mytwocents · 16/04/2007 13:09

Where's fantastic mrs fox gone??

sputnik · 16/04/2007 13:12

That sling looks really nice Bumper.

sputnik · 16/04/2007 13:18

She was around yesterday

Daisybump · 16/04/2007 13:34

I should stay away from JS....always spend twice as much in there as anywhere else, thank the good lord we don't have a Waitrose near us or I would be very broke indeed. Got lots of cleaning products so can get going on the cleaning with gusto....as well as some galaxy fruit and nut...why didn't I think of it before, its almost a balanced meal . Also bought some oatcakes, and have polished off six loaded with lots of butter and honey...and feel like I could eat the whole packet.

Like the look of that sling Bumper...I have a friend in Canada...maybe she could ship one over for me.

Off for a snooze now definately as my vison is starting to blur I'm so tired. Better set the alarm so that I don't sleep through the school pick-up!!!

sputnik · 16/04/2007 13:53

I am seriously loving those slings, they look like the Isabella Oliver of babywearing, but not that pricy compared to many. Also don't make you look like a Peruvian (which is fine if you're Peruvian of course, don't think any of us are).

Did you find some reviews of them Bumper?

Shall we contact their wholesale department on behalf of this thread?

mytwocents · 16/04/2007 14:01

Sputnik your cervix!!!!! I've just caught up with thread....So sorry for you, hope it shrinks back a little, are you at your mil flat?

sputnik · 16/04/2007 14:05

Yeah my blooming cervix. I'm at home today, off to MIL's for 3 days tomorrow.

mytwocents · 16/04/2007 14:15

I really hope you manage to relax there.... if it's a flat , not much fun for your dd hey?
I'm feeling very guilty about my MIL I've two as dp's dad remarried, anyway they are over from Italy and I was dreading it, telling my mum I found her such hard work but now she's here she's been SO sweet , helpful and kind, heard me moaning to dp that i have no summer clothes that fit ( nasty shock on saturday when tried on loose summery things i had assumed would still fit- sadly no - tight linen flares NOT a good look) and has give me £50 to buy some new things!! Feel humble, spent it this morning on lovely jojo mat clothes....

sputnik · 16/04/2007 14:22

I feel a bit ambiguous about my MIL too. There is a huge cultural gap between us I don't think we'll ever overcome, but she means well.
She would never ever give me 50 quid to spend on clothes though!

sputnik · 16/04/2007 14:23

Are your ILs Italian or expats like me? [nosy emoticon]

Daisybump · 16/04/2007 14:35

There's a huge cultural gap between me and my MIL as well....I'm Scottish and she's Yorkshire ....and nutty as a fruitcake, but hey ho, its a cross we all have to bear!!

No sleep for me...the phone has gone ding ding since lunchtime and baby is lying across me at the moment, so if I lie on my side I get kicked to buggery.

Got to go pick DS up in half an hour so no pint trying to sleep now.....I suppose surviving on 3and a half hours sleep is all good practice for whe the LO is born (ha bloody ha!)

Seansgirl · 16/04/2007 14:52

Hiya Girls,

Having been lurking a bit have felt like I might whinge/moan too much and have been very busy since Friday with DDs 4th Birthday.

Daisybump · 16/04/2007 15:01

Hi Seansgirl...don't worry about the moan, we've all been at it this last wee while

Glad the party was good, but 28 kids...you must be off your rocker...I can only imagine the mess after it was over, LOL

Seansgirl · 16/04/2007 15:27

Exactly Daisy .....thats why I had it a village hall and asked the family to be there

bumperlicious · 16/04/2007 15:38

Re: the slings. I found out about them on Thebabywearer.com but I think you have to register to read the forums (which I did) but this was one post:

I've died and gone to sling heaven!
Yes, it's true - I found the ultimate sling/pouch carrier and I don't think I'll ever use another (except maybe the ergo.) This is a stretchy, stylish pouch combo carrier that does everything a wrap does but uses pouch simplicity. It's called the "Baby Buddha" not to be confused with the "Buddha Baby" and it's basically two pouches and a hip support. You can use one pouch, two pouches together, pouch and support, two pouches and support - you get the picture. The fabric is ultra stretchy and comfy and breathable like yoga workout fabric, and it makes me feel like my baby is floating as I'm carrying him. Anyway, I'm loving it and I'm not getting paid to say this... Happy babywearing!

