Ladies,

Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

Me too @ladypug I feel awful. Had a 2 hour sleep and it's made no difference! So tired and sicky and rotten. Constant low down cramping too I just can't get comfortable :(

MrsOB27 · 30/09/2017 15:47

I feel your pain ladies! I'm really struggling today... No energy at all Sad

AlexsMum89 · 30/09/2017 15:53

I think I slept for about 12 hours last night 9-9. Luckily my darling boy is 7 and loves a chance to sneak downstairs and watch tv on a Saturday! Oh how I'm going to miss that!

LadyPug · 30/09/2017 15:58

Gosh it's so hard! Especially with a toddler! Thank goodness for Saturday as DH can help cover me!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 30/09/2017 15:58

I've been having naps everyday this week so far (the joys of being a sahm to a toddler that naps!). I've not had one today and boy and I'm feeling it 😴

8 weeks today - only 24 days till my 12 week scan. In that time I've got my DD's birthday (how on earth she's got to 2 already I don't know!) and my DH's. So hopefully plenty to keep me busy and not fixating on it.

Noredwine · 30/09/2017 16:05

Milford - glad the bleeding has stopped. I started having sharp pains and twinges very early - from about week 5 until week 7 and more recently just when I sneeze hard or turn over too quickly in bed! Hopefully yours are just a worse version of that? Could the other pain be from constipation? My stomach felt so bloated and painful last night before my posh work do and it was such a relief to go to bed and stretch out with nothing restricting my stomach. Didn't sleep well but pain was gone this morning and then did massive poo! Ha ha probably tmi!

I would definitely do private scan for reassurance if only £29! Stop you worrying when you move x

PhoenixDown · 30/09/2017 16:27

I feel awful for DD as she wants to play with me and go out to park etc and all I can do is lie on the sofa :( poor DP is shattered after running round after her all day!

LadyPug · 30/09/2017 16:53

Same phoenix soooo much harder this time around!

MilfordFound · 30/09/2017 16:58

Haha noredwine there's far too much tmi with pregnancy isn't there, your body takes on a life of its own! I had the opposite problem, diarrhoea each day, until I started taking pregnancy vitamins which had iron in. Now it's gone from one extreme to the other, so a lot of the cramping could be down to bowels. The stabby pain has stopped, just 'normal' cramping now so that's a good sign I think.

I've booked a scan for tomorrow, so hopefully it'll all be fine. And if it's not, well at least I'll find out tomorrow rather than at the 13 wk scan. I'm 8 weeks now so fingers crossed I'll see a bit more than last time.

Went to the new house today to check it's all ok, my booking in appt letter was there, booking in appt on Thursday this week which is good. Although the letter does say the appt is 'at your gp surgery' which as I've not registered at the new one in the village yet can't be certain it's there. I'll have to phone them to make sure!

Still constantly feeling dreadful. Nausea is hideous. My daughter is going feral while I lie on the sofa and my partner is busy packing. Thank god for the digital babysitter aka the ipad.

PhoenixDown · 30/09/2017 16:58

Ah, those were the days, being pregnant without another one to look after, spending all your days off in bed! Grin

LadyPug · 30/09/2017 17:18

I wish I had made the most of it first time round! Second time around is hell on earth!

LadyPug · 30/09/2017 17:20

Glad the standby pain has stopped milford and that you have a scan booked, that will stop you worrying!

Dorotha · 30/09/2017 17:44

I'm also completely wiped out and my son is playing off because he's missing my attention. It's definitely much harder this time.

CaptainsCat · 30/09/2017 18:59

I agree with you all, pregnancy and caring for another child is a bad combination! My house is a mess and my toddler is bored, but I feel so so sick.

I do think that being a pregnant SAHM is easier than working though. How I commuted in the throes of morning sickness last time around I don't know. Was really really tough.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 30/09/2017 19:27

Hats off to you all with other children to care for!

