I thought I’d start this thread now as I can’t see one yet! I got my bfp this weekend on a digital and estimate my due date to be 1st of July, but I have long cycles so I’m anticipating it changing at a dating scan. Anyone else with me for end of June or beginning of July 2018?

@heregoeseverything I feel like I look pregnant too especially in the evenings. But it's really just the bloat at this stage I think, and it's likely to go down before the proper bump appears.Wink

DirtyThirties · 14/12/2017 22:04

Heregoes, yes!! I look ridiculous, also baby number one and apparently only just over 8 weeks but there is a definite bump. My sister, who is a similar shape to me, spotted it immediately and I was 6 weeks at the time! I think the womb stretches a lot at first, which is really obvious if you are small, but then I guess we won't grow at all for a few months until the baby is bigger, that's what I'm hoping! All my work clothes are quite tight fitted and it really shows, I won't care once I've told them, but until then it's baggy cardigans!

Daphne33 · 14/12/2017 23:14

@karategirl, hope u got back to ur own home and are keeping off that foot so it heals.

I did my private scan this evening with my husband at Ultra Sound Direct Babybond (they are located in some Mothercare stores). As it's my first pregnancy, it's really reassuring and quite amazing to see wow, I can really tell there's a baby there. We were both amazed to see the rapid heartbeat (141bpm) and the form of the baby. The sonographer was lovely, very detailed in telling us what was every thing, we did not feel rushed at all (we seemed to be the second last appt for the day and anyway we were also early so they started us early).
Turns out based on head to bum measurement of the baby, I am 8w+2, not 7. Still a late July baby it seems! So will hang about here for the duration Wink

Ah, feeling more assured now that Ive seen this and have the scans to share w my family back home in time for Christmas.

Stay positive and happy, everyone!

Daphne33 · 14/12/2017 23:21

Oh! I did not realise there were new msgs on here.

@Heregoeseverything @Littlebirdblues @DirtyThirties
I'm also told and I read online that it's bloat but I do feel rounder around the waist even though I am not eating a whole lot more than usual. My husband is the one really who's noticed that he feels I've become curvier even though I tell him it can't be possible technically at where I am.
Oh well! As long as we all stay healthy!:)

karategirl · 15/12/2017 07:55

Thanks everyone for your sympathy for the clumsy one Xmas Grin My husband took me to minor injuries last night, and I'm on strict instructions to use crutches and not to weight bear. They also suggested I should go back for an xray this morning (no facilities at night) but I don't think I'll bother. I'm pretty confident it's a nasty sprain rather than anything being broken, and I'd rather not have an unnecessary xray when pregnant. Working from home today with my foot up! The main issue is the lack of painkillers...

@Heregoeseverything I definitely feel bigger, but I reckon I'm probably more conscious than anyone else is. I'm definitely bloated, and I've come to realise that my normal posture involves holding my stomach in, which I just don't have the energy or inclination to do when feeling constantly nauseous, so I daresay the majority of it is just my normal belly, which I usually manage to hide!

@Daphne33 Glad your scan went well, and it must be great to have some more clarity on dates.

Alexandra87 · 15/12/2017 09:35

Told my dc the news last night. The eldest is quite interested he gave me a hug and asked questions about when it was due and where it would sleep (good question 🤣)
Middle child was not at all interested he just asked if there were anymore Yorkshire puddings 😆 . I did tell him the baby is the size of a raspberry and he asked this morning if it was still the size of a raspberry.
Youngest didn't really understand I don't think although he now says mammys tummy if you ask him where the baby is 😍

Heregoeseverything · 15/12/2017 09:41

@Alexandra87 Sweet!

@Daphne33 So glad you had a good scan, I loved having mine, makes it all real!

Re my belly, I gather I can't have a "bump" as such but "waist-thickening" can start in the first trimester and that process is definitely underway!

Bluebirdsky · 15/12/2017 13:30

I have hardly eaten for the last 4-5 weeks due to bad sickness yet my jeans are still tight so there is definitely something going on!!

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 15/12/2017 17:19

Alex thats really cute. My 2 do not really get the concept so will br a surprise when baby appears to them.

Dalphine im so glad the scan went well and you feel a bit better for it.

Karate i hope your ankle is feeling better today.

