Ladies,

Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

Oh good luck Daisy let us all know! Thinking of you for tomorrow. And thinking of you too Fleur glad you're taking it easy!

Kirstipops · 25/09/2017 22:09

So sorry Fleur, take all the cuddles you canFlowers
Daisy, Ladypug & cautious I hope you get some reassurance soon, such a nerve wracking time.

Hi mumallgirls, welcome to the madhouse :)

@Redpanda - what on earth is a "safari supper"?! I'm intrigued!

timeisnotaline · 25/09/2017 22:14

Welcome mum :)

cautiousoptimist1 · 26/09/2017 00:39

kirstipops I'm glad you asked, I'm intrigued too redpanda!

ladypug, I'm 6+2.

The spotting seems to have stopped but I still feel very nervous! My GP appointment isn't until 6pm tomorrow so I won't really have any answers for a few days. It's like TTC again where you're looking for symptoms which is then probably making you feel things that aren't there. I need to try and relax!

Morning ladies. I'm not feeling at all pregnant any more and haven't had any symptoms since yesterday. Please tell me this is normal and that I'm panicking over nothing. I keep telling myself I'd be bleeding if there was something wrong (not to belittle those of you who are spotting) - is this right? I'm seeing my GP on Friday but as I'm only about 5 weeks they wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. Never thought I'd actually welcome cramps and nausea.

RedPanda25 · 26/09/2017 06:58

Hope your GP appointment comes round quickly for you @cautiousoptimist1, will be thinking of you.

@Zoo33 my morning sickness and extreme tiredness didn't really kick in till 6 - 7 weeks and I think it's normal for symptoms to fluctuate in the early days. It's all such a worry though isn't it?

Oh a safari supper - I had never heard of one either until we were invited to one. We're having it on our street and it's where you have predrinks at one persons house, then starters at another and mains at another etc etc. I'm looking forward to it but also concerned that I can't actually eat a lot without throwing up so will have to just pick at every course! The joys ey!

cautiousoptimist1 · 26/09/2017 07:08

zoo, I think it's perfectly normal for symptoms to fluctuate. My nausea comes and goes depending on how tired I am. Mention it to your doctor on Friday if you're worried but I think enjoy the lack of nausea while you can!

redpanda, I have never heard of that before. I was anticipating all having to provide safari themed food but I couldn't get any further than zebra/tiger cake, tiger bread or animal biscuits! Grin

Thanks all for your words of reassurance. I think I need to take a deep breath and try to stop worrying!

I have heard of a safari dinner (although I didn't know it was called that), but the one I was told about you visited the houses of people you didn't know! Seemed rather a strange idea.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 26/09/2017 07:36

I definitely hope it's normal for symptoms to fluctuate as I had no nausea yesterday and breast pain subsided. A welcome relief at first but of course I then started to worry! I am 7+0 today. Both seem to have returned this morning

Aggy106 · 26/09/2017 07:37

redpanda sounds like fun (if you weren't feeling so sick!)

zoo I had this last week, all symptoms disappeared for about 36 hours and I panicked and booked in for an early scan on Saturday where was saw the baby and everything looked ok. Symptoms returned too in full force and I have been feeling worse than ever, I agree with what cautious said.

At my scan on Saturday I thought I was 6+1 but the sonographer said based on the measurements it was more like 5 weeks. I'm pretty certain of my ovulation and implantation dates so don't think I can be 5 weeks but the sonographer said the important thing was the heartbeat (which was amazing) but I'm worried if the baby is measuring small. Has anyone else has this?

Kirstipops · 26/09/2017 07:41

I was wondering if you lived in South Africa or something haha!
zoo my symptoms come and go too as they did in my first preg, as someone else said further up the thread, don't forget to discount lack of period as a symptom!Grin

Zoo33 · 26/09/2017 08:04

@Kirstipops Hahahaha I do seem to be forgetting about the lack of period. 😄

My sense of smell seems to have gone into overdrive this morning - someone on my train smells really bad.

@Aggy I have no idea what I'm talking about so will defer to other, more knowledgable ladies, but if the sonographer isn't worried then hopefully you can take comfort from that. Maybe your baby is building up to a big growth spurt?

LadyPug · 26/09/2017 08:24

Hey cautious you're a day ahead of me, I thought we were close. My spotting has stopped also. My appt is 11 tomorrow, I will come on afterwards and let you know what happens. Fingers crossed for us both!

And yes, symptoms fluctuate here too. Last time they started upping at 6 weeks, 9 weeks was my worst for sickness and better by week 13!

MooChops89 · 26/09/2017 09:36

I've been the same as Zoo, I was really nauseous/bloated/sick for about a week around week 5 but now I feel fine (7+5) and it's making me a bit nervous. Still have horrendous boob pain (and no period!) So hoping that means everything is still ok and I just got lucky re: sickness.
I read something while I was obsessively googling about fluctuating symptoms which suggested that taking the multivits first thing on an empty stomach may cause bloating and nausea and realised I've been forgetting them first thing and taking them later on so maybe I never had morning sickness and it was just the vits. God this is stressful! Just want to get to the scan!

DaisyMay25 · 26/09/2017 09:40

Morning all, inconclusive results I'm afraid. They couldn't find anything
Either ovulated late
Ectopic
Or miscarried
Had blood taken and gotta have more taken on Thursday and should have an answer then.
Told work I'm not ready to go back, I'm in no frame of mind.

Dorotha · 26/09/2017 10:43

Oh fuck. Slightly over 8 weeks today and feeling especially tired and sick today. Now noticed quite a lot of spotting. Fuck fuck fuck :(

Poppy012 · 26/09/2017 11:10

Oh daisy really sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok

MrsF10917 · 26/09/2017 11:15

So sorry to hear this Daisy, thinking of you x

HerSymphonyAndSong · 26/09/2017 11:16

Moochops the one time I have actually vomited so far was when I took FA and vit D with a pint of water on an empty stomach, then didn't eat breakfast straight away (had a shower instead). Water and vits came back up again when in the middle of drying my hair! (Made it to the loo)

HerSymphonyAndSong · 26/09/2017 11:17

Sorry to hear that Daisy, added to the sadness the uncertainty must be horrible

Fingers crossed for you Dorotha

PhoenixDown · 26/09/2017 11:56

Thinking of you Daisy I hope it is good news for you.

Am also worried. Brown spotting this am on wiping. Stopped now but I'm sure my boobs feel less sore which is exactly what happened with my mmc. Though I also had spotting at same gestation with my daughter so maybe spotting at 6-7 weeks is just what my body does? Got a scan at epu on Thurs. Desperately hoping it's just some implantation bleeding :(

PhoenixDown · 26/09/2017 11:58

Thinking of you too @Dorotha are you going to ring GP/EPU? x

Poppy012 · 26/09/2017 12:10

So many of us are having spitting! Mines lasted 3 weeks so far and still ongoing, just trying not to worry about it now tho.
@dorotha yes try ringing gp and they will refer you to the epau

Dorotha · 26/09/2017 12:40

I don't know if I can be bothered with EPU. I think I'll just wait and see and then decide. It's not like they can do anything anyway and getting time off work to go to hospital is near impossible without having to tell them.

I just feel really crap overall today. Exhausted, sick and aching.
