Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fatcatkin · 10/04/2007 10:00

Good Morning!! I can't believe I missed all the chatting last night! I came on for a while but had to go and lie down cos I'd taken the dog out for a walk and ended up feeling as though I was going to split in half through my fanana! Pain is bit better this morning so i'm sitting on my gym ball. (DH is a bit cross that i've chucked the computer chair!)

Anyway, I feel the need to contribute to last night's discussion so here goes....

I watched relocation too and still think Phil is sex on legs. And I like his voice!!

The DH/DP nesting thing must be quite common cos mine was in garden again at 8am this morning. We're getting decking put in so I can sit out with the baby during the summer!

Maternity Bras: I also own 2. One in black and one in white. These are the 4th set of bras I've had since becoming pregnant so I refuse to shell out on any more until I grow out of these. (which actually looks like it could be soon!)

I'm also debating nursery themes at the minute. I'd decided that I wasn't going to have a theme as such and would just have everything blue and cream with a pretty Cath Kidston Blind in blue Star fabric. But then I had a dalliance with Millie and Boris. And Linear Zoo. And Teddy's Wash Day from Mothercare. And now I have discovered the Nostalgia range at Mamas and Papas. OOOH, what to do??

fatcatkin · 10/04/2007 10:20

And forgot to say, there's a 13 yr age gap between me and DH. He's 41.

bumperlicious · 10/04/2007 10:26

Morning! I feel pretty good today as DH wasn't here last night so I slept through till 10am!

Sorry to hear about your fanjo catkin! (I refuse to call you fatcatkin!) Hope you feel better soon.

As for nurseries, I'm still in the "it's not a nursery it's the spare room" frame of mind, and "it's pale green and staying that way the baby won't care"! I don't want and disney or cute animals etc. Gosh I'm a mean mummy aren't I?!

Ohh, just got a parcel through the post. It's this just got it off ebay, but without the toiletries for about 6 quid. Gonna give it a try later.

Hope you all have exciting days anyway. I'm dertermined not to spend ALL day on here so if you see me too much tell me to bog off and get some stuff done!

foxybrown · 10/04/2007 10:27

Morning y'all!

Aw, missed out on last nights chat - thought I'd better have the night off. Good to hear you are all ok.

Just caught up on your chatting from last night (phew!) and time to go and enjoy activities at the local museum followed by pizza hut then the gym. I'll be back!

My thoughts are also turning to decorating! How funny. Am going to paint the girls' room white. That's not very imaginative is it??!!

LOLove

foxybrown · 10/04/2007 10:28

'fanana' love it!!!

Oh, derlor, GOT MY CHOCS!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/04/2007 10:42

Cradle-snatcher here. My DH 5 years younger than me.

BadZelda · 10/04/2007 10:46

Hello everyone - you have been busy! I have been enjoying what's felt like a loooooong weekend off - can't remember the last time I didn't do ANY work for 4 days: it's been lovely. Didn't eat TOO much chocolate - just a packet of the chocolate coverered summer fruits from M & S...mmmmmmm. Took parentals out for lunch on sunday, which felt like rather a waste of money as mother complained constantly about not being able to smoke in the restaurant and father complained about poor quality of food and wine (it was yummy, and set me back 100 quid - so they could have been a bit less ungracious!) Then spent yesterday afternoon having tea with my best friend's parents who are so lovely...reminded me of being a teenager when I used to wish wish wish I could swap parents with her! Oh well. Apart from that, just lots of pottering in the garden, planting clematis, sweet pea and tomatoes...really can't wait till I stop work and get to spend days on end with my little ones.

R.e. Maternity clothes - don't throw them away. Send some size 10's my way and I'll pay for the postage. I have managed to buy I pair of trousers and 2 tops so far because I HATE shopping, and there's only Mothercare in Brixton which only seems to cater for size 14 and up... I did manage to find a bargain pair of DP jeans for a fiver on Saturday, but unfortunately they're too big, so if anyone wants some size 12s...also bought a working TENS machine from the same shop for a fiver (it's a children's charity shop off Northcote road - highly recommended as they have lots of lovely clothes toys and books, and it's really cheap - plus you'll be helping the environment by recycling!)

