I know walking on thin ice here, So I have tried to promise myself, I will continue to do shopping in January.

hoopdeloop · 10/10/2017 15:19

@pulpi waving from Fife also!!! How funny to meet another Fifer!

usernamegoeshere · 10/10/2017 15:36

Hi, can I join too? I think I'm due 3rd June which makes me 6w3 today! Bit nervous (like everyone!) and have had tiny bits of spotting which isn't ideal but I had it with my first so trying not to stress too much. Been nauseous since before even 4 weeks! It's getting worse every day but fingers crossed this is the peak now. Otherwise I'm just tired and grumpy, working from home today and tomorrow so getting a bit of a rest at least!

We agreed to just tell our mums (as would tell them if I miscarried so seemed logically!) but I ended up telling my boss then my partner let it slip to some of his friends too, apparently secrets aren't for us (mind We kept my first pregnancy secret until 19w!)

I hope everyone isn't feeling too rough today

PisforPeter · 10/10/2017 15:54

Hi everybody, I’m due 11th June with DC3. Feeling sick & tired but having to carry on as my 2 little munchkins don’t let up. Nice to meet everybody and fingers crossed x

ImogenTubbs · 10/10/2017 16:16

Hello to the newbies and congratulations!

Quick update from me - went to the consultant this afternoon and they were able to do a scan right there and then. She found the sac but said basically it's too early to tell how it's doing or find a heartbeat, so has loaded me up with vitamins and paracetamol, told me to lie down as much as possible and booked me in for another scan in a week. Fortunately I work from home, so this week I will be mainly working from bed!

So I'm still in for the time being.

pulpi · 10/10/2017 16:27

To be honest, I’m an incomer, @hoopdeloop . I moved here from Canada about 6 1/2 years ago. I’m going to give birth up at Ninewells, though, as I had DS there in 2016.

hoopdeloop · 10/10/2017 16:51

Fingers crossed for you Imogen.

@pulpi I’ll be at the Victoria in Kirkcaldy, which is where I had DS 2 years ago

IrnBruCraver · 10/10/2017 17:17

Thank you ladies, sometimes you just need reassurance when your hormones are this crazy I guess!

I have no doubts today after being bitten and having blood drawn multiple times as well as cleaning up two protest wees after being barked at. I guess he knows...

Really hope everyone is doing well and my heart goes out to those who aren't. I seem to be getting diarrhea (sorry for tmi) accompanied with crippling pain every couple of days.

HolyShmoly · 10/10/2017 17:18

I've been hesitant in even buying a maternity coat or our early scan in case something goes wrong in the next fortnight! I've been booked in to get balayage done on my hair the week after next and i havent cancelled it yet!
But I have spent an insane amount of time on Pinterest and go to Primark almost daily, hoping that the Harry Potter babygrows come in.

Ginagemelly · 10/10/2017 18:48

Hey everyone,

I've just found out a few days ago but think I am about 4-5 weeks along. So far I'm feeling ok apart from a lil crampy and tired. I've actually just moved abroad so I don't have anyone really to talk to about this at the moment! Glad to have stumbled across this!

Hope everyone is good!

shortcake76 · 10/10/2017 19:03

Can I join too? Only 4 weeks at the moment and due around 14th June. First time pregnant and petrified! I am also a "geriatric" as 40 so taking all precautions and have stocked up on Pregnacare Max. Just a lot of back aches, headaches and twinges at the moment - thankfully no nausea ... yet!

LJFM2B · 10/10/2017 20:19

Hi ladies, see some of you have brought some bits how exciting. I had my MW appointment today and my bloods done. I got a bounty pack with lots of forms to fill in and send out to get freebies so I have sat here and done that this evening but that's as much as my planning goes until 15th November which is my scan date.