LittleBirdBlues · 15/12/2017 19:39

@alexandra87 that's lovely! I can't wait to tell the kids soon. I think my almost 4yo ds will probably get it, 2yo DD less so Wink

I had my booking in appointment Toda and they've placed me under consultant led care for now. This was really unexpected so I'm a little unnerved by it. I'm sure it'll all be fine though. It was because I mentioned shortness if breath, dizziness and fainting (on the tube). I have mild asthma so they're being cautious I guess.

Alexandra87 · 16/12/2017 08:49

@LittleBirdBlues I'm sure it's just a precaution. Better safe than sorry.

DirtyThirties · 16/12/2017 09:05

LittleBird I agree it's probably just a precaution and can only be a good thing if you will be getting more regular care and check-ups. Try not to let it worry you

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 16/12/2017 13:53

Little birds i was under consultant care for dd as id had preeclampsia with ds. It meants we had extra appointments and scans.

I will be under consultant care again as dds waters broke at 28 weeks luckily we managed to get her to stay until 36 weeks with lots of monitoring when she came via c section.

Im hoping for a straight forward pregnancy this time. My booking in is on monday at 9 weeks 4 days.

LittleBirdBlues · 16/12/2017 18:48

Thanks all for the reassurance! I'm not really worried because it's not about something being "off" with the baby but my own health. I know I get quite poorly in the first 20 weeks and I think I just chanced upon a very cautious (and very lovely) midwife.

@skychasemarchal fingers crossed this pregnancy will be nice and relaxed for you! Waters breaking at 28 weeks sounds ery stressful but glad it all turned out well in the end!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 17/12/2017 04:09

Littleblue I'm classed as high risk this time and under consultant from 20 weeks because i developed p.e at the end of my pregnancy with dd. I find it reassuring that they are going to keep a closer eye on me and its because of my own health and not the babies xx

karategirl · 17/12/2017 07:34

@alexandra87 that's so sweet :)

@Littlebirdblues definitely sounds like a good plan for them to keep an eye on you if you've been light headed. Hopefully it's just the pesky first trimester, and you'll be feeling much better soon!

@Skye and @Blueespottytiger fingers crossed for a less stressful pregnancy for you both this time around

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 17/12/2017 17:59

How is your ankle now karate.

Heregoeseverything · 17/12/2017 18:36

I've noticed a bit of a switch in my symptoms of late - now have dull aches in my abdomen (stretching pains apparently), heartburn and nosebleeds (had one in front of my MIL... we haven't told her I'm pregnant, hope she didn't twig...argh!). Still fat!

karategirl · 17/12/2017 19:48

Thanks for asking @Skyechasemarsalontheway, it's still pretty swollen but less painful than it was. It hasn't bruised as much as I thought, but does have that sort of zombie-grey pallor, which is particularly attractive! I'm on crutches so my lovely husband's driving me to work tomorrow so I don't have to get the train. Hopefully it'll be a bit more normal by Christmas!

@Heregoeseverything I had a small nosebleed the other day too - never had one before in my life!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/12/2017 16:50

heregoes I've had two nose bleeds aswell! Xx

hellybellyjellybean · 18/12/2017 20:06

Hey. Jumping on here if that's okay. I'm 9+4, trying hard to hide it at the mo with too many Xmas parties and such! Feeling absolutely shattered, can't wait for the end of this week and 2 weeks off! I have had really itchy legs for the past 2 days, not sure if it's something else or has anyone else had this? Glad to have people to share this time with!

Alexandra87 · 18/12/2017 20:37

Hey @hellybellyjellybean welcome.
Ive told everyone now I never wait until 12 weeks.

hellybellyjellybean · 18/12/2017 22:28

I've told really close family, best friend and a couple of ppl at work due to appointments and being off sick

Alexandra87 · 19/12/2017 10:23

Finally have my booking appointment arranged for the 27/12.
Midwife is my eldest ds best friends grandma. It's weird having a conversation with her in the school yard knowing she's had her hand up my bits 😂😂

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 19/12/2017 12:33

My booking appointment was changed from monday this week to thursday so i think my 12 week scan will be delayed as i will be 10 weeks on thursday.
Weve had a scan at epu so not quite fussed.
My mumsnet fb group for dd knows im expecting as does my sister and mum. Weve not told dhs family or my df yet as hes flying back from austrialia today so will tell him once his jetlag wears off. This will be grandchild 9 and hes not even 48 yet.
