Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

LOL at the card idea sputnik....I do a bit of card making, maybe I should get my website set up with a section for 'cards for unusual occasions'

DS has been driving me bonkers today ....if I hear Muuuuuuuuum (in a slightly musical squeaky voice) once more I'm gonna scream. He's been practising really hard on his bike and wants to show me what he can do every two minutes. I feel sorry for the wee mite....we live on 'retirement close'....there are a couple of kids who are in first year of secondary school, one kid who is three years older and bullies and laughs at him all the time, and one baby, but other than that everyone is over 65.

I'll take him and the bike to the park tomorrow so he can show off to his hearts content, but I know I'll only end up having to push the bloody thing, and I can't bend down that far without killing my back....how all you SAHMs manage I don't know...I'm losing the plot already and it's not even been two weeks!!

hollyandalice · 12/04/2007 20:17

It's very quiet on here! Is anyone about? Dp is watching a boring war film, so I'm buying more free stuff from vertbaudet and la redoute!!

sputnik · 12/04/2007 20:33

Wish you'd stop going on about vertbaudet H&A, I was all set to buy some stuff from them only to find I can't register as I'm outside the UK. grumble grumble

hollyandalice · 12/04/2007 20:37

Sorry sputnik ! I've just become obsessed with it! I am a sucker for a special offer!

sputnik · 12/04/2007 20:40

Me too, which was why I was all excited

Daisybump · 12/04/2007 20:44

Hi HandA...I've been about all day, but at the mo am scouring the internet for interesting secret stork pressies......been browsing through the May secret shower thread, as also organised by MarsLady, and some of the pressies are a bit, well, yikes.....one lady received a Cath Kidston changing bag FFS!!!! of course the buyer may have got it off e-bay for 9.50?

hollyandalice · 12/04/2007 20:48

I'm doing that too daisy! I saw the mum that got a CK bag! Yikes indeed! I bought mine off ebay and it was still £35!

sputnik · 12/04/2007 20:58

Well my secret santa needn't worry about getting me a CK bag at least

hollyandalice · 12/04/2007 21:01

You're not a fan are you sputnik?

sputnik · 12/04/2007 21:06

ooo
Calling MYTWOCENTS
urgent! If you want to sign up for the shower you are NOT TOO LATE. I have talked the lovely Marslady into it. Well, she didn't need too much persuading as she is lovely.

Email her asap at Lovelymarslady at aol dot com

Same applies to any others who missed the boat

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 12/04/2007 21:19

Whats this marslady thing all about? Am I missing out on something good? I should probably read through the thread properly but am a bit lazy! sorry!

Daisybump · 12/04/2007 21:19

Off for a comfy seat and then early to bed....my back is aching and my bottom sweaty from the chair in our 'office'

Talk to you all tomorrow, although I WILL be doing some housework or it'll be the divorce courts for me!!

Daisybump · 12/04/2007 21:25

Don'tknowmyarse.....

The May thread organised a secret baby shower....like secret santa in that we all buy a wee gift for someone on our thread....MarsLady, who is a doula and seems to be an all round nice person , organised it for them and has agreed to do ours too. May have been receiving their gifts already, so no worries on it working or not......

Here are the details........

Please email me on lovelymarslady at aol dot com with:

Your MN name
Your address
The sex (if known) of your baby
Your particular dislikes (eg.. you really really hate pink/pale blue)
And/or things you'd rather not get.

You need to be signed up by 10th April. I will then email you all the details of who you are sending to. You will not be sending to the person who is sending to you!

The budget is £10. You are welcome to go over it if you like, but don't expect your swapper to.

Gifts must be bought and arrive by Tuesday 15th May. You can send as soon as you like.^

Daisybump · 12/04/2007 21:27

PS...going to try out my body tubi-grip tomorrow......if I can get DS to work the digital camera, I may just post up a photo.....so be warned!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 12/04/2007 21:29

Thanks Daisy

Best get your bottom off that chair now!!!

marylou23 · 12/04/2007 23:01

Hello,

Just wanted to make a point of saying that I'm AWAKE and I've been OUT (like, into central London out. Tubes. Cinema. Dinner. Bar. You remember that stuff?). Sorry, but these really feel like achievements to me (even if I was home by 10.45pm...) - all the last week I've been in bed by 10pm and as for going out in the evening...

