Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

also I've suddenly decided I NEED eggs. what do we not have in the house?? but that means getting dressed and going to the supermarket without dying which seems an impossible task right now

Kirstipops · 01/10/2017 10:00

My dd had me up about 4am the other day and then I couldn't get back to sleep because of dull cramping phoenix , :( haven't had it since (had been on and off before that), that's rotten you need painkillers, hopefully it fades soon!

milford good luck with today's scan!

rainbows the bloating is awful, I'm usually fine first thing and then within half an hour i look ridic!

piewraith that sounds awful Sad, maybe go back to the docs and you could try something else?

MilfordFound · 01/10/2017 11:38

Morning mamas
Good news at the scan, baby looks fine! Measuring 8w4d. Phew!

Really like the lady at the scan place, she's lovely. It's My Baby Scan in Burscough Lancashire if anyone is in the north west.

PhoenixDown · 01/10/2017 11:48

Great news Milford I'm so glad the little un is OK!

LadyPug · 01/10/2017 11:50

Ah yay! Great news Milford

Lorz80 · 01/10/2017 11:56

Amazing news Milford!!! So happy for you!! X

Doublechocolatetiffin · 01/10/2017 12:00

That's fab news @Milford Grin

Aggy106 · 01/10/2017 12:34

Great news Milford!

treehousemama · 01/10/2017 12:54

Great news Milford! We're in the north west too so may take up your recommendation at some point... got a long-awaited scan on Tuesday to see if we've got a blighted ovum or a baby. All going well I think I'll need another scan at 9-10 weeks for peace of mind before the 12 week scan! Nausea is a struggle here; haven't actually been sick but feel like I'd feel better if I could actually chuck! I could sleep for Britain too... feeling very grateful that I freelance and can turn down work while I'm feeling crap. DH has cooked for the last week as I can't go in the kitchen without retching from days-old smells lingering somewhere! Got the nose of a bloodhound these days.

timeisnotaline · 01/10/2017 13:09

Congrats Milford! I got my
Scan apts but it's not till November- so long!!
What are people who aren't seriously ill doing about work? I'm struggling to picture a full week (london tube commute). I can't really think what to eat and when food gets to my mouth I change my mind really quickly - today I've had crackers , mandarine, coffee, chocolate milk, dried apricots. It's not really enough. ( and a cup of tea but that came straight back up so doesn't count). I'm not really ill but am struggling! I do feel ok in the afternoons usually though.

Aggy106 · 01/10/2017 13:28

I'm with you timeisnotaline on the sickness as well as the tube commute. I don't know how I've got through the last week and how I'll get through the next. I've been taking very plain cereal bars to work and some fruit (apples, bananas, grapes) I was eating dried apricots a lot last week but found they weren't really curbing the hunger. I've also really gone off yoghurt which is a pain as I bough loads last week. Crackers first thing seem to stave off the worst of the sickness. I'm so scared that I'll be sick on the train or the tube to work I've started carrying around bin liners just in case and hoping no one hears my retching in the toilets at work.

Zoo33 · 01/10/2017 16:53

@timeisnotaline @aggy106 I feel for you. I'm dreading the sickness for the same reasons - 1.5 hour commute each way with no loos. The bin liner idea, although horrible, is genius.

Zoo33 · 01/10/2017 17:14

Actually there's one toilet en route - at Waterloo, but I think I'd object on principle to paying 30p to vomit. 😭

Dorotha · 01/10/2017 18:32

My sickness is worst in the evenings. I absolutely cannot wait for bedtime so I could go to sleep at 8pm.

PhoenixDown · 01/10/2017 18:44

Me too @Dorotha it seems to get progressively worse through the day.

DP has taken DD for tea at his parents, we usually go on a Sunday but I can't bear it, the thought of sitting at the table with loads of hot food and smells.... Instead I'm lying down on the sofa after making myself eat a sandwich and desperately waiting for bed time! Thankful for a bit of peace for a couple of hours.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 01/10/2017 19:34

Wow, I've missed a lot of posts! Sorry to hear about people feeling pukey - mine has mostly gone, but I'm just exhausted instead! Had a nap this afternoon while DS played.

Finally had my booking appointment on Friday which was fine. Got lots of reassurance about getting extra support to avoid a rerun of last time (preeclampsia and emcs at 35 weeks)

Aggy106 · 01/10/2017 19:36

Zoo my commute takes about the same and goes via waterloo, maybe we'all cross paths there sometime?! (hopefully not in the toilets, I object to paying 30p to use the loos too although I keep 30p in my purse just in case).

Phoenix and Dorotha hope you're having a nice relaxing evening. I can't wait to go to bed either.

timeisnotaline · 01/10/2017 20:07

I have some ikea snaplock bags in my handbag with some kitchen paper. Must add a facecloth for tomorrow! I have decided to take Tuesday sick (and do half to most of a day working from home) then I usually work from home Thursday so hopefully that will get me through the week.

Zoo33 · 01/10/2017 21:25

@aggy Let's hope not! But I might start carry 30p with me just in case. The prospect of throwing up on the tube is not a good one.

Noredwine · 01/10/2017 21:59

Hurrah Milford - great news!

So sorry so many of you are feeling so rubbish Confused
I am not bad apart from achy boobs and a bit tired and constipated but windy at same time!! Grin
Managed a 2 hour walk with the huskies and hubbie this afternoon and then been starving hungry all afternoon!
NHS Scan appointment has come through for when I am 12 weeks so will have private one in a week and a half (so hope pip squeak is still there and wriggling) and then the NHS one!

Jaronior · 01/10/2017 22:36

@milford great news! Congrats!

@Dorotha I'm glad it's not only me that's suffering with evening sickness- it's killing me. I'm not actually sick but the nausea..... ugh!Confused

LadyPug · 01/10/2017 22:39

Nausea central here also! Really can't do another 5+ weeks of this! Bleugh!

Lotsalotsagiggles · 01/10/2017 22:56

I ordered some travel sick bags on eBay today

Few for the car, my handbag etc for when on trains and think it'll make me relax a bit. They are lined and can be sealed and easy to throw away!

timeisnotaline · 01/10/2017 23:18

Ok I have just ordered some too. I have ikea ziplock bags in my handbag at the moment. It's mostly just retching but I feel rubbish! And then I remember how much better this is than my last pregnancy and feel pathetic for mosning and thinking I can't get to work...

Aggy106 · 02/10/2017 08:17

Just had to pay 30p to go be sick in the toilets at Waterloo, the smell down there is absolutely dreadful which made everything worse. Hope everyone else is having a better Monday morning!
