Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

I'm 5w3d and also having some bleeding! Spoke to a monumentally unhelpful midwife on the phone and now playing the waiting game over the weekend. Will probably head to the early pregnancy assessment unit on Monday

Hiraeth17 · 22/09/2017 19:21

Treehouse

I was scanned and had the 1st bloods on Tues, which was 6 was and 1 day from the start of last period. The yolk was visible 2 days later - so 6 was 3 days, though it was more like mid-5th according to measurements.

Good luck, keep us posted

Hello everyone! Those on Facebook group may have seen this, but thought I'd update here too. So, last Friday at 5+3 I went to A&E with spotting and cramping. Saw a doc in the EPU and he examined me, filled about for ages and then concluded that my cervix was open and I was therefore having a miscarriage. He mentioned polyps as well but said as my cervix was open miscarriage was inevitable. Told me to come back the following week (today) for a scan to see if I'd lost the baby. I bled loads after the exam but it tapered off that evening and I had nothing after that. Had an awful week of worrying and went for my scan this morning. There was a little baby with a lovely heartbeat measuring 6+1! A couple of cysts on my ovaries but nothing concerning and my cervix is well and truly closed. She said either it was open for some reason and has since contracted, or it was never open in the first place. Just goes to show you, the doctors can sometimes be wrong!!

Meet Baby B number 3 :)

Congratulations @andbabymakes5! Lovely news.

Do people find their symptoms fluctuate? My boobs were agony earlier and they're still sore but less so. Is that a bad sign?

DaisyMay25 · 22/09/2017 20:05

@McTufty yes mine do! My boobs are never sore at night for some reas! Cramps and backache seem to come and go. The nausea though that's constant. I get a few mini windows throughout the day where my body wants food. No actually committing yet thankfully but constantly feeling like I need to throw up.

DaisyMay25 · 22/09/2017 20:05

Oh god so many spelling mistakes, I must be more tired than I thought haha

AndBabyMakes5 · 22/09/2017 20:13

Yes mine do too. One day my boobs kill, the next they feel fine and I'm squeezing them to see if they hurt! Sickness has been terrible today though, hoping I get a break from that for a day or so!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 22/09/2017 20:34

I definitely have fluctuating boob soreness. They were pretty sore for the first few weeks, then got better and are now worse again. I'm really glad of that right now because it's my main symptom.

I have a horrible headache tonight and I'm alone for the weekend (with my DD) as my DH is away. I can't wait to eat dinner and then go to bed!! Keeping myself very busy so I don't think about the scan on Monday 😬😬

HerSymphonyAndSong · 22/09/2017 20:38

Breast pain is my main symptom too and it is always there but fluctuates mainly with the time of day - it's better in the mornings and then seems to get progressively worse

Nausea, cramps and back pain seem to come and go, but the nausea is getting more frequent and worse each time

MammaBear18 · 22/09/2017 20:39

My nausea is fluctuating but boob pain seems constant. The nausea (well the lack of) worries me a lot to be honest but all will be revealed tomorrow at early scan Blush. I will be grateful for the day when any slight increase in discharge doesn't make me run to conduct another knicker-check!!

McTufty · 22/09/2017 21:22

That's reassuring, thanks guys!

Good luck with the scans @doublechocholatetiffin and @mammabear18. I also keep feeling phantom bleeding and running to the loo to check!!

Noredwine · 22/09/2017 22:40

Hi all
First post and first pregnancy! Due 4 May. Had early scan on Monday at 7w4days and saw heartbeat! Still worried though as symptoms disappeared day before scan and nausea pretty much gone as have sore boobs. Half excited, half petrified it will go wrong. 39 so know things not as easy for body to take! Finding it hard that can't tell anyone!!

Kirstipops · 22/09/2017 23:14

That's amazing babymakes5!
Tender boobs are my main symptom, though sometimes they feel totally fine and then a day later when I'm bagging them into my bra it's like they have fking rocks in them :O I feel sometimes feel queasy first thing and before lunch (basically pre-food), I'm hoping this is as bad as it gets with nausea as I gained a good bit of weight in the first semester with my daughter due to gorging on stodge to stave off nausea! I never did manage to lose that last 10lbs from my first pregnancy (prob gained 35 all in Confused ) and scared I'll pile a bunch on again. Good luck with the scans tomorrow Tiffin and mamabear.
Welcome noredwine Smile

SquashyMummy · 22/09/2017 23:15

I'm 5+5 and still waiting for proper symptoms, maybe I've imagined it? Think I'll POAS again tomorrow!
I bought some pregnancy vitamins on 3 for 2 today, and then worried I'm jynxing things and won't need them Hmm

LadyPug · 22/09/2017 23:35

Hey squashy same here, 5+4 but zero symptoms. Boobs are fine, no real pain, cramps are minimal, just worked a 15 hour day and don't feel shattered, feeling a bit worried. Just poas, still says I'm pregnant so I guess I am? I don't feel it though!

SquashyMummy · 23/09/2017 05:58

Haha ladypug, I'm not the only one then! Just POAS and the line came up immediately, and much quicker than other tests, so looks like HCG is rising. I didn't get any symptoms till 6/7 weeks last time so I'll probably be moaning about symptoms before long!

Fulltimeparent · 23/09/2017 06:22

Hi, this is a great idea.

Fulltimeparent · 23/09/2017 06:24

Looks like I’m the only one having baby number 6 was a surprise.

Gyoza · 23/09/2017 07:23

@fulltimeparent baby number 6? Crikey!

6 weeks today, still no symptoms other than sore boobs and tiredness! What is everyone doing re flu jab? Do they talk to you about it at the booking appointment?

HerSymphonyAndSong · 23/09/2017 07:28

Nausea turned into vomiting for the first time this morning, ugh

Gyoza I plan to go along with H when he gets his done (he is asthmatic) and see what they say

MotherOfBoy · 23/09/2017 07:29

Morning all just catching up!

Great news andbaby so pleased it turned out well for you.

So my mum has a friend who is an obstetrician and she is loving at the hospital this weekend as she is on call... and she had offered to give me a quick scan! I'm 6+2 hoping will see a heartbeat?! I am guessing it's likely to be dildocam?

Poppy012 · 23/09/2017 08:26

my symptoms are always on and off! No sickness what so ever, and hardly any other signs except from the tiredness and baby is healthy doing well after my second scan yesterday. I'm 8 weeks 4 days now! So great seeing how much he/she had grown from my 6 week ultrasound it's amazing 😁
@mother my scan at 6 weeks was abdominal! X

Poppy012 · 23/09/2017 08:28

Gyoza - I'm unsure about the flu jab also what are people's thoughts on this? I never had to have it with my previous pregnancy.

Fulltimeparent · 23/09/2017 08:46

@Gyoza yep still getting used the idea will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Youngest starts full time at school on Monday was thinking yes will have time for myself when DD goes . Well I will have to until the baby arrives. Sorry if this is tmi but got pregnant because my coil got lost they couldn’t find it at my 6 week check.had to have have scans and then X-ray on my stomach they said it must have fallen out . Well I did a pregnancy test it positive, doc wanted to know if I wanted to go ahead with the pregnancy as I prob was 3 weeks gone when I had the X-ray she said risk was low. I didn’t know at the time . Well I hope everything is ok when I go for my first scan. Anyone else been in a similar situation.

Daniela50 · 23/09/2017 08:48

The flu strains are going to be twice as virulent this year. The flu jab if. Only 40% effective, but I guess that's 40% better than nothing?!
