And you get tour own room postnatally if you need to stay in.

IrnBruCraver · 03/10/2017 16:24

Wow that sounds great @jmojo

Hi all! I'm tentatively joining. I got my BFP last Thursday at 9dpo, so it's only today, several + tests later and now af's due but absent that I actually feel it might be real. Zero symptoms yet, but then I didn't really get any with my dd, so it will be interesting to see if I can remain morning sickness free this time round.

I plan to book a gp appointment tomorrow- will hopefully be next week. I am bracing myself for a tonne of crap from doctors and midwives, as my dd has Down's Syndrome, which I think drastically increases my chances of T21 this time round, so I'm hoping to pre-empt things by booking a harmony test - if low chance, it means we'll avoid a lot of the shite that getting high chance through NHS NT/bloods would entail (assumptions we'd automatically want an amnio etc), and if high chance, the sonographers would know what to look out for in the 20 week scan, and we'd avoid being given the news postnatally hours after the birth and having the first day spoiled.

Anyway, my stats

Age - 35
1 dd (25 months)
EDD - 12 June 2018.

Amzcolin86 · 03/10/2017 19:15

Hey everyone !! Congratulations on your BFPs!

I have just found out I am pregnant with my second baby. My periods are crazy irregular so started trying a bit earlier than planned and think must have got pregnant first time! I am currently equally terrified and excited! Think I’m more anxious than the first time! My DS is 22 months and entering a lovely shouty toddler phase😬 I was just wondering if any one had found an cheaper alternative to the Pregnacare vitamins ?

RockinRobinTweets · 03/10/2017 20:04

I don't know how anyone take pregnacare, they're massive! I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin d.

HolyShmoly · 03/10/2017 20:12

A couple of us on here take Wilko's version of pregnacare. It's a fraction of the price. (I generally buy wilko's own brand medicines as they are always waay cheaper, worth the extra effort of going a bit further.)

Is anyone else crazy thirsty? I'm not sure if I'm assuming that everything is a symptom at this stage.

SulkyPuddleDuck · 03/10/2017 20:13

@RockinRobinTweets Haha I don't mind them mostly because I'm one of those terrible people who can swallow pills dry and doesn't gag (learnt this is a bad idea the hard way a few years ago when an ibuprofen got stuck in my throat and burned for days!). The thing that really pains me is the price - if this little thing sticks I'll have ended up spending nearly £150 on Pregnacare Max by June! I'm such a sucker for branding >.

SulkyPuddleDuck · 03/10/2017 20:14

@HolyShmoly - hmm I'll have a look for those! Are they also called Pregnacare?

Mommymoo1 · 03/10/2017 21:37

Hi, can I join please?
I found out on Friday that I am pregnant, with a clear blue digital, and since then I have done internet cheapies, but I'm so worried that something will go wrong.
With my dd it took so long to conceive, over 3 years, but this time it only took one month, so I am convinced it is wrong :-(

SulkyPuddleDuck · 03/10/2017 21:57

@holyshmoly ahh nice one, cheers!

SulkyPuddleDuck · 03/10/2017 21:59

@Mommymoo congratulations! The waiting is super tough isn't it? Spent most of today panicking that something's going to go wrong or a chemical or something.. guess it's just going to be a case of waiting and hoping. Keep your chin up - we're all in the same boat :)

Mommymoo1 · 03/10/2017 22:03

@SulkyPuddleDuck thankyou, I wasn’t this worried with Dd, I don’t know what it is this time.
Fingers crossed for everyone x

HolyShmoly · 03/10/2017 22:07

I was in town after work today and made the mistake of having a quick look around their nursery area. Big mistake. I felt like a fraud for not being 'properly pregnant' and also overwhelmed by all the different types of prams!
I also thought the Ikea cot looked far nicer than the mothercare or silvercross ones? DH will be all over doing the research on those things though. He was all delighted with himself when he reminded me that the car is family friendly on Sunday afternoon! I'd already checked that it was suitable for isofix, etc

MagggieMay · 03/10/2017 22:13

Soap mouth. My mouth tastes of soap
It's bizarre.

