Ladies,

Welcome to thread 2 for babies due in May 2018.

Looking forward to early scans, seeing the first flutters and progressing further into the first trimester.

Welcome to the new people, if anyone wants to join the Facebook group then PM me your email and I can add you.

I had an early scan this morning, all is fine this time. Measuring 7+4 and we saw the heartbeat. It's not going to sink in for a while I think.

I found pretending to drink the easiest way of getting around the whole not drinking thing. Either have a glass of wine in your hand that you don't drink or at dinner I sat next to my DH and would subtlety (I hope) swap my glass with my DH's so he'd drink for the both of us. Of course he was devastated by this plan 😂 I also found asking my DH to get me a 'gin and tonic' (sparkling water plus lemon and straw) etc another useful one if you're at a bar.

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 12:40

Hey everyone, sorry to post on both May threads but a little concerned. I'm 6 weeks today and have had some spotting, not sure if I should be worried about this?

Doublechocolatetiffin · 25/09/2017 12:49

@Ladypug spotting can be completely normal so don't panic. I'd give your midwife or GP a call. They will be able to tell you if you need to do anything further and they may well send you to the EPU for a scan.

DaisyMay25 · 25/09/2017 13:18

@LadyPug I don't know if you read my post yesterday, after having brown spotting since Wednesday yesterday I woke up with cramps and red blood with clots.
After a trip to a&e they was confident I wasn't miscarrying.
They said it's probably from my cervix adjusting.
I'm going to the EPU tomorrow for an early scan.
The cramping has gone(well I've got mild ones but that's normal) and the bleeding has gone back to brown (hopefully no more red)
So I'm feeling more positive.
If you're concerned call your midwife or GP I not once was made to feel like I was over reacting and every doctor I've seen has been reassuring.
I hope this helps
My nausea is awful today, I'm completely bed bound for now

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 13:21

Thank you so much guys, I did read daisy and I was hoping you were ok. I have no cramping or anything. Just called midwife and she's calling me back, she said she would like me to have an early scan, I'm nervous!

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 13:28

Scan booked for Wednesday morning! Oh god I hope it's all ok

FleurWeasley · 25/09/2017 14:06

I had a scan at the EPU today and it confirmed probably miscarriage. The midwife I spoke to on the phone (from the birthing centre) was useless but the EPU were all lovely.

Wishing you better luck daisy and ladypug!

Zoo33 · 25/09/2017 14:10

Thanks cautiousoptimist1. I think at this stage it'll probably scare him more, but I'll bear it in mind for later on. Men!

Ladypug - Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Daisy - glad to hear they've been optimistic about not miscarrying. I'm (perhaps obsessively) checking for blood anytime I pee (which is frequently). 😢 I hope both your early scans go well.

readysetcake · 25/09/2017 14:23

Hope all goes well for you both ladypug and daisy have my fingers crossed for you. So sorry to hear about your scan @FleurWeasley hope you are ok.

Hummingbird15 · 25/09/2017 14:39

So sorry to hear that Fleur.

Good luck to those awaiting scans.

I had a scan at 6+2 and was only dated 5 weeks. She said to return in 2 weeks for another scan and to be prepared for potentially bad news. The next scan is this Friday so am keeping fingers tightly crossed that I just ovulated late...

Poppy012 · 25/09/2017 14:40

Good luck with the scan @ladypug
@daisy glad the bleeding had slowed down for you, hope the scan goes well tomorrow.
@fleur sorry to hear that Sad hope you are ok.

Zoo33 · 25/09/2017 14:53

@fleur I think we cross posted - so sorry to hear your news. Hope you're ok.

@hummingbird Good luck on Friday.

cautiousoptimist1 · 25/09/2017 15:42

So sorry to hear that fleur.

I hope those of you waiting for early scans get some answers and reassurance this week.

So sorry to the people asking what I'm taking for sickness, I've not been on the thread for a few days. I'm on cyclizine. It worked a dream for two days, then Saturday was horrendous and Sunday a little better. Today has been a little better again so fingers crossed it will go back to being ok.
It's my turn for my booking apt this week, so I can have a quick chat with the midwife about it (and my million other topics I want to discuss)

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 17:12

Fleur I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you have some support. I'm nervous about tomorrow, is yours also tomorrow Daisy? Good luck for Friday Humming

This whole waiting game is so stressful!

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 17:13

Wednesday!!! Not tomorrow!

cautiousoptimist1 · 25/09/2017 17:40

Aargh I've now also had some spotting today. Feel sick with nerves. I've spoken to the dr who reassured me it's normal, just to keep an eye on it. I had an appointment with the dr tomorrow anyway so I'll see him tomorrow evening and think he'll also recommend an early scan.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 25/09/2017 17:56

I'm so sorry @Fleur, I hope you have lots of support around you.

I'm also sorry to hear that lots of you are spotting and waiting for scans. It's so scary waiting to see if everything is ok. I hope you manage to keep yourselves busy over the next few days to keep your mind off it.

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 18:08

Oh cautious so sorry we're in the same boat! How far along are you? So nerve wracking just waiting to see what's happening

Aggy106 · 25/09/2017 19:00

fleur so sorry to hear this, hope you're being looked after.

Hope it works out for everyone waiting for scans, fingers crossed for you.

hummingbird was there a heartbeat on your scan? I had a scan on Saturday and am pretty convinced I was 6+1 (based on ovulation and date I got the first positive) but the sonographer said the baby was measuring more like 5 weeks.

redpanda could you say that you're starting stoptober a day early as you can't do the last day of October or something?

DaisyMay25 · 25/09/2017 19:39

@LadyPug yea first thing in the morning. I'm not feeling optimistic
My sister and partner are trying to reassure me but I'm battling with depression at the same time so I'm just an emotional mess.
Hoping both our scans are fine though!!

timeisnotaline · 25/09/2017 19:41

I just got a really strong positive test and am suddenly feeling much better about this.

RedPanda25 · 25/09/2017 20:13

@FleurWeasley I am so sorry. I really hope you have some support in real life. Sending lots of hugs.

Also so sorry some of you are having spotting and scan date worries. I'll have everything crossed for you!

Thank you for all your suggestions to alcohol. Well it's a safari supper thing and I've just re-read the info and it says that we're to take our own booze so I think I'll get a bottle of non-alcoholic fizz and just drink that in a wine glass. I don't think anyone will know the difference?

FleurWeasley · 25/09/2017 20:25

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I'm doing ok and cuddled up with the dog, gave my three year old lots of extra cuddles today too.

mumallgirls · 25/09/2017 20:35

Hi guys. Can I join you? I am due 24.05.2018, if all goes well.

I had a chemical pregnancy in July, feeling anxious is an understatement. I am mum of 3 girls. Nice to meet you all x