Sputnik, if you want to email them that would be great. Ask them about the tax thing which I read on this site

bumperlicious · 16/04/2007 15:45

Seansgirl, glad things are ok with the bean. Don't worry about having a moan, you are in good company!

I would be pissed off with DF too, but I guess people are just telling you to let it slide as they don't want you getting worked up in "your condition"! But they don't understand, what you need is not someone to calm you down, sometime you need someone to go "yeah what a PITA" and empathise with you. Hopefully you can put your feet up for a while now.

Mmm, I'm going to have one of my mars bar little eggs I got for half price now!

Btw I've bought my secret shower gift - doesn't look like much but I hope you like it secret swapee!

sputnik · 16/04/2007 16:39

Nice to have you back Seansgirl, glad your scan went ok. Sounds like some party you had there
I am going to e-mail that Baby Budda lot, but not sure if 3 orders would constitute wholesale, anyone else interested?

mytwocents · 16/04/2007 16:58

sorry sputnik, had to post and run!! They are both english and retired over there, in a tiny village in tuscany, it's very beautiful, not sure there's a cultural gap as such but she's very unlike my family- very dissaproving and a snob anyway, feel bad slagging her now! , anyway, legs crossed you!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too x

Seansgirl, you're clearly a supermum!! Your df sounds like my grandfather by the way, feel for you , sounds tough. great party though!

got to run again... Peace xx

sputnik · 16/04/2007 17:04

I thought slagging your MIL was one of the primary purposes of Mumsnet. If you're ever bored look up some mother in law threads, there are some great ones.

fatcatkin · 16/04/2007 17:24

I'm back! I have missed you all very lots.

I just wanted to say hello before going for a nap as there is a chance I may not wake up again before tomorrow . First day back at work today after a 2 week hol. I'm not sure how i'm going to cope for the next 8 weeks!

hollyandalice · 16/04/2007 17:32

Hi catkin, hope you have a lovely nap and hope you are well.

Honestly I want to get a curry and the bloody curry house isn't open yet! It's sodding 5.30 and I'm starving! They should have a special one that's open all day for pg girls!

Sorry, can't slag off my mil as I don't have one ...but I'm all up for slagging off my fil! He is 60 next year and has a 26 year old cambodian wife !

Sound like a crazy party seansgirl! 28 kids all at once...you are sooooo brilliant!

I WANT A CURRY!!!

hollyandalice · 16/04/2007 17:49

Phew, the curry is ordered!

Dp has just come home with a new toy! He was due a phone upgrade and because he used to work for the network he gets super great free upgrades...well he has just gone into town and got a new pda phone with sat nav! It's really cool, but I'm never going to see him again! He won't let me play with it either. I don't think we'll get any decorating done tonight!

TALLULAHBELLE · 16/04/2007 17:56

Daisybump Have u tried tubi-grip yet? My physio gave me same but was so uncomfy & made my skin itch so only used it couple of times. Bought support belt from Mothercare but doesn't really do much, bit too flimsy. Fellow MNetter passed on much more substantial support which really seems to help, it pulls lower back in and forces you to improve posture.

fatcatkin · 16/04/2007 17:58

I haven't had my nap yet!

I'm having bit of an obsession with curry at the minute. I want to eat it all of the time but DP is having a thing about salad. Which is what we end up eating most nights! Don't get me wrong, I like salad very much but when compared with a curry? No chance. Holly, you've set me off thinking now....

hollyandalice · 16/04/2007 18:04

I love a nice korma! Still all the yummy curry taste, but none of the hb because of the creamy mildness! Dp has just gone to pick it up, I can't wait, I'm soooo hungry! I have these fab 2 for 1 curry vouchers and I'm cooking my own rice so it should be about a fiver!! Hehe I'm such a cheapskate!!

I love salad too catkin, but curry is for winners!!
