Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxybrown · 15/04/2007 12:52

sputnik, I can't imagine how you are coping with bedrest. I hope things are going ok, you aren't going too stir crazy and everything is running smoothly at home. been thinking of you.

give us your best shopping tips!

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 13:07

Just a quick one....bidding on a bath/changing unit on ebay and it runs out in about 8 minutes or so...it's very like the one I used for DS and I WANT IT, but I keep getting outbid, so waiting till the last minute and sneaking in with a funny amount...wish me luck!!

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 13:12

Good luck!

sputnik · 15/04/2007 13:22

Thanks Foxy, I'm bored already, you just look around and see all the things need doing.
going to try and be strict wth myself for a bit though.
Also will be off to MIL's for a few days. Will be supere bored there.

sputnik · 15/04/2007 13:24

So don't keep us in suspense Daisy.

sputnik · 15/04/2007 13:32

Opinions please. Could I get away with this on a boy do you think?
It's about the only short romper they have in small size. Only other one is this
Bloody expensive but I love the stuff on this site

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 13:34

Both are lovely - personally I prefer the orange one.

do you want me to be the voice of reason here or should I encourage you to buy it??

sputnik · 15/04/2007 13:41

I like the orange one best too, but would you put a boy in it?

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 13:48

yes, I would.

And it won't show up stains!

my children have had their first 'running around naked in the paddling pool' day today. Its like summer! lovely!

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 13:48

Yay...I won it!! A bit more than I was hoping to pay, but still less than a new one, and its only been used three times according to the blurb. Here it is here . I had a C-section with DS and found it invaluable for changing/bathing. Of course we had the inevitable turned my back for one second and he pushed himself backwards off the bloody thing at 9weeks old. Thankfully it in the corner, so his fall was kind of broken by the wall. (Mental note to self....must use the safety straps this time )

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 13:50

congrats!

Sorry, but can't help but laugh at "wall broke his fall". We all do it

don't we?

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 13:52

my daughter referred to her aunty yesterday as "Bloody Aunty XXXX". Yes, she was here, in the same room, and heard

sputnik · 15/04/2007 13:52

Well done Daisy.

Thanks Foxy. Now I just have to find a couple of other items off that site to justify the postage

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 13:56

Wow....bright Sputnik...I like the green one better and they are both unisex I think, but I don't think I'd be bold enough to put my LO in one of those.....

You're lucky to get your LOs out of the house Foxy......my DS is glued to the evil Jetix; Power Rangers Wild Force.....resurrected from the archives, but all new and exciting to him. If I trip ove another bloody giant marble, I mean animal life force crystal , I'll scream.

Off to get a new curtain rail and curtains for DS new bedroom......might even get paint for the nursery when I'm out....opting for yellow (but bright sunshine yellow) as still have DS covers and curtains etc so will need to match.

DH busy painting upstairs and he's already built up our new drawer units, so its all coming together nicely.

sputnik · 15/04/2007 14:01

I over compensate for wearing black all the time myself by putting DD in the loudest colours possible. Looks like DS will be following in her footsteps.

foxybrown · 15/04/2007 14:08

Daisy - mine are actually watching nice, lovely gentle Mr Men DVD! Obviously they are unaware that Wild Force is currently showing (I have a feeling Jude was asking for it on dvd the other day - obviously wasn't listening ...) off to set the video ... but only for when I'm really desperate for some peace you understand

The Evil Jetix - the Mother's Saviour!

hollyandalice · 15/04/2007 15:05

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great sunny day! Just went to Homebase and the car temp display said 26! It's bloody boiling! Dp has stripped the wallpaper in the dining room and we are now going to paint it duck egg blue. We were going to have a feature wall in lovely patterned paper, but couldn't find any nice paper. It was all nasty and textured. Even the stuff with nice patterns was textured and I farking hate textured paper!

Love both the rompers sputnik, so crazy and cool!! Hope you are not getting too bored with bedrest!

