Such sad news to read.

ladydolly · 04/10/2017 19:51

I had suspected undiagnosed GD, I was fine at the 28 week check but then went on to have my 10lb03 baby. I gained a lot of weight (over 40lbs) and the fact I lost nearly all of it in a matter of weeks makes me think that's what it is. The midwife said they won't test me early but then I have had a hospital appointment through for around 20 weeks so perhaps they'll investigate then.
I am a little overweight, far from obese and no one seems worried by that. I normally exercise and eat really well but in these early weeks I only stop feeling sick when I'm eating carbs! Hope to get back on track in a month or 2.

Caspiana · 04/10/2017 20:03

@cronxgirl27 you poor thing, hugs xx

HolyShmoly · 04/10/2017 20:04

@cronxgirl27 I'm so sorry. I hope it's not as bad as it seems. Flowers

Cronxgirl27 · 04/10/2017 20:17

Thank you for your messages. I will wait a week and take another test to confirm and see EPU if there's any chance it's still positive. I'm trying to be realistic and not get my hopes up for a miracle.

weasledee · 04/10/2017 20:22

So sorry cronx, wishing you the best Flowers

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 20:22

My doc said wait 10 days if something like that happens. Hoping for the best for you x

Mummyloves09 · 04/10/2017 20:57

@cronxgirl27 I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I can not imagine how you feel right now. I'm sending Big hugs your way.

Emz01 · 04/10/2017 21:04

@Cronxgirl27 so sorry to hear what’s happened, I have experienced this too in January and it’s an awful situation to be in. Take care of yourself

@purplebiro I will be on tenterhooks too! I haven’t discussed what will happen this time around with anyone yet but I imagine I will be tested early. GD along with thyroid problems makes things tricky! FX for both of us! When is your DD?

@HolyShmoly Yes a good diet (high in fiber and low in fat and calories) and exercise is a good way to prevent GD.

curliegirlie · 04/10/2017 21:06

@Cronxgirl27 - really sorry to hear that, it’s absolutely horrible. I had a CP back in May which was over before af was even due, and that affected me much more than I would have predicted. I had allowed myself to get too excited in those short couple of days...I can’t imagine what it’s like if it’s any later.

I echo those feeling a bit anxious about being in limbo. I’m only around 4+1 and scans seem sooo far away, although we may end up with an early one, as a lot of NIPT providers seem to include them in their packages...

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 21:09

@purplebiro same here with thyroid issues, they are putting me under high risk care which seems so scary to be labelled that way.

pulpi · 04/10/2017 21:17

Thinking of you, @Cronxgirl27 Flowers

purplebiro · 04/10/2017 21:35

What thyroid issues do you have, out of interest @IrnBruCraver? I had post partum thyroiditis last time - lost about three stone in two months without trying (or realising, just showed up when gp decided to give me full bloods at dd's 8 week check - I thought I'd discovered the world's best diet until I realised 😂). That then swung to underactive and has normalised to sub clinical (i.e. No treatment beaded) underactive for the last eighteen months. I was discharged from endocrine a few months ago, will be interested to see if it happens again.

@EMZ01 I've worked it out as 27/5 but I think I ovulated late so put myself in here so I'm not kicking around on my own at the end!!

@Cronxgirl27 really sorry to hear that, I hope the outlook improves soon.

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 21:41

I have hypothyroidism (underactive) @purplebiro which requires me to take daily hormones. It's the crap one that causes weight gain, depression, fatigue and randomly my eyebrows to fall out among other things. Hoping it won't cause any trouble with this.

purplebiro · 04/10/2017 21:47

Oh man, is it your first? With my thyroid issues and my pre-booking in with the kid wife this time she said they would just make sure they always tested thyroid function when they do bloods (which is pretty frequently!) and my guess is if even if I don't get the gd I'll still get extra scans. Hopefully yours won't be that different - I was under specialist care last time for the gd and it didn't alter my experience much until the very end.

Emz01 · 04/10/2017 21:47

@purplebiro ah ok so you’re a couple of weeks ahead of me my DD is 10/6.

@IrnBruCraver @purplebiro I’m hypothyroid too, I was born without a thyroid which I’m told is very rare. Still under consultant for this as it may have caused my MC in January. Also @IrnBruCraver if you’re taking thyroxine daily it will probably need to be increased to support pregnancy GP should confirm.

Emz01 · 04/10/2017 21:48

Sorry not sure why last post was in bold!

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 21:49

It is my first yeah. I am going for a blood test tomorrow. I was always borderline with it and they just decided to go ahead and put me on treatment anyway as I had all the symptoms.

Bunnyears85 · 04/10/2017 22:28

I also have an under active thyroid so was consultant led last pg. Made no difference! Just carried on as normal!

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 22:36

@Bunnyears85 and did it all go well?

MynameisJune · 05/10/2017 05:58

Can I join? Bfp this morning and DD 11/06/18. It’s suoer early days and I’m nervous but figure that nothing I do online will realistically have any bearing on the outcome of this pregnancy.

I’m 33, have DD who is 22 months.

hoopdeloop · 05/10/2017 07:15

Can I jump in? BFP yesterday and today, estimated due date is 13th June but that may change at the scan! This will be my second child, DS is 2.5