Only other symptom is the boob pain. But the Soap!!

IrnBruCraver · 04/10/2017 00:55

Wish the cramps would stop. Every twinge is freaking me out. Hoping it's just the excessive wind.

MagggieMay · 04/10/2017 06:29

Yeah the cramps are awful you're right, keep running to the loo to check everything is okay.

DT2016 · 04/10/2017 07:09

Congratulations to the newcomers on the thread 😊

@MagggieMay your soap mouth comment made me laugh how horrible for you. In my last pregnancy, I had waaaaay too much saliva. It was gross!! Hoping to avoid that this time round!

I'm hoping to have a very early scan next week. Consultant who finally sorted me out after traumatic miscarriage last year said he'd scan me himself at 5 weeks next time I'm pregnant to make bubba is in the right place this time. Trying to get hold of my gp to get referral - easier to speak to the queen 😡

lampert · 04/10/2017 07:20

Hope you can get your referral @DT2016

@MagggieMay soap mouth sounds awful!!

My cramps have eased off now which is worrying but nice at the same time. I don't really have any symptoms apart from waking up at 4am daily which is leaving me feeling a bit tired! Today is the first day I've felt nauseous but I think that's to do with total overindulgence yesterday rather than morning sickness. Gagging whilst showering and brushing my teeth was horrible though, I really feel for you ladies suffering daily with sickness!

Sharl2017 · 04/10/2017 07:30

Morning ladies can I join?
Due 9th June with my first.
Both dh and I over the moon.
No sickness but definitely exhausted from it, fuzzy head, light headed and keep getting little pinching sensations.

SulkyPuddleDuck · 04/10/2017 08:28

With you on the twinge panics... Had a freak out last night as there was a tiny bit of pink-tinged ewcm when I wiped. Took a test in the middle of the night with diluted vitamin-y wee and freaked out that it looked paler Blush Hmm

Decided it was almost certainly all over for me, until this morning's Clearblue digi said 1-2 and all others were clear BFPs. The digi is the first 25miu test I've done so that encourages me somewhat.

Surgery said if I was really freaking out they could give me a same day appointment so I'm popping in at 11 to see the doc for a bit of reassurance...

I'm pretty sure I ov'd around 21/9 which means I'm just in the 2 week section. If I can hold off the crazy until Monday and do the second digi and I go up to 2-3 I'll feel heaps better (for the time being)

@MaggieMay - soap mouth?! Reminds me of what my grandparents used to say if I used bad language.

Speaking of bad language, DP went out to the pub last night with some of the blokes from our village (important to bond when you're new I suppose!) Got a text at 11 saying 'back soon!' Cue stumbling in at 1am to me looking like a cross sausage roll with the duvet up to my chin and surrounded by pregnancy tests. He's not thrilled to be driving me to the docs in two hours... Wink

SulkyPuddleDuck · 04/10/2017 08:30

@Sharl2017 congratulations on your BFP :) It'll be my first too (fingers crossed!) exciting and scary and full of pinch-y twinges!

LJFM2B · 04/10/2017 08:37

Its so bizarre how you(we) wish for all this pain on ourselves for reassurance, i thought this morning my boobs arent really hurting which is worrying me - my DH said surely thats nice for you to have a day off of moaning about them being sore?

DT2016 let us know if you manage to get your appointment, its hard because to them your just another worried expectant mother but to us its such a huge thing.

Im going to give it until friday and if i havent heard anything i am going to call (as last time they forgot to send my letter)

SO IMPATIENT

jmojo · 04/10/2017 08:42

DT2016 I has the ptyalism last time too. I ended up spitting into a cup for about 4 weeks at it's very worst. Fortunately it eased off about 16 weeks. REALLY hoping I don't have it this time. Not sure what was worse that or the 24 hrs a day nausea.
