Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxybrown · 17/04/2007 15:28

sorry, that was rather long!

am at the gym and had to stop exercising because the pressure down there got too much and was hurting a lot. didn't feel so good and have to walk home with kids.

was also scared I'd fart

going home to cook a nutriciously balanced cottage pie for children and partner. he is going out tonight, so better get some profiteroles on way home.

I'll be back later!

marylou23 · 17/04/2007 15:40

Gym? Foxy, you put me to shame.

Annobal, sounds like a nightmare. We have squirrels in our loft (had, rather. Squirrel man came round yesterday...) and that was bad enough!

Keep getting tummy aches today - think it's probably growing pains. Have very active LO disco dancing on all my vital organs, so I suppose that could have something to do with it. Are your LOs all moving loads? Mine changes position completely about three times a day - one minute he's curled up on the right, then he's traverse, then upright in the middle. One week he's head down, the next he's head up. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm very happy he's active - I just hope he calms down in time for the birth!

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/04/2007 15:40

Derlor Don't think you came across arsey at all. Good to know you're there for us first timers who don't have a clue - like me . I was worrying about all this exclusive bf for 6 months - and the baby's not even here yet!

marylou23 · 17/04/2007 15:52

Yes, the bad news Derlor is that we're now going to be plaguing you with all our questions! frankly I'm impressed that people are even thinking about weaning. I guess I'm a one step at a time sort of gal - first, deliver baby. Then, attempt breast feeding. THen, try not to leave baby on the bus/tube/anywhere else by mistake...

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/04/2007 15:52

Poor you annobal. The thought of rodents freaks me out. Where in Oz are you moving to? My DH is from Adelaide. We lived there for 3 years before I got too homesick and came back to Scotland. Now he is the homesick one and desperately wants us to go back.

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/04/2007 15:56

Good strategy Marylou - gonna try that myself. Is ridiculous but I have even been wondering about potty training and yet haven't made a decision about which nappies to use. Get a grip girl

Seansgirl · 17/04/2007 16:19

Not arsey Derlor at all! It is a mine field after all!

Foxy - Another vote for the Annabe Karmel here too, I used it alot and still do. The cake made from with yoghurt is soooo yummy...! Just check amazon and I think Foxys must be Annabel Karmel's First Year Planner (is that right Foxy?) - its £11.21 on amazon. Mine is Annabel Karmel's New Complete Baby & Toddler Meal Planner - £7.99 on amazon. Would imagine pretty much the same.

Daisy LOL re grumpy/seven and half months prg am still fairly grumpy. DD is at home today and seems to want my constant attention which is driving me nuts! That and the mess she seems to make - everywhere!!

But compared to Annobel - now that would make me very very grumpy.......

Think have got my baby shower gift sorted think have gone over - but hey this is an important event right?

Marylou, sounds like your LO is very busy indeed - my LO (and this is just like DD was) is very unpredictable, has been very quiet most of today, will probably be very active when I'm trying to sleep I do worry sometimes and I find the MWs round here say "what ever is normal for your baby" I just don't know what is normal TBH as there is no pattern.

Off in a minute as DD is desperately trying to get my attention by making a mess in the spare room

derlor · 17/04/2007 16:23

PMSL Foxy at the fart comment
Marylou - my LO also VERY active i'm convinced that it is going to come out doing cartwheels!! actually feels like it is trying to dig itself out with a spoon at times - I'm 33+ weeks now so baby SHOULD be head down !ready set...... go! position - oh no not mine it's definately got distracted and is still circumnavigating my womb.... there may be trouble ahead with this one - About forgetting your baby ROFL
I used to work with a woman who did exactly that - left her baby in it's pram outside Woolworths and she got the bus home!!!!!! This was in the 1960's so probably everyone was too 'loved up!!' to notice

Daisybump · 17/04/2007 16:24

Not arsey, Derlor.....I'm just that you're a health visitor as I may have made some rather nasty comments about mine before (she was a bit rubbish tbh) Please don't take it personally.....