Hope your decorating is going well daisy. Love the changing unit, I've got one like it, a Mamas and Papas Poppy and Mustard one (I won't tell you how much it cost ). DD fell off it too and cut her nose! I'm such a bad mother!!

Right dp is making loud noise now like he wants me to help! Best run....enjoy the sunshine everyone x

sputnik · 15/04/2007 15:36

Well I've been taking advantage of my sudden lack of a life to catch up on everything I missed over easter...

Seansgirl, hope everything was ok with your scan, let us know.

Not much point really replying to much on the old threads but Marylou just had to let you know that my DD watched nothing but old Muppet shows for about 6 months from about 20 months old. she loved them to death. Initially we downloaded some from Sharazza then I got fed up with her hogging the computer and got a boxed DVD set of the first series from Amazon. They don't do the other series, just a few best-of things. Now you know. Unfortunatly she doesn't watch them anymore

sputnik · 15/04/2007 16:44

Thought of you when I saw this Foxy

marylou23 · 15/04/2007 17:19

Sputnik, so pleased to hear the Muppets live on! Will have a look on Amazon - if I watch reruns now, LO is bound to develop a taste for them in-utero . And LOVE LOVE LOVE the romper suits. Both of them. I figure you need both really - I mean, romper suits get dirty, do they not? And what's the poor little blighter going to wear when one's in the wash? Exactly . And now I've got a whole new website to explore too!!!

Is SO hot today. Just been out to lunch with friends (back to my liking being pregnant thing, by the way, it is so cool being able to eat a huge meal and not have to surreptitiosly undo your top button/feel terrible as you realise your stomach is pushing violently against whatever you're wearing) and by the time I got home my feet were simply not fitting in my shoes anymore. Birkenstoks here we come...

Very impressed by you home improvers. I'm thinking about making the arduous journey downstairs to the sofa to have a lie down

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 18:00

Well....DS is sat by himself finishing his dinner alone as he wont behave at the table, that is he eats with his hands and refuses to use his cutlery, refuses anything that needs chewing, and superticiouly drops things on the floor when he thinks we're not looking!!
He can be a right wee bugger sometimes, especially when he is tired like today (he was up three times through the night). Still, he has been warned that unless he finishes his main course, there'll be no ice-cream.

As well as curtains etc, bought a box of mini magnum type ice lolloes when I was out, and have had three already.....well they're gone in about two bites and at least I'm getting some much needed calcium as well as getting my chocolate hit .

Off to hem some curtains....hey ho!

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 18:11

Had a look on the Nordic Kids website Sputnik. The dummy clip and the rest of it is lovely...I might order some of the striped bodysuits, and they have some grat t-shirts for DS......not difficult to make up the £50 to qualify for free delivery. at the prices.

annobal · 15/04/2007 18:32

Evening all! Hope you have all enjoyed this lovely day. My kids were also running around the garden singing "nudie, nudie..." for most of the day - then as a special treat we had dinner outside. They are now happily tucked up asleep - am now ready for a lovely glass of cool pinot grigiot...

Love the romper suits Sputnik! They are so different to anything I have seen! I have been going a bit mad on ebay on Oilily and Catimini stuff. Unfortunately most of it is light blue so I think I will have to introduce some stronger colours.

Well done to all you home improvers - holly I saw some really lovely wallpaper somewhere and will see if I can dig out the magazine and let you know. Am with you on the 'textured' - reminds me too much of the velvet flocked wallpaper we had in our lounge room when I was growing up.

marylou23 · 15/04/2007 20:30

Sputnik, you realise we are all now going to be dressing our LOs in bright orange and green romper suits? In fact, it could be our calling sign - a bit like the Masons, except we'd know each other by the romper suit instead of silly handshakes. Personally, I think the orange one would work pefectly with my LO's bright red pram .

Daisybump · 15/04/2007 20:43

My pram is red and orange anyway...so it would go really well! I liked some of their stripey rompers.

Found this for the mum who has everything...or who thinks her LO is a precious first born and should be spared certain indignities......LOL.
