So sorry binky Flowers

Kirstipops · 21/09/2017 19:56

Oh Milford I hope you can enjoy the holiday, drink lots of mocktails! We were away in July and my toddler had a ball, fx'd yours will be in good form for it too. Eating crisps on a sunny sun lounger sounds magnificent to me right now!

MotherOfBoy · 21/09/2017 20:00

Good luck milford and hurrah! We moved house last week, the pain is still fresh in my mind!

McTufty · 21/09/2017 20:10

@binkybunny so sorry, thinking of you xxx

Piewraith · 21/09/2017 22:34

So sorry to hear that @Binky.

@Alexsmum89 what are you taking? I'm taking b6 and doxylamine but it's not having to much effect.

LadyPug · 21/09/2017 22:55

So sorry to hear this binky and thinking of you

timeisnotaline · 22/09/2017 00:40

@piewraith I think doxylamine would be a first option - probably often not that effective. If If it's not working you can go back and ask for something else. There is a range of progressively stronger stuff. I think last pregnancy I started on cyclazine and moved up the chain. Not looking forward to it again!!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 22/09/2017 07:48

@Milford I know the feeling of apprehension of going away with a toddler. It's hard to know if it'll work. We loaded our iPad up with some films (Frozen, Despicable me etc) and also let our daughter play the Lego Juniors game, which she loves! - LEGO® Juniors by LEGO System A/S
itunes.apple.com/gb/app/lego-juniors/id491075156?mt=8

We don't usually let her on the iPad much, but it's so brilliant for keeping them quiet on the plane! Good luck, I hope you have a lovely time.

Dorotha · 22/09/2017 08:14

I second that. iPads are brilliant for flying and traveling with toddlers. Just make sure you get some toddler headphones. My son loves playing angry birds.

Kirstipops · 22/09/2017 09:35

And snacks and sticker books, a new comic for the flight? The free Sago Mini app games are good too, my daughter likes Friends, Forest Flyer and Dress Up ones.

PhoenixDown · 22/09/2017 10:28

Finally made booking appt. 2 and a bit weeks seems sooooooo far away!

PhoenixDown · 22/09/2017 10:29

When DD was 2 we went on holiday, I would never have got through it without iPad! Loaded loads of peppa pig on, she didn't make a peep. Few snacks too in case she got grumpy. She fell asleep after a while and didn't even wake up when the plane landed!

Hairgician · 22/09/2017 13:43

We went away to Tenerife last November with our then 3yr old ds. 4hr flight, managed to occupy him with Pringles and some sweets then spent rest of flight trying to keep him distracted with his new Lego he got in the airport. Finally he fell asleep. 10min before landingAngry cue a grumpy little shit waiting for luggage in arrivals, which took an age!!
Coming home he was tired and cranky getting on the plane. Spent the whole lead up to take off crying and then passed out sleeping just as we took off. Slept for an hour then tortured me rest of flight. Aw well peace for an hour was nice!

treehousemama · 22/09/2017 13:58

So sorry to hear your sad news binky

I'm not sure where we stand at the moment. Called the Early Pregnancy Unit on Wednesday as I was anxious about a previous mmc, and they said to come in today for an early scan. Scan showed a gestational sac but it looked empty. As I have long cycles my dates could be wrong and I could be at as little as 5+4, so that may be normal. They took bloods to check hcg and I go back on Sunday morning for more, then will get a yay or nay call on Sunday night. Not sure how to feel!

Hiraeth17 · 22/09/2017 14:36

Treehouse! I am going through the exact same thing. Was referred by GP to EPU cos of previous MCs. They did a scan when I thought I was 5,4 or 5,5. Only saw an empty gest sac. I was devasted! One of my previous MCs was a blighted ovum. They took bloods on Tues, then again on Thurs. it had nearly doubled (all good).

I was going out of my mind so I went for a private scan and the found the gest sac AND a yolk! I was so relieved.

I have another scan at the EPU on Mon and will hopefully see the feral pole or HB by then.

Don't worry - I was nearly a week off with my dates and I have long cycles too (min 32 days) xx

treehousemama · 22/09/2017 15:02

Hiraeth17 oh wow that is great news! What weeks/days were you at when you saw the yolk? Fingers crossed for you on Monday!
I'm keeping relatively positive as I still feel nauseous and very tired, and am assuming that if it was all over red rover I wouldn't have symptoms. When I had the mmc my symptoms disappeared overnight (7w5d). How long did the EPU schedule between the hcg result and the next scan on Monday? Was that Tues/Thurs of this week that you had the blood tests?

DaisyMay25 · 22/09/2017 16:20

Hi Ladies, just come across this thread (I tried reading the one before but 1000 messages was too many)
I'm due may 20th according to nhs calculator, but I'm freaking out
been spotting for a few days (brown though) gp and midwife assured me it's common but I just can't shake the paranoia.
I'm not sure whether to pay for an early test though, my other half is a twin and multiples run in both sides of my family.

treehousemama · 22/09/2017 16:55

Hey Daisymay , sorry you're feeling so worried - totally feel the same! I had an early scan today (don't know how many weeks I am really due to loooong cycles but I think 5+4) and honestly I kind of wish I had waited another week or two so that it was more conclusive. Didn't see anything, and that may be because of a mmc, or because it's too early to tell - I thought the scan would put my mind at rest either way but actually I'm more confused now than ever!

DaisyMay25 · 22/09/2017 16:58

Hi @treehousemama thanks for the reply
I think the bleeding is finally easing (might be wishful thinking though)
I think we're about the same, I'm worked out about 5+5 so not far off!
I've got my midwife when I'll be 7+2 so might see what she says about an early scan the week after

treehousemama · 22/09/2017 17:09

I hope so - it does sound scary even if it is brown! Sounds like we're on the same schedule! I have my midwife appointment on Oct 2nd but I guess I will know on Sunday if that's going ahead or not, depending on my hcg results.
I think asking the midwife about a scan in the 8th week is a good plan. Then you really should see something!