Foxy...don't overdo it, but (bowing to you in reverence) for having the energy and stamina....the walk back from DSs school (10 mins tops, but uphill) just about does for me . Don't know what I'll be like in another 8 weeks, LOL

Seansgirl · 17/04/2007 16:25

LOL Tallulah - potty training??? blimey, thats some ways off..... Don't worry it'll all be fine (she says wondering if she can remember the newborn holding technique for bathing - I will be ringing the bell every 5 mins and the nurses will be saying "wish that second timer in there would stop wasting our effing time she should know what shes doing by now!")

Daisybump · 17/04/2007 16:29

My mum left my big sis outside a shop when she was a baby and when she came out the pram had gone...she spent a frantic ten minutes looking all around the other shops and was about to head for the police station, when my gran came sauntering around the corner pushing the pram!!! she was passing and sis was crying so thought she'd help by taking her for a wee stroll whilst mum was busy....think relations between them were frosty for a while!!

derlor · 17/04/2007 16:33

I also a BIG fan of Annabel Karmel - i've got her book called "feeding your baby and toddler" FAB - even has weekly meal planners for when you start weaning right up to age 7 so your don't even have to think!! Essential for me!!

OP posts:
derlor · 17/04/2007 16:39

Daisy - don't worry can't remember reading your HV comments anyway!! i know HV's have a bad reputation why do you think it has taken me so long to admit it!!!
i just laugh (and cry) sometimes at the threads started SPECIFICALLY to slag off HV's and MW's so I don't even read them any more. I just hope none of my mum's are the ones on there slagging ME off!!!!!!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 17/04/2007 16:40

Hi everyone!
Home from work now and DH is away until Thursday - so might be a serious mnetter for the next 2 days!
Foxy - glad it's not just me with the farting thing! I am finding when I get a bit active at the mo - apart from my trousers falling down - I feel like I've had a bike pump up my arse and If I don't go and deflate myself - then I'll burst. Okay - that might be more info than anyone wanted!

derlor · 17/04/2007 16:41

'bike pump'

Daisybump · 17/04/2007 16:59

PMSL Dontknow....but I know what you mean

My farking internet connection is playing silly buggers this afternoon and its driving me potty......it keeps on coming and going, and usually goes just after I've typed a long post. So, its either pout up and shut up or hang on the phone for ages waiting to speak to someone on Virgin's helpline. bloody rubbish service, come back ntl, all is forgiven!!!

think we got on the subject of weaning as my DS and Holly's DD like curry.....but it's one of those very emotive subjects on here isn't it? I was reading a thread earlier regarding the inclusion of SMA follow on milk in Bounty packs.....which was a bit heated and opinionated to say the least.

sputnik · 17/04/2007 17:00

Never opened any of those weaning threads and don't think I ever will now! I gave DD fruit from about 4 1/2 - 5 months cos the paediatrician told me to as she never pooed (DD, not the paed), since found out that's actually normal for bf babies.

She was one of those not very interested in solids though and took ages to get into them, although she was always huge for her age so it didn't bother me. She was a right little piglet.

Million posts ago I know but I liked your celeb nappy holder Daisybump.

Seansgirl · 17/04/2007 17:00
Grin
Seansgirl · 17/04/2007 17:03

Daisy, I have had masses of problems with BT since we upgraded our internet it crashes all the time and just throws you off the net for no apparent reason grrrrr....

sputnik · 17/04/2007 17:05

LOL bike pump. Never tried it myself but I reckon that's pretty accurate

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 17/04/2007 17:36

Hey, I've just had a look at some of those BF threads, WTF? Okay I'm all for 'each to there own' 'horses for courses' 'what floats your boat' etc etc ect - but there are some right nob heads out there!
I saw this and though 'get a freekin life'

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 17/04/2007 17:38

okay - I'm feelin a bit ruffled today , I'm sorry.
And there was meant to be a 't' on the end of though - so I think I'll go and have a bag of wotsits and cill out a bit.

derlor · 17/04/2007 18:50