So now I've done it and proved myself, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief and go back to living in my pyjamas.

Night, everyone

Daisybump · 13/04/2007 08:37

Oooh Marylou....hark at you, you dirty stop-out!!

Hope you had a nice night ....I've not even been making it to 10:00pm most nights, and one night when I was away I was sent to bed at 8:30 after falling asleep in the chair at 8 o'clock.

We've got my nephews 21st birthday party on 19 May....3 weeks before my due date, don't know how I'll cope with that at all, but I'll give it a fair go!

Daisybump · 13/04/2007 09:22

I'm wearing my rather attractive Body-grip this morning, and am happy to report it's the comfiest thing I've been in for months. It's made my bump look four weeks smaller and is pulling in all the other lumps and bumps too . LO has been objecting to its presence, but my lower backache is now just a mild nag rather than a constant dull ache...we'll see how it stands up to three hours worth of ironing!!

hollyandalice · 13/04/2007 09:39

Wow daisy, that sounds really sexy!! Glad it's working though. 3 hours of ironing? How do you do that? You are a super woman!!

Sounds like you had a good night marylou! I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow night to a friend's housewarming. I'm not going, I can't be bothered. They'll be loads of pissed people playing drinking games and being young and carefree! I'm SO over that! Well done for going out though, it's really an achievement. Must have been fun to get dressed up and have somewhere to go.

I seem to be keeping the HB at bay by constantly chewing minty gum. It seems to be working quite well, oh and the minty ice cream I had last night did wonders too! Soooo cooling!

BadZelda · 13/04/2007 10:03

I went out too - in 'London's West End' to a bar I haven't been to in yeeeeears. Right blast from the past, and lots of old faces, so that was fun. And a (female) friend said I was a 'hot pregnant babe' which was lovely, if rather generous of her

Daisybump · 13/04/2007 10:14

Three hours of ironing will only put a dent in it...some of it has been there so long that DS has outgrown it and it can go straight into the charity pile .

Who cares about sexy when comfort is paramount...although it's bad enough having sock marks around your ankles when getting frisky, never mind all over body ribbing

Jealous of your 'hot pegnant babe' status BadZ....not a term that can be used to describe my present state.

Anyway, this house will not tidy and clean itself, so......

sputnik · 13/04/2007 10:27

Dunno Daisy, you might be pretty hot after 3 hours ironing, don't do it!
Badzelda, what a lovely friend, can I borrow her?

hollyandalice · 13/04/2007 10:38

I iron as I go, I put things in drawers not ironed and then iron them as I want to wear them. Is that slack? I never iron dp's things, esp his work shirts. He is such a ponce and all his clothes have to be ironed in a certain way. If I do it he moans, so I don't bother!

Lol at hot pregnant babe! I'm sure you are bz! I'm def not! When I was pg with dd I went to London with dp and his work mates and one of them wouldn't leave me alone. He kept groping me and telling me how sexy I looked! I was very flattered at the same time as being horrified! Dp thought it was hilarious! Nothing like that has happened this time though and also ! I'm now obviously just a fat bird with no hint of sexiness!

mytwocents · 13/04/2007 10:44

morning all! Thanks for message sputnik, unfortunately we have no internet at home now and wil have to wait until we move (VERY scary prospect at the mo as may not happen till end of june...) I've just mailed mars so we shall see what she says.... I've just been told that brighton council are going ahead for their wireless city plans, basically means the whole of central brighton and hove will have free internet access - including the beach! Not sure yet how I feel about this... being a bit of a luddite myself, obv i love mn but lap tops all over the beach..? hmm.. any views..?

I need some help girls, I have such pain in my back but it's not lower back pain it's towards the top between my shoulder blades, mw and doc have said there's nothing for it but I'm getting desperate!!! The only position that does'nt hurt is standing or flat on my back... NOT very practical for work... Daisy I'm hearing good things about belts but only info is re lower back pain ....any advice welcome as I cant stop work for at least 6 weeks yet...

sputnik · 13/04/2007 10:47

I never buy anything that needs to be ironed, it's easy once you get the hang of it . Not even sure where my iron IS. Ok, do I win the slob of the week contest then?