Sorry for long post...but am having to find some way to amuse myself until 2pm meeting due to these eedjits I'm working for wanting to do everything 'by committee'.

Oh and my DH is five years older than me. Met him through a friend and asked him to marry me almost immediately (literally!). He was a little taken aback, but agreed, and we haven't looked back since.

This morning we decided to move to the outer hebrides and have six children. Actually that's only semi-silly. Funny how all the way through first pregnancy I hated being preggers and swore I'd only ever have one child. This time round even though conception was an accident, I'm loving the thought that I'm making a little baby, and want loads more. What has happened to me? Tell me it's pregnancy hormones ladies?

derlor · 10/04/2007 12:38

G'day - just pretending i'm in Australia to cheer me up!!!!
Foxy, chocs - we'll chat about that later....
Catkin - poor you i keep getting eye watering pain shooting up my fanjana like a hot razor blade not nice - only lasts a few seconds at at time but i sympathise with any fanjnana pain - oouch!!
Zelda - i too have crappy parents who, if i'm honest, i'd still love to swap with many of my friends' - whole other story me thinks!! also my friends did that up sticks and move thing - previous life was in London - him - inhouse GP for big city bank, her- pharmacist working on cure for AIDS
NOW - living in isle of Skye - him - island GP, her- full time mum to 2 dd's who spends her days on beach or knitting and baking with the girls. They have never been happier.
Tallula - DH is 5 years younger huh - i'm hoping you are not 21!!!!

Seansgirl · 10/04/2007 12:42

Don't know BZ probably the hormones, have to say I hate being prg, and am stopping at two. When we first got married we wanted 3-4 and funnily enough move to the middle of no where somewhere in Scotland and have lots of land and a smokery to smoke fish, blah, blah......of course I'd look like Felicity Kendall in the good life (in my dreams)!

Catkin - that fanjo thing sounds very uncomfortable, [cringe] glad its not so bad today!

Foxy! Thought you'd fallen out with us or dropped off the face of the earth - glad you're back. don't suppose well see much of you later if you've got your chocs today!

Back later xx

Seansgirl · 10/04/2007 12:45

G'day Derlor! Got any tinnies? (Sorry that was a crap attempt at aussie style conversation to make you feel like you were there!)

your mates Don't tell me she is slim, has a beautiful complexion and owns an aga!

derlor · 10/04/2007 12:51

actually she is everything we all aspire to be - all those things and Slovacian, can make a stunning dress in about an hour from old rags, speaks 6 languages - fluently, probably the most beautiful person i know. bit scatty though (spot me clutching at straws)
fuck it i'm off back to Australia!!!!

Seansgirl · 10/04/2007 13:00

Hope you're going to wait to have the LO first Derlor, sure you don't want to go into labour on the plane! Or would that mean you'd get free flights for life

Seansgirl · 10/04/2007 13:01

hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:07

hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:16

Has anyone bought any half price easter eggs? I used to love going out after easter and buying cheap eggs, but I went to town earlier and nowhere had any left ! I wanted some of those yummy organic chocolate animals from M&S and there wasn't any!

derlor · 10/04/2007 13:17

Thats because i have bought them ALL!!!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:18

You witch!

derlor · 10/04/2007 13:20

OP posts:
derlor · 10/04/2007 13:24

well i'm off just now to watch my dh and his mate put up a shed - i'll be the fat one in the corner sitting on my comfy ass with my feet up, sipping tea and eating M&S organic chocolate animals "supervising" the children!!!
don't spent too much money Holly.

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:31

Have fun! Hope the chocolate animals make you sick!!!

foxybrown · 10/04/2007 13:35

I am at the gym.

hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:37

At the gym and on mn! How novel! How does that work?

foxybrown · 10/04/2007 13:38

went to the local museum for childrens activities, then pizza hut for lunch for the kiddies. But I picked at far too much garlic bread to have to wait for that to go down before I exercise. Lucky they have the cafe with internet access. Children are in the creche.

thank God you are here Holly, or I'd've been compelled to do 10 mins on the bike instead!

hollyandalice · 10/04/2007 13:41

I thought you'd be in the cafe! Dd is having her nap and I can't stop shopping! I have just been to town and I get home and start looking on vertbaudet and ebay! I think I have a problem!
