get two scans Grin
So glad I don’t have a really long time to wait as I am SO anxious at the moment.

cantthinkattheminute · 23/10/2017 16:44

Joining as I just got a bfp this morning. Have a 2.5year old daughter and this will be my second!

KateB2016 · 23/10/2017 17:36

That's good news Enwi!

Does anyone else panic about every single twinge and pain? I bent over my colleagues computer for about 5 minutes at work today and when I got up I had the sharpest shooting pain in the right side of my abnomen which lasted all of about 2 seconds and then went away but now I keep feeling worried I've caused damage! I know I'm being irrational but I think I'll be like this for the next 8 weeks haha God help my husband x

Willieowinsbury · 23/10/2017 18:56

Hey everyone! Kate I know exactly what you mean - I thought it was all over today when I started cramping hard at work, but fingers crossed no disaster yet. As it's my first I have nothing to compare it to and no idea if this is normal. Can I ask the seasoned pros a basic question - if you self refer to a hospital, is that for everything, midwives and scans and all? Or is the midwife part via the gp and the scans are via the hospital? I am so nervous!

noimagination80 · 23/10/2017 20:52

Hi Willieowinsbury, it will be for all of it so long as the hospital has a midwife arm. You will receive a booking date from the hospital about a week or so after referral to go into see the midwives, at this appointment you should be able to make your first scan appointment.
As it's your 1st you will get 2, some times 3 depending on the hospital.

Hope that's helpful?

I've just self referred after popping into my GP this evening.

Willieowinsbury · 23/10/2017 21:26

Thank you! Very helpful 🙂

Winterfellismyhome · 24/10/2017 16:28

Hi all, got BFP today. 1st month ttc. Honestly a bit anxious about it all. I also need to register with the GP as ive moved recently Smile

Bluebirdsky · 24/10/2017 17:26

Hi Everyone,

Would love to join your thread; I had a positive test today and think my EDD will be around the 10th July. It's my first pregnancy and feeling delighted and terrified in equal measure.

It was our first month of trying so I thought I had ages to read up. Especially as I am 36 and DH is 40! Smile

HarryPotterandtheSAHM · 24/10/2017 19:47

Hi everyone congratulations on your bfps! How are you all feeling?! Fatigue has hit hard today I just want to crash out and sleep all night but I’m sure DS1 will have other plans

rhubarb86 · 24/10/2017 23:39

Hello all. I have had 2x faintly positive tests and a late period; from my calculations I think I'm due 28th June ish. We were using natural family planning and appear to have gotten pregnant Hmm Still in shock but happy. Mind racing thinking about finances, mat pay. Started folic acid and vit d today. Please may I join?

cantthinkattheminute · 25/10/2017 06:51

Fatigue has hit hard here too. Nearly fell asleep on the sofa at 7 last night and hit snooze 4 times this morning. Apart from that all good so far 😀

Willieowinsbury · 25/10/2017 08:25

Hi to all the new people! I'm starting to feel it's more real now as I took one of those expensive tests this morning that tells you how many weeks you are, and it put me at 4-5 which is bang on where I thought. Going to self-refer today and look into early scans in a couple of weeks! Hope you are all feeling good.

Bluebirdsky · 25/10/2017 10:03

Morning everyone,
I am feeling a bit rough as I am getting awful migraines and paracetamol just isn't cutting it. I am thinking of going to see my GP early for this reason. I hope everyone else is doing ok.
I am trying to be cautious and not get too carried away as it's so early and I know anything could happen but it's really hard as I am so happy and excited!

AnythingNotEverything · 25/10/2017 11:24

Morning!

I think I’m starting to feel tired but it might just be the caffeine withdrawal! Definitely had a few nausea wobbles this morning. I don’t tend to suffer too badly so hope I’ll be the same this time ...

Welcome to all the newbies, especially you first timers. Don’t be scared - no such thing as a stupid question Smile

Winterfellismyhome · 25/10/2017 12:04

Afternoon all,

Congratulations @winterfellismyhome! Flowers

Enwi · 25/10/2017 13:43

That’s great winter! I’m desperate to do another clear blue one as the last one was at 4 weeks so it said 1-2. I’m trying to wait until 6 weeks so I can see 3+Grin
Only 5 more days!
