@Daisy I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you have lots of support around you, it's such a difficult time Flowers

@Phoneix I'm so sorry you're going through this too. I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you that all will be ok on Thursday.

@treehousemama 5 weeks is really early to see a heartbeat. They suggested waiting till at least 7 to me to make sure I'd be able to see one. I hope all is ok for you and it was just early.

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 08:12

So my spotting stopped but I felt like death the rest of the afternoon. Very sick (had to hug the toilet) and aching. I had a bit of fever too - no idea what's going on! Headache all night long, finally stoped after some paracetamol with caffeine. I'm so so tempted to call sick but I'm covering for two people and this would definitely mean failing to meet team deadlines and I don't want to be responsible for that. Also, FIL is staying over so I need to be in the best shape under circumstances. All I want is sleep sleep sleep and more sleep.

Also, I got a letter about 'slapped cheek' circulating in my son's school. Apparently it's very dangerous in pregnancy. I'm sure neither of us have had it. Great.

readysetcake · 27/09/2017 08:13

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you phoenix and treehouse

Doublechocolatetiffin · 27/09/2017 08:26

Oh no @Dorotha it sounds like you're feeling really bad. Is it worth seeing your GP? Especially with the slapped cheek circulating.

Whatamuddleduck · 27/09/2017 08:38

Dorotha it does sound like GP would be a good call , esp given that you felt feverish.

Today I'm finally down to a pair of leggings and a pair of size 14 jeggings bought two weeks ago. I'm normally a 10-12. I'm ridiculously massive in my abdomen. It must just be bloating but it looks ridiculous. I'm trying to hold out until 12 week scan to buy any maternity clothes but I can't go on like this. Even the leaving zips open trick won't work anymore! None of my work dresses fit. Think I'm going to have to invest in some maternity tights and leggings and some really loose tops. 9 wks 1 day today. Anyone else similar?

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 09:11

I'm actually dropping weight despite eating tonnes of sweets. I think it's because I'm too sick to swallow anything in the evenings so have been skipping dinner this last week. It will bounce back eventually.

I need to change my GP practice - they are nice but it's 30 minute walk away and I can't face it, plus can't get enough time off work. Do your GPs take blood? Ours doesn't - you need to go to another clinic which is always very very busy (never waited for less than 1 hour). It's a total pain!

PhoenixDown · 27/09/2017 09:27

@cautiousoptomist I don't at the moment but it's fine, DP is only 20 mins away if I need him and his boss is aware of what's going on. Just dropped DD at school so going to relax with a cuppa and some trashy TV!

Feeling a bit better this morning - the red soon changed back to brown and has now stopped. No cramps either. Boobs feel a bit more sore again too but I might have been poking them too much! Hoping just my body playing tricks. Thanks for all the kind wishes everyone Flowers

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 09:37

Also, body odour.. (Tmi)
5 minutes after the shower and I feel both sweaty and smelly again.. Thanks hormones! Pregnancy is really glamorous, isn't it? 😬😬 I also wonder if other people can smell it or whether it's just my hyper sensitive preggo nose 🤔

Lindyj0 · 27/09/2017 09:38

Phoenix, that’s great news. 👍

I’ve just spoken to the Pregnancy Support team about my spotting and the midwife I spoke to was very helpful and supportive. She said it’s very common to get some spotting and cramping and the vast majority of women go on to have happy, healthy pregnancies. She said to monitor it for 48 hours and if it gets worse to call them back. She was so supportive and lovely I could cry 😭🤞

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 10:50

@Lindyj0 that's reassuring to hear, thank you.

My spotting is back. It's mostly brown (which is good) but with streaks of mucusy pink (which isn't great). I'll monitor today and maybe ring EPU tomorrow.

PhoenixDown · 27/09/2017 11:20

@Dorotha I'm right there with you on the er.... smell problem. I am constantly hot and start sweating as soon as I do anything or walk anywhere, and often wake up in the middle of the night drenched! Having to do washing at an alarming rate! I'm normally one of those annoying people who's constantly cold so it's really weird for me.

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 11:28

Yes I'm hot all the time. It's definitely hormonal, I remember this from last time when I made my bosses move my desk to a different side of the building (with better air con) because I was too hot. I think they still dislike me for that 🙈

It runs out our EPU is operating on wall in basis so they can't give you appointments and can't tell you how long you'd have to wait: maybe an hour, maybe four if it's busy.. I might attempt it tomorrow because we have FIL over tonight and I don't want him to suspect anything if it's a mc and I'm a mess.

Dorotha · 27/09/2017 11:29

Walk in, not wall in :)

NancyNoo32 · 27/09/2017 12:33

So sorry to hear that Daisy.

Sounds like a lot of us are suffering in one way or another at the moment. Hoping for lots of reassurance soon.

I'm 6+3 and have had stabbing pains in my right side every couple of minutes for the last 24 hours. Am used to feeling pain twinges every now and then, but got no sleep at all last night and it just feels different as it's so regular and more painful. Not unbearable though. No bleeding but not sure whether to seek advice or not...

LadyPug · 27/09/2017 12:58

Hi everyone! I'm ok! Baby is there and all is fine. Only measuring 5 ish weeks and I'm 6 but they said too difficult to tell size at this stage. It's good news though!

PhoenixDown · 27/09/2017 13:10

@LadyPug great news! Grin

Hiraeth17 · 27/09/2017 13:26

How's everyone doing?

Ladypug how was your scan?

Hiraeth17 · 27/09/2017 13:27

Sorry! Just seen your update, that's brilliant. Eww! 😃

Hiraeth17 · 27/09/2017 13:27

*news (not eww!!)

timeisnotaline · 27/09/2017 13:36

It can't hurt to call nancynoo and ask?

Motherofpuppies · 27/09/2017 13:36

Hi everyone! New joiner here, been lurking for a long time but finally took the plunge to join. I'm 7 + 3 so due on May 13th.

@Whatamuddleduck I'm so glad you mentioned the clothes issue! I've been feeling ridiculous too - nothing fits and I'm so uncomfortable! I think it is just crazy bloating but if I try and suck in my tummy I get a stabbing pain in my abdomen, and tight clothing makes me feel even more nauseaus than normal.

My sister pointed out that if I buy maternity jeans now, at least I'll get more use out of them! Got some arriving from eBay this week and can't wait to have some trousers that fit :-/ Only got those and some size 14 jogging bottoms I bought last week in desperation!

ladydolly · 27/09/2017 13:48

Don't hold off buying larger clothes or maternity wear, you're going to need it after the baby arrives anyway, it takes a little while for the belly to go down :)
(This is my excuse and I'm sticking to it)
I just bought some maternity harem trousers from asos and they are HEAVEN after a long day in too tight trousers.

LadyPug · 27/09/2017 13:54

It's such great news baby is ok but I feel sooo ill today! Sickness has kicked in with a vengeance! Bleugh!

MrsOB27 · 27/09/2017 14:28

So glad some of you have started to mention clothes too! I bought my first maternity stretchy dress today, was too much of a bargain to resist! Probably still a bit big for now but at least its there for when i need it!Struggling with dresses/trousers for work that are comfy!

Poppy012 · 27/09/2017 14:42

Great news @ladypug Grin
I have started buying maternity wear also, Exciting times 👶🏻