They have given me 2 estimates due dates 13/05/18 and 1/06/18 until I have the scan when I'll finally know when I'm due haha ... I know it's by the earlier because of conception but again we will have to see xx

Gaeilge · 10/10/2017 20:33

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to join too please I'm 4 weeks pregnant and due in June I'm 44 years old and after 5 rounds of IVF finally a positive result. Due to my age I'm a high risk pregnancy so very anxious and cautious at the moment.
As this is all new to me I'd like to do some research, which are the best pregnancy books there are so many it's difficult to choose?
Thanks everyone wishing you all well on your journeys.
Namaste.

shortcake76 · 10/10/2017 20:43

Congratulations @Gaeilge good to know there is another "older" poster on here too. I am also high risk and being super cautious too.

Can't advise on books as this is my first pregnancy too, but will be following this thread for any helpful pointers etc.

ladydolly · 10/10/2017 20:44

Welcome new guys!! Hope you have a smooth journey :)

@gaeilge I ready what to expect when you're expecting but if I was to read one now it would be 'How to grow a baby and push it out' written by an nhs midwife.

We have most things but we had a 3rd hand travel system that we gave away in the end, so we need something knowing it won't be used again, so second hand probably. I have been doing some research, tentatively...

Very crampy today, it's been a rough one because I've been so tired. And on that night off to bed, hope to not see you all until morning and no pregsomnia tonight!

IrnBruCraver · 10/10/2017 20:50

I have that book too @ladydolly we bought it the day we got our bfp!

Gaeilge · 10/10/2017 20:59

Wow super quick responses thanks so much will check out that book.

I'm also suffering from pregsomnia hope that doesn't hang around for 9 months :(

lampert · 10/10/2017 21:09

Thank you for the book recommendation. If my early scan works out ok on sat I will treat myself to it. Is there a good book for dads? My DH won't read anything heavygoing but something to the point / light touch would be great.

CosySnuggles · 10/10/2017 21:17

Hello, can I join too please? 6 weeks, Edd 4th June. I'm driving DH mad so have decided I need a safe pregnancy chat space! Will also send email re: Facebook group. Great idea!

This will be my second child, both IVF so feeling rather lucky to be pregnant again as I was convinced it was a fluke first time!

SulkyPuddleDuck · 10/10/2017 21:18

@ImogenTubbs - So pleased you're keeping rested and am crossing literally everything for you re: next week. :) :)

Welcome and congratulations to all new folk!

shortcake76 · 10/10/2017 21:20

Count me in re Facebook group too :-)

I am off to bed too - must have gotten up 5 times in the night to use the bathroom!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 10/10/2017 21:32

Hello, can I join too? I'm about 5.5 weeks with due date around June 9th I think Smile I'm almost 39 and all being well, this will be baby number 3. I have DS(8) and DD(5).

I don't tend to suffer with morning sickness (I'm very lucky!) but I do get extremely tired so I'm struggling to keep my eyes open in the evenings at the moment. Doing ok though.

I'm a bit nervous this time round...in part because of my age, but also I can't shake the feeling that I'm in some way 'pushing my luck' by having a third. I'm probably being irrational but I will be very relieved once I've had a scan!

LJFM2B · 10/10/2017 21:38

Welcome and congratulations to all new BFPs

I have holly willoughbys "it's worked for me"
Giovana fletcher "happy mum happy baby"
Clemons hooper "how to grow a baby and push it out"

I'm reading happy mum happy baby first as I think that's more of a mummy diary but as time goes on I'll get stuck into the other 2 😀

HolyShmoly · 10/10/2017 21:56

I've just ordered How to Grow a Baby. What's Happy Mum Happy Baby like?
I saw this yesterday and am considering getting it for DH as part of his Christmas present. It's his birthday next week but he's very much in the 'something might go wrong at any point' state of mind so it might be too soon for then.
Bloody knackered today. I'm not sure if it's the fatigue kicking in or the fact that I was wide awake and absolutely boiling last night.
Apart from that and the boobs though I don't feel pregnant. I keep thinking that there must be a mistake and I'm not really pregnant.

HolyShmoly · 10/10/2017 21:57

That's so weird, I couldn't post a link. But it's the 'Parenting the Shit out of Life' one by MuthaPukka. It looked fun but realistic.