AlexsMum89 · 30/09/2017 19:50

I'm definitely leaning on DH to help me when I'm feeling particularly bad, but I find having the kids around a good distraction. My ds is rather grown up anyway and a complete sweetheart but I've got my almost 3 year old niece staying this weekend and it's been fab so far. Sometimes having to focus on a little person helps.
My job on the other hand - hellish! I can barely concentrate and have to keep running off to the loo

Kirstipops · 30/09/2017 20:12

My daughter begins her school nursery sessions next week, 3 hours in the afternoon every day. As I only work 2/3 days a week I can already foresee much napping occurring on my days off!!
We walked 8k today to the pub for lunch, ooft I'm gonna feel it tomorrow! (Taxi back, thank god) I thought I was gonna heave part way there but luckily I'd packed snacks so scarfed down a banana and oatcakeConfused

Noredwine · 01/10/2017 00:07

Good luck Milford for scan tomorrow - have everything crossed for you.
Talking of Diarrhoea- that's how I found out I was pregnant! Struck down with horrendous cramping and multiple toilet trips and luminous yellow you know what for best part of 3 days but no sickness. On third day when I had finally managed to eat a small snack and drink some water without running to loo I had to pop out to get some dog food and suddenly felt nauseous and don't know why as not even due my period I drove straight to chemist and when got back home took test fully expecting it to be negative (as in recent months had had some pregnancy like symptoms when a day or so late) and low and behold was pregnant! So I think my diarrhoea was pregnancy induced! Not had it at all since - feel like going the other way now! Sooo glamorous! I'm 9 weeks now and pregnancy symptoms have returned in last day or two and I am so relieved and actually glad to have aching/tingling/on fire boobs!

InRainbows · 01/10/2017 04:51

What is this pregnancy lark?

I'm painfully bloated but at the same time feel like my tummy is empty!

I crash at half eight and am awake and in the bath at half four?!?

It's making me feel upside down! 🙃

Kirstipops · 01/10/2017 08:24

A bath at 4.30am sounds nice and peaceful actually haha! Yeah it's def totally topsy turvy time, looking forward to a second wind in 2nd trimester, only 6 weeks to goHmm Got my letter with my booking in appt with consultant and scan date yesterday though, 5 weeks away!

PhoenixDown · 01/10/2017 08:39

OK so how bad is cramping for everyone? For the past 3 days I've had constant cramping really low down along my pubic bone. It's always there and really annoying, like a bruised feeling. Had to take paracetamol 3 times yesterday. I know cramping is normal but it's doing my head in.

Piewraith · 01/10/2017 09:05

Can't believe there will be at least six more weeks of this nausea. I vomited at the table halfway through dinner yesterday. It just came on so suddenly. Every time I'm upright the nausea is worse so I just stay in bed when I'm not at work. It's a long weekend here and haven't been out of bed the whole three days, except for bathroom and aforementioned vomit dinner.

I've got Maxalon from the gp but it's not doing much.

Showers making me feel the worst so I haven't had one since Thursday Blush

InRainbows · 01/10/2017 09:21

Oh @Piewraith that sounds awful! I hope the second trimester is kinder to you!

My cramping is very intermittent @Phoenixdown seems to be a sharp cramp when I sneeze or stretch! It's the bloating which is the biggest big bear for me at the moment, so difficult to get comfortable with it!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 01/10/2017 09:35

That does sound miserable piewrath - could you manage a bath if someone could run one for you?

My nausea is nowhere near as debilitating but I have forgotten what it feels like to feel "well"

PhoenixDown · 01/10/2017 09:40

@piewraith aww bless you :( I know what you mean about the showering, having to stand for a while and the feel of the spray just makes me feel horrible. I'm a total gross mess atm.

I HATE baths normally but I think I'm going to have to try a warm bath later to see if it soothes the cramping. I know I'll get annoyed after 10 mins though and get out!
