Urgh I've made sure to eat something every 2 hours today and had plenty of water and my nausea just hasn't subsided at all. It feels so draining, I feel like I've done nothing with my DD at all. I'm so grateful that I'm not actually being sick but I wish this would pass!

I know what you mean cautiousoptimist feel wiped out here and just totally fed up of feeling this way!!!

MooChops89 · 08/10/2017 07:17

@Gyoza I've got the same pain but in my left bum cheek! I assumed it was sciatica. I'm a bit overweight and had it before when I was even heavier so thought my nerves are probs a bit more sensitive. It's a killer after a 12 hour shift on my feet too

MotherOfBoy · 08/10/2017 08:02

Oh dear there I was saying I was going to try harder to keep up and I haven’t checked the thread in a week! Blush have read the last two pages...

If it’s my consolation I’ve had a week or so of pulling/cramping I think it is uterus expanding (and possibly constipation which has now kicked in!) I remember it last time too.

I also find nausea for me tends to be associated with stress and or poor sleep. If I’ve slept really well then I tend not to feel too sick. That and eating little and often as can’t eat full meals really.

Am 8+3 today, booking is on Wednesday. I am so bloated look the same as I did at 16 weeks with DS! Had to get some jojo clothes in the sale too as work clothes don’t fit. Luckily they are for nursing too so can wear when not too pregnant.

Am feeling v anxious about work. Last time I was made redundant when I came back from mternity leave (they waited til I was back, obviously) and the whole thing was a horrendous experience. I’m sure it won’t happen at my current work but have a new boss starting in a month which I M also nervous about Nd it is constantly in the back of my mind. That and I am up for promotion atm (unlikely to get) which is just added stress! Roll on second trimester when everyone will know and hopefully be nice to me Grin

HerSymphonyAndSong · 08/10/2017 08:08

New manager must be very stressful mother of boys - you just don't know what they're going to be like

My manager is lovely but I know she is looking for something new and if she goes then in the interim will be her manager, who acts within the law but is one of those people who views having children an irritating hobby that only women insist on (and staff getting pregnant is taken as a personal affront)

HerSymphonyAndSong · 08/10/2017 08:21

Lord, that "everyone has had a miscarriage" thread is following me around. I do think it's a really important thing to talk about but it's just at the wrong time for me!

MooChops89 · 08/10/2017 10:25

I know, I read the first page of that thread and had to stop because the topic is basically what has fuelled my worries from the start!

Fulltimeparent · 08/10/2017 11:54

Hi, what are you ladies doing for hair removal I’ve got hair sprouting everywhere my skin is really sensitive I can’t use my Ipl machine at the moment.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 08/10/2017 11:57

I don't really bother with hair removal other than an epilator underarms unless I'm getting legs out, which I'm not atm as it's now too chilly for me

Californiadreaming15 · 08/10/2017 12:01

I'd started getting laser before I fell pregnant but I've obviously had to stop. Back to the razor now. A place near me advertises pregnancy waxing.

MrsOB27 · 08/10/2017 12:20

Hi All! I'm 10+4 weeks today and have just started to get a really achey lower back/top of bum cheek. It's mainly when I'm walking, I have read online it could be muscles starting go relax a little bit? Anyone else experiencing something similar? 2 weeks on Wednesday till my scan... hope it goes quickly!

Fulltimeparent · 08/10/2017 12:24

Hi all, back to the dreaded razor it is then hate razor burn wish my skin would settle down Confused

HerSymphonyAndSong · 08/10/2017 12:28

Would you consider not doing any hair removal for a period of time to avoid irritating the skin too badly if it's very sensitive at the moment?

Whatamuddleduck · 08/10/2017 16:43

On the subject of hair removal; I caught sight of my face in the rear view mirror today in bright sunshine and was treated to a view of my new beard! Amazed no one had told me and and miffed that all the accounts of thick shiney hair in pregnancy don't mention that that hair might not be on top of my head!

Firework83 · 08/10/2017 18:30

@MrsOB27 I'm 10 + 2 and just this weekend started to get lower back ache. I got my winter wardrobe out yesterday from under the bed / vaccum bags, etc and my back has really suffered.

I had a hot wax the other day - it was a little bit more sensitive than usual!!!

MotherOfBoy · 08/10/2017 20:07

fulltime I wax legs and eyebrows regularly and never stopped during pregnancy before. Only do bikini high days and holidays do that’s not an issue for me. Weirdly I’ve found it less painful now I’m pregnant as period hormones made it worse before! Could you epilator I’d wax would be too irritating? Or hold off for a bit and wear thick tights? I’ve been waxing so long now you can’t even tell if I’m wearing tights so I leave it longer in winter anyway

MotherOfBoy · 08/10/2017 20:08

california what is pregnancy waxing?! Hmm surely it’s just the same as normal waxing?

Noredwine · 08/10/2017 20:09

All you hairy ladies!! What about hair removal cream? I have never had laser treatment or even waxing as not that hairy and too much of a wuss to try waxing after one bad experience with eyebrow! I just use a lady shaver for lady bush (when I can be bothered to remember - I quite often rock a 70's bush much to my friends' horror who are all waxed or lasered to within an inch of their lives!!) but when I do want to remove more down below or want legs properly soft and not just used razor in the shower I use hair removal cream - I know it's messy but not painful. X

Fulltimeparent · 08/10/2017 21:13

Noredwine - yes I do use hair removal cream but what I meant was for my face really because I have bad acne and I can’t use my ipl now. Also sensitive skin as well don’t want to use cream there. Tried threading skin broke out really bad tried waxing as well any suggestions would be appreciated.

Noredwine · 08/10/2017 21:37

Fulltimeparent - oh sorry didn't realise you meant facial hair - that's a tricky one isn't it. I have a white whisker on my cheek that seems to sprout overnight (nothing to do with pregnancy) and I have to pluck it using tweezers but really hard to do that I imagine with fine facial hair and probably a bit painful too. X

Californiadreaming15 · 08/10/2017 23:18

@MotherOfBoy here is a lift from the website. If it's facial I use sensitive hair removal cream.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 09/10/2017 05:24

You sort of feel like they should be doing those things regardless of pregnancy!

Sorry full time parent I also thought you meant legs rather than face

MotherOfBoy · 09/10/2017 06:31

Agree hersymphony - my first reaction was it must be a con!

Haha me too noredwine I regularly trim but waxing only for special occasions! No way I’m taking a razor down there, oh the stubble! Tbh don’t get the whole ‘nude’ fashion atm...

MrsRonBurgundy · 09/10/2017 06:34

Hi Ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this fine Monday morning!
Does anybody know if tonic water is ok to drink when pregnant? I'm 9+4 and really suffering with nausea. Everything I can think of to drink is making me queasy except for Diet Coke but obviously I can't be necking that.
Yesterday though I had a glass of tonic water with loads of lime and actually didn't feel sick . But then I saw some bits on Internet suggesting it's not ok? Not nhs site though.
Does anybody know that please?

RedPanda25 · 09/10/2017 06:47

I’ve just found this link from and nhs booklet and it suggests drinking tonic water to help aid with morning sickness so I reckon it’s ok. You could always check with your Midwife though if you’re not sure?
